    I think you missed a important topic - how do the differences between the materials go with sweatiness etc as they are made with very different percentages.

  • @Flamdring
    @Flamdring Год назад +16

    The downside is that they cost about 10x the price of a normal sock. Depending on the model, Injinji's durability is also laughable: after three washes, the colour fades away and the fabric starts to tear after three runs in them (less than 10 km). However, some Injinjis are much more durable, yet the price is still not justified.

    • @TheHealthyTeacher
      @TheHealthyTeacher  Год назад +1

      This is a general downside of the socks, yes. But for good quality socks you pay more anyway.
      I have found these mini crew injinji socks have been pretty durable so far so I’m hoping for the best! Can’t speak so much about the Vibrams in this respect. Would you recommend another brand?

    The injinji are expensive, but absolutely worth it.

  • @_el.guapo_

    I 've got 3 Injinji models:
    1x Run Lightweight No Show Merino Wool
    1x Run Lightweight No-Show
    1x Run Lightweight Mini-Crew
    I tried all of them with my Vibram KSO EVO.
    The Lightweight Mini-Crew model (the grey-purple ones you've got) is the best fit.
    They all have a thicker edge on the top of the sock (it's under 1 inch thick)
    and I found in the No Show models because the top is shorter,
    it tends to rub against the inside of the heel holder of the shoe.
    So, I would definitely advise to get the Mini-crew models and avoid the No-Show models.
    That mistake cost me 30€ 😭but that's why I bought 3 different models.

    • @TheHealthyTeacher
      @TheHealthyTeacher  Год назад +1

      Thanks for your comment! They are very expensive. I got these on an offer and they were still 18 euros! I think I’ll stick with the 1 pair I have, ha!

      @@TheHealthyTeacher 1 pair is all you need. But I was so annoyed with the No Show model.
      The edge rubbing against the back of the heel holder is really annoying.
      It creates a tiny gap between the back of your heel and the heel holder
      and that makes you feel like the shoes are too big even though they fit like a glove.
      Maybe it's just me but to anybody reading that comment, go for the Mini-Crew. That model is a perfect fit.

    • @TheHealthyTeacher
      @TheHealthyTeacher  Год назад

      @@_el.guapo_ That does sound very annoying. My girlfriend actually bought some cheap ankle versions and I hated them. I am considering a long wool version, have you seen them?

      I've seen these 2 models:
      Injinji Outdoor Midweight Mini-Crew Wool
      Injinji Outdoor Midweight Crew Nüwool (and Wool version too).
      The Lightweight No Show Merino Wool I've got feels good in the sole
      but I've heard reviews that they deteriorate much faster than the synthetic models.
      Maybe these people are not wearing them with 5 fingers shoes.
      In these shoes, they fit perfectly snug, there is no room for tearing them apart.

    I've only used Injinjis and have always been happy with them. Injinjis have 4 different available levels of thickness though, so you may be using the thickest Injinjis and the thinnest Vibrams?

    Glad I saw this. Video .I have always used Injinji but was a tad disappointed in that they have changed design a bit in the one I have always used. So I was looking for alternate toe socks but after seeing this video will not be going for Vibram even though their five finger shoes are super great.. I don’t have an issue getting my Injinji socks on, after getting the toes into the sock I spread my toes and put the sock straight on. All toes slide straight their individual pocket. For those that may be scratching their heads wondering how to spread you toes, use your foot muscles.. I know, I know some of you are thinking dah! That’s dumb and obvious. To you and me yep I agree but you would be surprised the number of people that think they need a third hand to do this. 😂😂

      I second the vote for Creepers brand wool toe socks. They are quite comfortable. I have 4 pair that I rotate thru and have been wearing for the last year. They have held up great. I wash them in the cold water cycle with my other dark clothes, but I do not put them in the dryer. I hang them to dry.
