**Note** Now we know why Knighton hasn't raced much this outdoor season - there was an initial suspension where Knighton tested positive for trenbolone, but he has since been cleared by USADA. Read more here:

Damn. That’s wild. I wonder why he got reinstated but Shelby Houlihan is still banned…seems eerily similar.
Is knighton eligible for the Olympic trials?
@@thedailystride5407 Big star bias maybe or his case had better backing evidence
Regardless Tren would be a suboptimal PED for an athlete to take in general like it’s so easy to get caught for Tren from PED testing

I'd be very surprised if Bednarek doesn't make the team. He's ridiculously consistent too. Fred Kerley is the dark horse.
He is also a dark MAN, but come to think of it, so are all the others in strong contention.
@@vernonfrance2974 racism?
@@vernonfrance2974One of the most unnecessary comments I’ve ever seen on this platform lol
I hope that Erriyon is in good shape right now, but it is very hard to know. While many people are writing him off for this season, the only reason he wasn't competing (as far as I am aware) was because he was waiting for a doping trial to be decided (he was cleared completely - not found to have been doping). I think it's safe to assume that Erriyon has still been training hard, so I expect him to run fast this weekend and make the team. I'm thinking 19.7. Still, Kenny and Noah are looking better than ever, so I expect the team to be the three of them once again.
If Erriyon is running anywhere near the way he looked in that 4x1 he's definitely going to be on the team. He can use the rounds to get in race shape.
Yes he's in shape he's DOPING right now 😂

I predict Knighton shocks the world and runs 19:27 at the trials. He’s been training in secret. Plotting.

TRENing in secret. Sure he has.

