I think it fits since his kit is mainly focused on long or mid range combat. 2. For the Mini Guac (E), make them kind of follow your cursor, so if you look to the right, itll move a bit to the right, while still going forward.
Dude, it is so unbelievably cool that you are doing this, I’ve always thought about trying to make a PvZ game like the shooters but I completely lack any kind of knowledge to be able to make a game. Also out of all the plants in the series I wouldn’t have ever considered to have Guacodile to be a class; seeing someone elses ideas on a project like this is so cool.
When you shoot the mini version of guacadikle, you should make the player be able to control it themselves, much like the dandelion and the camacosy imps from bfn.
Guacodile/guac croc variants: Reg GC Albino Croc (ice variant with less halved ammo but ice damage) Spicy Croc (fire variant that shots in a burst of three) Digital-Dile (Purple infinity item looking GC that shoots like scuba soldier) Tad-Mole (Tadpole GC that shoots lily pads that bounce off walls) Mech-crocodile (weak shots but high ammo count, legendary meter makes it automatic) If you have other ideas please reply to this with them

I think for the dash ability you could reference the thing Guacodile does when a zombie gets to close and make it push them a bit backwards and do low damage if you connect it completly Also maybe the little copies it makes could spawn 3 and go forwards in an arc while damaging and pushing people
A good idea would be if the ability that the guacadile spits gives an effect similar to the goop but a littlr worse, it would slow you but with the camera being freely movable
Ok one time I came up with this idea for a chomper variant called the chompire it had pale skin fangs and a cape and whenever it would eat something it would spit it back out as a bat that would fly around and latch onto a zombie and deal damage to it overtime.

This is looking really cool so far. I'm sure this'll probably be a long time before this is even close to done, but I wanted to answer the question you asked about artstyle: I'd say stick with your own models until later in development, then get someone else who can update the models. That way, you can make sure you like everything about the characters before someone else starts making the models. Also, if you can, try to get Twilight Chomper Enthusiast to help out. They've made a bunch of videos on GW3 ideas, and they might be able to help out with balancing the game and coming up with ideas. Maybe some other PvZGW2 RUclipsrs too. I'm sure plenty of them would be willing to contribute somewhat. Make the Mini-Guacodiles home in on zombies, or make them able to be controlled slightly after they're fired. Just seems fitting. And of course, you must stay determined!
Nice to see you're staying loyal to this project I was thinking maybe adding an armoured zombie, and also I feel like bringing your own unique boss hunts in could be a good idea. Unused, new, completely different game? Boss suggestion: Coffee Bean (You have to kill many mushrooms around the map in groups or else his health regens, would be tough + he's fast and hits high damage)
adding peanut would be funny and instead of walking he'd just roll sideways on the ground and when he's not moving he stays upright he would also be faster than most plants and would have more health but the peas that he shoots will do less damage

I think it will be better if you'll make the guacadikle a bit taller, maybe put it an a small mech or something, it just feels like it would be really hard to hit, also it would look cool if he would have something to help him walk rather then growling imo, but it's your choice, you know what to do

Garden warfare movement with sprinting might work if you add stamina example sprinting then bunny hoping when low on stamina just an idea i wanted to share
The mimi quac attack should have deployment and homing similar to the seeker sub weapon from Splatoon 1 You hold down E and the quac tries to lock onto any target, to release it you let go of E. Hold down the button for too long and the mini guac will go foreword automatically wether locked on or not, and it will explode if it hits a wall/surface
generally you could fasten up the development process if for example other people do all the visual stuff and you make the code for example, as far as i got it a lot of people are willing to contribute
Idea of character: plantern from pvz 1 His main attack instead of being a projectile will work like a lantern in cone shape that causes little damage but the longer the zombie stays inside the light the more damage it takes and it starts to catch fire as if it were a magnifying glass concentrating the light. The distance of the light is limited but it has Infinite ammo and his zoom turn off his light because while it is on it can alert other zombies but while doing so the recharge speed of skills becomes slower. Because it is not good at attacking in most cases the ability can be to support Ability idea 1 : Creates a light around it that lasts a few seconds and removes negative effects such as slowness, fire... on nearby plants but remains slow while using it. ability idea 2 : increases his light distance and make it pass through objects But it makes it so that it doesn't do damage while active for 10 seconds and makes your camera and character movement decrease, while actve will show every zombie inside the light to all plants ability idea 3 : it stops moving for 2.5/3/3.5/4 seconds Then shot a light ball that explodes in energy applying fire effect to zombies and creates a light that also reveals nearby zombies Variants could be light related things like lighting reed inside a nowadays lamp for the eletric variant or jack o lantern from pvz 2 (Thanks for adding my idea it really made me happy (Probably a lot of other people had the same idea too) and i would like to say a zombie idea but i know that you are already working hard so i will say next video)
nice video for the potato mine if that ever gets added i feel like yk how it has the little dots on it what if when you use primary fire/weapon, the dots pop out as projectiles and when you run out of ammo its the same as running out of dots, then you explode and another potato mine spawns so you get control of the new one the explosion and replacement probably would only be animation, no affect on gameplay

