I’m a 68 year old retired RN. Why am I obsessed with watching your videos?? About equipment? I don’t know but I love it. Happy holidays from California.🎄❤️💚 OK, maybe it’s the two beautiful properties you have too! I do love the cabin, great buy!

You back that truck up like a BOSS! You inspire me to finally get out there and learn to back up using only my side and rear view mirrors rather than throwing my right arm over the passenger seat and looking backward out of the end of my Jeep! Well done!
Just another day in the life, Tyson 💪😎 We are on borrowed time here in the northeast, just waiting for the snow to fly now. I'm all geared up for it though and I'll be right there with ya buddy...
California here and I am shocked how dark it is so early in the day on your end of the nation. Wow! With all that snow, it is picture perfect on postcards and photos though....lol...🥰
This is about the only thing I’ve seen that I have doubts that my Range Rover could do. Would love to try though. Ploughing I mean, the snow we can handle or mud or water, but I’m dubious about the ability to plough. Although our old Cherokee 4.0l would have been up to the challenge, we toed a 60tonne fairground machine through 12” of mud with that lol

You are correct. If you plow snow. Youd day will come and you will get stuck. It doesn't matter if you have new equipment or old. It is just a matter of time. Glad everything worked out but it sure is frustrating when it happens.
You guys got quite a heavy snowfall. Last year we experienced a blizzard and I was snowed in for Christmas and couldn't go anywhere until after New Years. I had snow higher than my knees and didn't have a snowblower yet. I am hoping to be able to drive this year to where I want to go, but that is up in the air. Time will tell.

Oh man, that sucks!!! Not looking forward to that again this winter! Fortunately, I only have my own lot to plow. Kinda (pleasantly) surprised we haven’t had any accumulation in Chicago area yet !
I was just watching your video about more surprises at the abandoned property. You were talking about having trouble getting financing because the place is off grid. I don't know if you have such a thing there with mortgage companies called a bridge loan, but I use the equity in one property to purchase another property for cash. That way the property that was mortgaged was the kind that the banks like. If you're planning to keep the property and not flip it, maybe that would help.
You just took me back in time 62 years to when I first started plowing with a gas powered JD 520 2-WD tractor with chains, calcium-filled tires and manually-switched-position single straight blade plow on the front. Tough work in those times, back when we had real winters, ground often frozen from Thanksgiving through March, and the problem was where to put all that darned snow! I hated it when snow fell on mud--the worst!. With the tricycle front end though, maneuvering was a breeze, and the chains with independently braked rear wheels, meant never having to say "I'm stuck" (unless one did something very stupid--like not pay attention to what one was doing.) I tried my best not to get stuck, and to throw the snow to the down-wind side if I could, so as to reduce drifting. Great lights and mirrors are a must. When the farm became no longer viable, I bought retired army dodge 1-1/4 ton power-wagons w/ 318 autos, hydraulically-adjusted plows and started plowing for others, too. Ahhhh--a warm cab--and I was in plowing heaven! I never used an articulated plow, but your set-up looks very efficient and with enough sustenance, you could plow for days with some great paydays, I have no doubt. I doubt self-driving plow trucks will be your competition any time soon. Or your son's, for that matter. (I hate the whole notion of that A.I. stuff!) Someone suggested tall guide markers, and I used to buy them in bulk and install them before freezing and plowing season. Makes for a neater/faster job. The battery-powered drill w/ masonry bit is a great idea. Chains were very rarely used, but I had them for emergencies. The longest distance I had between jobs was just a few miles at maximum. I'd offer a nominal 'good neighbor' discount if a customer got a neighbor to hire me for plowing him out, too. More plowing with less travel equals less wear and tear and better profit margins. Regarding your 'shoulder mount' camera, I'd personally like to see it mounted higher to see more of the road ahead and less of the lower dash panel. I agree with the rotating safety light to reduce the chance of getting hit by others. I also liked plow guide markers on the plow ends and I'd look into air bags in the front end to reduce dip when the plow is lifted, and help out with the lights illuminating what you want. I also had 'skids' to barely skim off the snow without digging in to what I was plowing. Thank you, @workplaytv for that trip down memory lane. One of the things you show without bragging, is how hard work intelligently done, can pay off in the end. Hats off to you, my virtual friend, and thanks for entertaining me with your well-made videos. You're a natural at it. Best to you and yours,,,John
You really should be c arrying a winch fr your receiver. Bad enuf being stuck in the city but out in God's country is a whole other story. I did this fr about 10 years. Good luck and b smart. Not stuck and froze.
I got my F250 stuck in my own yard after that storm. LoL. I was trying to flatten down the snow on a new rough gravel driveway going back and forth, went just off one side that has like a 6 inch drop not paying attention, hit that SUPER soft mud from all our rain and the tires just sunk. Truck was on a 12 degree lean according to the off-road screen. Between the soft mud on one side and hard pack snow on the other I wasnt getting any grip, had to call a tow truck to pull me out... in my own driveway. 😂
This just happened to me the other day, I was crawling down a road that had not been plowed (a sheet of ice after it had melted and refrozen several times) at 15 mph, I came upon a hill with a curve at the end. I felt my rear start to kick out so I just touched the brakes, didn’t even push the pedal. Just enough for the lights to come on, and the wheels locked up, I had to try and make the curve and moved the steering wheel and it did nothing, I shot off the road, the front wheels hooked instantly after they fell off the road. Swinging the rear around and throwing the truck right into a tree, I’m thankful the tree was there otherwise the truck would have rolled. In the end, I lost a window, I need a new rear door and driver side aperture. I can’t get those parts until February, let alone installed. So I just need to deal with the freezing cold all of the time. Yay! The tow truck guys idea to get me free was to drag my truck across a tree scraping everything, man am I glad I didn’t go with that and sign his liability form
Studs are illegal where I am, pretty big fine if they catch you. I’m running DuraTracs but they don’t help on a sheet of ice, just in the snow and mud.
Do you put any ballast in this truck for when you have to plow these really long roads? If I end up going full time with my wood business I’ll probably add plowing to my services. I’m not sure which style of plow to get when the time comes. I like the idea of the v for long roads but I’m not a fan of how low it sits when driving down the road. I really like the extendable plows by fisher. Which do you prefer?
Beautiful snow ❄️ and I only get rain on Vancouver Island LoL 🤣😹 Where's your strobe lights young man! In Canada your allowed to use chains in your county with permission BUT here we use chains anyways.

down here on the west coast of the US our guys run chains on one axle and sometimes on both, we have wet snow but still, chains probably would of kept you straight. I am guessing you don't because your snow is dryer and you have big distance between jobs?
Yeah it can be an hour or more at time between locations. I used to have a salter in my bed and that made a big difference but now it’s more benefit for me to have my tool box and bed space on back.
@@workplaytv I've never used chains for that reason even though I have a set. Just no time when you're hustling. Might wanna put some markers on the driveway though so you know where the edge is. They'll save ya. If the ground's already frozen use a drill with a masonry bit to set them.
Might be some good insurance to have a set in the truck for instances like this where you already got in a bad situation or the conditions feel like you may end up in a bad situation. I’ve never had to use them myself but I know a few people that keep a set in their trucks and when it’s slick out, they put them on when plowing.
@@workplaytv it knocks it off but it just Falls right down in front of it again and gets stuck back to it when you start pushing the snow so in reality The Big Bang Theory is pointless LOL and unnecessary wear and tear but to each their own I guess.
