- Met up with my friend Alan in San Clemente to ride a trail that I have been wanting to for a while! After our epic ride I decided to take a trip up to Yosemite with Katie. This has been on my bucket list for a while. I have gone before but never rode my bike around. This was truly magical this place was beautiful. After seeing the movie Free Solo and other documentaries on El Capitan and Half Dome I really wanted to come back, seeing where they climbed up was insane!!!
I will be heading to Santa Cruz next!! Thank you for watching and can't wait to bring you all with me on more adventures of mine!

We did bikes in Yosemite and it was a rad way to see it. Just bring good locks so you can feel ok about exploring some of the areas on foot. Great content Heather! Love seeing you and Alan team up on videos.You both have great attitudes and energy!

Next time your at Yosemite there is a sweet little rocky trail back down from Mirror Lake where "Bikes Are Allowed" I stumbled upon on it on my first and only visit. Got to bomb down it for a minute to add some MTB action while pedaling the park with my family. Also the Groveland Trailheads have built some cool trails between Yosemite and Groveland. Kina like bike park meets trail. really fun. I have video of them both on my channel. Yosemite is rad, can't believe I waited so long to visit.

So glad you got to experience Yosemite Heather. It's one of my favorite places on the planet. Be sure to go back and do some of the waterfall hikes in the spring...beyond amazing! I'm curious, since you didn't have a reservation in a campground where did you park your van? Typically the park security is up all night kicking out RVs and vans that are on the side of the roads and in parking lots. If they didn't bother you that's great!
Alan is a fun and talented rider to watch too. O.C. has great trails. Chevere!

That looks like so much fun! videos like these made me buy a MTB to give it a whirl.. I'll be honest, I haven't taken it out like I should. Here in Mesa AZ and surrounding are filled with endless trails, hopefully I get this mental block out of the way and really get on it! Great vids! sub'd!

Yosemite is gorgeous... I was last there in 2001. But it's so crowded now (even before they instituted the reservation system) that I have no desire to go back. Sounds like closing the roads is a good idea and makes bicycling there the way to get around! I'm hoping to do a motorcycle tour of Yellowstone and Glacier over the summer, depending on crowds.

We went to Yosemite for 5 days mid July and took our Mtn Bikes, the weather was hot as heck, the valley floor had a layer of smog every day from all the camp fires, we barley slept from people clanging pots, blowing horns, and yelling ‘bear’ every 30min literally all night long, and there was no where to ride except the roads and paved bike trails full of tourist. Never again .. at least in summer.
I bet summer was a hot one. It was great weather when we went. I hope the next visit is a better one for ya
If you get back this way make sure to check out the trails around Bass Lake. BKXC channel has a great video highlighting them. A little tip for anyone wanting to do this Yosemite valley loop ride during the summer... make sure to park on Northside drive pointing out of the park, think El Cap area and west. The traffic exiting the park can be brutal, and if you parked on Southside drive you will be forced to sit through all of it.

Next time your at Yosemite, need to checkout the downhill trail 007 in Bass Lake. It’s so good!!! They are many different other trails in Bass Lake but 007 is the most fun and flows

I’ve been to Yosemite a few times but never for MTB, when I was younger of course and was not into MTB at the time. What about Sequoia National park? Ok, it’s about time I subscribed. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

Haha …. I was chatting with Alan just today. I’ve been watching his channel for a few years and we had a similar wrist injury within a few months (his was worse). I saw you on his most recent vid where he is demoing a trance x. He said you had been on some of his vids in Sedona which I’d seen but as I only came across your channel a few weeks back I had to go back and look.

Get a permit for Half Dome if not this year but in the Future. You can do the 16 miles in a day just start at 5 AM. I have done it.

Great shredding. Make you you hike yosemite falls. To the very top. Only 6 miles there and back but its tough.

Found Alan yesterday, you today (was the Coffee comment you gave him, I was curious). Have to ask, what do you feel is the most important thing to do to feel comfortable coming off jumps? Any gap jump is freaking terrifying to me, and otb is just out of the question, I just don't know what the trick is when I see people casually hitting jumps at weird angles and camber, landing back tire out of line consequence free. Do I need to build a jump into my pond to get comfortable in the air without dying before moving the landing back to....land, or what?

Cliff notes version: there is very little bike riding allowed in the actual Yosemite park except on the designated path in the valley.
This is true! But it was nice to have the bikes to cruise around from area to area.
I'd feel comfortable on this trail. Some of the trails in previous videos seem crazy. But I am 50 and more cautious
