This is probably my third favorite episode, its just that good (of course the other two being 9 and 10) As someone who is autistic myself I definitely see myself in Norma.the whole reason she wants to work at Phoenix park is because Pauline is her hyperfixation.Norma infosumps alot
I myself am on the spectrum, and I can tell you that social anxiety is a real thing. I'm always wondering how people are gonna take me. Most say that if someone doesn't like you, it doesn't affect you. Actually, it does. Aside from bullying, there are real consequences of not being liked. People are more likely to assume negative stuff about you, which has real world consequences. If that person has more social capital than you, then it's your word against theirs's. Evidence may not be effective. Yes, I might be being a bit dramatic, but like I've said that anxiety is real. And being on the spectrum means people may misunderstand anything you do. Such as Norma's smile. Autism is a nightmare. Edit: Also, when I meet someone who tries to use empty positivity and flattery on me, I've learned to assume that they may have ulterior motives. But I wasn't expecting this.
I’m autistic and used to not have social anxiety. I was always introverted, and was never a fan of social events, but I was never against making any friends either. After years of being bullied, taken advantage of, not being able to read people or their intentions, and overall just being excluded or mistreated, I think I’m at a point now where I definitely say I’ve developed social anxiety disorder. It’s a shame the world is this way to those who are different 😓

Courtney is definitely my favorite in the show so far, and she is voice by Emily Osment if any of yall didn't know. Star of the show young and hungry, or to those of us who grew up on disney she's Lilly from Hannah Montana.
I liked this show right off, but this sold me on it. Norma is just way beyond relatable here, like it's one of the best portrayals of that kind of anxiety I have seen. The real world is way scarier than any nightmare could ever be.
