Why is there so much missing in the middle of the video? At 15:26 the counter shows 16 exits and 9 moons, at 17:08 there are 39 exits and 21 moons. So I guess that was from the next stream because the timer is reset. But where is all the stuff from in-between?

A lot of this hack's enemies are Japanese textboard in-jokes, with the main character being one themselves. The one with long legs is a DQN, which is a slang term for a dipshit, or some other type of stupid, disheveled, delinquent person. It is usually used as a form of self-identification, kinda the way a person might call themselves a neckbeard but it's also an insult.

Holy cow this skull platform level is hurting my head
I feel like a handful of these sprites drew inspiration from a game my kids are playing called The Battle Cats. Especially the long-legged ones and the Blargg copy.
I'm getting a Cat Mario vibe from the sprites. I think that was a old new grounds game but I can't remember. None the less it has a 2chan japanes Ascii art aesthetic.

I love how this hack is essentially a continuation of the old VIP Mario series, even if the sprites from that series are a little dated. Also nice Beloved Tomboyish Girl in the chimney.
