Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiast. I contact each person who send me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up what happened after what we see on their video. Voice over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

Yep, a lot.
I’m in France and I have my license so I can say that : A lot of people makes less than 20 hours of lessons (minimum requirement) and the exam for license is really simple. Also, a lot of people give money to driver’s school to deal with the examiner (I don’t know how to say in English) and get the license. It’s very common.
@@AzYx1 yeah it's too easy to get a licence in most countries, that's why there are so many bad drivers causing accidents. I think he word you're looking for is 'bribe' they pay money to bribe the examiner for their licence. you've got better english than a lot of english people i know, lol.
@@AzYx1 France's driving exam is much harder than America's where you basically don't have to do any difficult maneuvers or know much to pass. I'm not sure how hard the exam is now but its common to have better drivers in Europe than America

facts, but accidents do happen but not 8 times in a row. 100% this was on purpose how can you not tell that you hit something in front of you...

I’ve seen people absolutely lose it while panicking in a car wash. Once they make 1 mistake it usually just compounds.

If resorting to self-help is going to be encouraged, rather than calling the police, then don't be surprised when the other drivers avail themselves of the same privilege. Someone vandalizes your vehicle causing hundreds or thousands of dollars in damage, I guess you have the right to make sure the criminal can't flee the scene before the police arrive. 🤷♂️

You will most probably find they were just doing something with their phone and wandered off track just as the bike approached. They might not have had any idea that a bike was there, everyone just assumed that it was deliberate. Of course it doesn't make it any better not paying attention to driving.

Im confused, because in germany its mandatory to do a drive on the highway in order to obtain your license, and youre very clearly told how to do it properly (atleast i was told so). But lets not be too harsh, we all started somewhere and all of us did mistakes before

Always always, and do not switch lanes unless you are going faster than the car in front of you. No reason to drive 60 mph at 1 am all the way on the left lane when you are likely to exit on the right some miles ahead

With the angle he had when merging on the highway there was no way he could even check his mirror for traffic he just did it completely blindly. That's scary to know there's people like that on the road.
yup so focused on getting around the guy in front that he lost sight of anything else.... such a new driver attitude.
He was probably also assuming that the car accelerated enough so that it wouldn't be an issue... Crossing the white line is one thing but not even trying to check for traffic is another.

That "high speed chase" reminded of that time when some police chases a drunk guy who stole a steamroller... It was 5 minutes of adrenaline-filled chase at 2-3 mph 🤣
No matter if it is legal to lane split or not the move that SUV made to block the motorcyclist could cause serious injury to the motorcyclist. So yeah, what the motorcyclist did is just fine, the SUV driver deserved it.
2:22 Did the SUV driver intentionally try to block the motorcyclist or were they just a stupid driver? As a motorcycle rider myself, I think the SUV driver was just a stupid driver and the motorcyclist should have waited a little bit before proceeding to split lanes.

@@Russell_L365 That was 100% intentional. Did you see how as the motorcycle got closer the SUV not only moved closer to / slightly in the other lane but they start to use the vehicle to their front right to help block the motorcycle.
I'm not saying motorcyclists don't need to be cautious though. This SUV driver though was using their vehicle as a weapon and they deserved what they got.

They do and that is why the kid bumping the Tesla 8 times wasn't an accident. He obviously put it back in gear once it was inside the wash. He also had a steel brush guard on the front of his truck so he knew it would only damage the Tesla and that no one would see it happen inside the wash.
Dumb kid but looks like his insurance company daddy took care of it for him and made sure he didn't learn a damn thing. Insurance company daddy probably thought it was funny that his son did that to some stupid electric golf cart that wasn't a truck like a normal person should drive.
While I don't think you should smash a rear view mirror. I can't exactly blame the motorcycles either. That driver could have killed the motorcycle because their ego was hurt

The clip with the guys crossing the intersection with the dogs....
if you pause carefully or freeze frame... the car DID IN ACTUAL fact hit both dogs that were leading and runs back to the owner in fright and possibly in pain.
If you look carefully in the "slow motion" part of the clip you see the breed of the collie dog gets hit by the car @ 5:37 and the biege Labrador also gets hit and starts to limp for a second with its right paw as the dogs run back in the opposite direction past there owners😞
P.S i own a 2012 Honda accord euro type S and would really love to own a tesla or would love the new (Honda E) but to be fair here in the UK ive seen first hand tesla drivers perform some stupid manoeuvres to the point of carelessness, maybe we could have on the channel "TESLA TICKLE" aswell as "HONDA BUMP"

It's not good to happen, but as a motorcyclist myself, I know only a motorcyclist would understand.
Any crazy idiot in a car who purposely moves over or does something with their car to interfere with a motorcycle is in our eyes an 'attempted murder'.
A motorcycle is completely vulnerable and death will be the result, it's happened too many times by car drivers who just think they're blocking and have the right to.
It seems that way to us, so don't do it & this reaction wont result.

As much as I hate the general idea of "lane splitting", if it IS legal in Ontario, then that guy in the SUV was way out of line. If he complains to the cops, he'll get a ticket for more than the cost of a new mirror. Oh, and I doubt he'll try that dick move again....
In California I think it’s actually illegal to block the path of a lane splitting motorcycle for safety reasons.