So lets say 100% Charge is 360(so all around) then 50% would be 180(so in front. or well..behind) As Guac would be turning around to Tail Whip. Not sure howd the camera would work tho. Id imagine itd just be Guac turns to Face Camera to Attack and the Camera also Turns? Again not sure how itd work and that seems like itd be a pain to do. So this is entirely optional. The Attack Radius Scaling or the Camera Work. On another note tho the Camera Turning would make Dash significantly better as a "Get Out" cause you wouldnt have to turn to the direction you want to Dash to. Itd mesh well for movement
What I would do it would be very hard to do but what I would try to do is reach out to PopCap old devs because the PopCap Dev stated many times that they would do this all again so if you show them what you were doing and your work they might actually be interested but hay maybe I'm just thinking too crazy

hey man, i’m back i know you’ve already heard plenty of sappy stuff from me so i’ll skip it (this time) just to answer the main question of the video, i think it would be better to get someone else to do the heavy graphics and whatnot. this is how i see it because if you’re going to make a game, you may as well make it look as good as you can, and because it’d likely take a lot of weight off of you so now you can put a lot more focus into maps, coding, ideas, etc. though if you want to preserve the “passion project” image of the game, it would likely be best to keep the help as local and minimal as possible. overall, you’ll be okay no matter what you decide. the people will still love you and see you as a hero as long as you’re able to produce a functional game, which it seems you are right on the brink of. i’m excited to see what you decide on, this is great stuff

I think, it could be really cool for a guacodile move, if he sort of had a hybrid between the football star dash and the chomped burrow. The top of his body would be visible as he dashes slightly underground and he’d be able to go under multiple zombies in front of him damaging them sort of like football star, but less knock back and more damage. Also I have some pretty cool designs maybe you’d want to see for characters so just in case where could I send them?…
I'd say just wait until you're at a point in development when YOU want to change/improve the art style. Until then, just focus on gameplay and such (Of course, I'm no game developer, so take this advice as you will)

What if you made the dash that guacidile does damage but move a little slower with start up time and the damage would be like 23 and make the primary a lil higher like 26 reg hit 32 crit the tail spin just spinning works with like 35 damage but with a lil end lag and a lil start up time the middle ability can make the mini guacidile a lil bigger and a lil bigged hitbox 8n exchange for like 3 less damage but other than me yapping love the project keep up the good work and this would be my idea

I’d say try doing interest checks/make posts on social platforms about this fan project to get people interested in spreading news/helping this project grow and to get people interested in helping with different roles they could take for it (character artists, 3D modelers, background/map design, concept artists, coding for updates and coding for patches)
I’m going to put the game on itch.io so I’m not sure from there if it will be compatible with the steam deck or if I will have to build in controller support

If you can figure out a way to get sprinting to complement abilities (and vice versa) then I think it could work out.

3:58 do you know where this game could be downloaded from on PC? (If that’s the platform it will be on) I have a steamdeck and I’d love to try it on that if it could be made possible
Not sure if Steam would accept this fangame as EA could most likely give a cease and desist or something bad along the lines of that (Let’s hope this doesn’t get the WCHB treatment… but then, EA seeing this fan project could make them think about the shooters, I just hope they don’t demand you shut this down and say something like “Play GW 2 or BFN as we don’t want to make a real GW 3…”
I’d say try doing interest checks/make posts on social platforms about this fan project to get people interested in spreading news/helping this project grow and to get people interested in helping with different roles they could take for it (character artists, 3D modelers, background/map design, concept artists, coding for updates and coding for patches)
I’m going to put the game on itch.io so I’m not sure from there if it will be compatible with the steam deck or if I will have to build in controller support