I normally do that out of courtesy if the left lane is empty but I've never seen a car merge so dangerously in my life. Specially in one of those cloverleaf intersections where you have a low speed coming in and very little time to accelerate and merge. Tesla is 100% to blame.

2:52, I'm a motorcycle rider, most of the time I will avoid the gap between vehicles. I didn't feel safe about that. Yes, it is funny that I'm not in a car but behave like in a car. But, I prefer doing it that way. waiting a few seconds or minutes won't hurt.
People who smashing mirrors just have problems in their life or can't control their emotions.
Or they are angry that their life was put at risk while commuting to work and following the law. People swerving to put motorcyclist in danger deserve jail…. A broken side mirror that costs $500-$1200 to repair is the least of THEIR worries. Sure, the motorcyclist could have been cool about it, but then the car driver would have learned nothing of their behavior. I believe the high cost of their behavior will make them less likely to kill a motorcyclist in the future. But, I could be wrong, this could be the catalyst of a murder spree.

I feel for the driver Mateo encountered at the 6:33 mark--I've had that happen to me, going 55mph down a freeway in winter. Tried popping the hood before leaving, because dad wanted me to check the oil in our Buick LeSabre before I left, only to find it frozen shut--it didn't pop open, and I couldn't get my fingers in to raise it up. Since it hadn't moved at all, I shrugged, and figured I'd check the oil before going home again. Once the engine had warmed up the area around it, the hood unfroze, and the hood release was still disengaged. That plus the wind going into it was enough that the hood popped up completely. So glad I was in the right lane and could pull over quickly!
That toyota driver in the car wash would have been getting a smack after coming out of the wash, no way that was accidental.
Clip #6, Shetty is a real pile of it; you couldn't safely pull over, wow. You were directly behind the accident and against a concrete barrier to your left; in bumper-to-bumper traffic but, you couldn't safely stop to see if aid was needed or provide the recording of the incident, incredible! You literally had to stop when the accident happened so, in order to selfishky go on your way and not do anything, you had to work your way over 2 lanes and through bumper-to-bumper traffic to get outta there: solid citizen you are 👍

5:00 Classic LAPD not pitting the car while the police near me took out a Tesla semitruck with a police semi truck
6:12 I think the driver was on AP and wasn’t familiar with what the police officer was doing. In almost 2 decades of driving, I only learned recently what this police maneuver was for.
The Model 3 was not on AP. The driver changed lanes without the blinkers on, hit the brakes when the CHP was moving toward their lane and crossed the white line and drove on the shoulder.
@@Russell_L365 Ah good catch with breaking the shoulder line. Could have been on AP, zoned out, up until he came across the traffic break, didn't know how to address the situation and panicked and just gave the officer a wide berth thinking they could pass.
Truck deserved to lose their mirror. Since lane splitting is legal, it was earned.

5:58 This method is used here in Germany often, when there's something on the Road (like Car parts, dead Animals or else), The Tesla probably had Autopoilot engaged, because everyone else Slowed down, but the Tesla didn't. Or it's just an Idiot trying to get through this Situation.
I think it was just an idiot. The Tesla slightly crossed the white continuous edge line. Autopilot would not do that in this case.

It was unacceptable for that SUV driver to block the motorcyclist, but it was also unacceptable for the motorcyclist to do what he did. There is NO good excuse for road rage.
Edit: Also props to that Nissan Driver. He can parallel park better in the middle of a crash than most people do normally.

That Tesla that drove past the cop traffic breaking was 100% on auto-pilot and not paying attention. Too many of those auto-pilot bypass devices and people falling asleep.
Unfortunately, that autopilot nag function is way too annoying, especially if you're a good driver. If you're used to set your car on the intended course, then stop making inputs while still holding the wheel, it will nag you every 15 seconds. I tend to do that, since there's no need to make a course correction if the car is going in the direction you want. It's quite annoying, especially considering my last car had a really responsive steering (just a few grams of force would make the car veer slightly towards that force).
So yeah, on longer trips something might or might not be done about it.

3:20 This happens A LOT in Texas, I was on a roadtrip to Austin, TX and I saw multiple cars cut across the metal poles that separate the lanes, I wish I had my camera recording, lol
(The metal poles were very low and ment to be bent in case of an emergency, but will cause some damage to a car)

I’m pretty sure the mustang owner was upset because they car is totaled. Also the Mustang is stock, it may be his first high horsepower vehicle so he wasn’t used to it. 5.0 mustangs are cheap so many people get them as their first cars and crash them easily because of that

The Tesla owner offering the video was not too smart. The mustang owner was racing his car so his insurance co. was not going to cover it. The video would only solidify what he was doing was not covered.

I'll never understand how lane splitting is legal in places...this effectively means car drivers are either suppose to stay exactly in the middle of the lane at all times, or else drivers have to constantly (and dangerously) check their mirrors every second or two. smdh

No. 4.Spliting and filtering is LEGAL. Reckless driving 4 or more wheeled vehicle's need to stop trying to wreck motorcyclist. Mirror smashed is the least that drive should expect. wearing a GoPro to charge these kind of drivers with reckless driving. go 4 convictions this year, against these type of people.
If you damage someones property, even if you think you're justified. Don't be surprised if the guy swerves and runs you over. All he has to say is that he thought the motorcyclist had a gun or something and he won't get murder charges just wreckless driving and manslaughter