Something about Lyles clowning on then 18-year-old Erriyon at the US Nationals while just barely winning the race never sat right with me. What's that all about? Says insecurity to me.
Why would he be insecure since he's pretty much always beaten him? Lots of people are simply arrogant.
I totally agree. I’m not a fan of any showboating especially during the race. I feel like knighton and letslie are the 2 who can get close to 19.3 which we all saw Noah run a while back. Can’t wait to see these games
@@jamescaricola6439 Noah Lyles is still improving, so with a better 60m, 100m (and also 150m) time, he should also improve on his 200m time and might break the World Record.
@@veganpottertheveganstill makes no sense, showboating on a kid who’s like 5-7 years younger when he barely managed to beat him
@kalee9304 it doesn't have to make sense to you. I wouldn't do it either but sports would be extremely boring if everyone acted the same way
Athletes sometimes do this. They don't compete in their main event until it matters most to supercharge their hunger for the win.
Coleman to bednarek to knighton to lyles would be an INSANE 4x1
Ooooh weeeeee sounds great to me
I follow sprinting a lot and this channel is half decent.
If he didn’t have the trenbolone investigation that has seemingly just wrapped up clearing him as it stands now (APNews, 6/19), I’d say his silence was a positive. I actually love that he’s not running a ton. The Olympic final is still 50+ days away. He’s going to need to run a total of SIX times to get there. That’s not including a possible tune up between trials and games somewhere in Europe mid July. Last cycle he ran 4x in the 200 alone before trials making that double digits at global championship speed under intense pressure. Thats too much for him. Noah struggled the same In the 2021 cycle as he tried to double. There’s a reason bolt knew better than to only go sub 20 when he had to and Noah learned that tough lesson in Tokyo.
If Noah tries to triple and hits the same troubles as the last games , he’ll stumble in the 100m before the 200m. But that could dent his confidence enough to create an opening. Bc if someone can challenge Lyles, it’s Knighton. At this point it’s just a matter of when not if
He may and should still get suspended by the IAAF/WADA
@@veganpottertheveganit’s touch and go. Journalistically I had to present it like that. But commenting with nuance yes , I’d say personally as a fan of Knighton I’m not optimistic at first glance but ultimately for reasons I’ll mention below, they’ll stand down and he’ll run. But this surely was distracting for him… it likely won’t be the best version of him.
It’s factually correct he was cleared but ultimately an independent arbiter does not wear the pants here. I followed up when his lawyer’s comments and it was confirmed USADA was there along with WADA. The entire point of the hearing was it was expedited. This technically does not satisfy the criteria for “forming a causal link” he fell short of that. We have precedent in Houlihan who got 4 years for this. And important Will Claye who WAS cleared and I think the latter will be the big one. The issue is Claye was cleared after USADA’s investigation, the question becomes now as I see it: us Jeanne Charles “independent” enough and does WADA want to risk a lost wages and damages suit (USADA in this case) similar to what Tyson Fury did for his meat fail almost a decade ago? The high profile nature and especially stakes I’d argue for this are higher than even the heavyweight champion. the season the hearing was done this way in the first place was to get a good result before trials. If they go at this like they did with Claye or standard procedures, Knighton could be still ruled deemed to run which is why that Claye ruling is HUGELY beneficial. Bc that’s a massive gamble. If there’s precedent of a running being cleared, and a runner was smart enough to get an expedited ruling delving into science, USADA and WADA now have a reason (or cynically plausible deniability) to clear him. Legally, it’s much easier to justify this as they’d have to INITIATE legal action to challenge. It was really smart how he did this. And my understanding also is bc of the format, the hearing details remain sealed atleast for now . If they don’t challenge the ruling, I’m not sure if they ever release unless leaked. Which again is a major plus for Knighton as there’s less scrutiny to those who object (again I’m being realistic with how this works and how people think). He’d have a good case for lost damages given the clearance could stand legally if no action is taken. That action taken would open them up if they end up clearing him bc he can’t run under protest. The amount of money an Olympic medalist could make is enormous. And it’s reasonable he’s got a very good chance to medal.
Net, if he didn’t have this hearing, I’d say right here right now, we would not see him until maybe next world championship. Maybe. But, bc of the fact he actually got the source of the meat on record and had individuals from regulatory agencies at his hearing to actually be able to consider his evidence, as well as a looming decision needed to dictate him running at the most important event of his career, I think they will cave. To be fair, it would still be unprecedented. USADA just lost the UFC… financially they aren’t buzzing. So I’m not sure their war chest is ready for battle with an Insanely high profile athlete/stakes case. I also don’t think it’s a dangerous precedent. Normal athletes under normal circumstances won’t get this treatment. USADA and WADA can simply say extenuating circumstances such as the nuanced trials process of track and field to qualify for Olympic competition dictated such a situation. A high earning boxer for instance despite purse bids being tens of millions of dollars at stake, can always move their fight back. You can’t move the Olympics. For that and that fact that they did pursue independent arbiter despite it being a sole arbiter which again doesn’t help here, I still think they come to an unprecedented decision and choose to stand down. I support American sprinters in particular but this is a violation of strict liability plain and simple. But I realistically understand it’s never that simple and legally we have cases proving that. People don’t appreciate the gravity of his situation.
Sorry for the novel but adding to the original comment for context. Either way, I don’t think this is good for his running. The stress will not lead to a good performance and Noah won’t be as fast next games. This would likely be their last epic showdown at the highest level for both. I think Knighton will improve dramatically still but never will share track like Paris st their heights
@CYMotorsport the issue at the end of the day is that WADA explicitly states that it's an athletes responsibility to avoid accidental ingestion too. And has repeatedly suspended people for that. Also, if Knighton hypothetically medals, that's also a potential lawsuit from every athlete in the finals that doesn't, on top of people that don't get to the finals thanks to Knighton. It's much better to enforce the rules which every athlete in the testing pool signs onto(I was in that pool for 15yrs). This is certainly a huge case. But it really doesn't need to be. WADA explicitly mentioning accidental ingestion absolves them of any lawsuit and really only leaves the door open(a very small door at this point) to suing the lab for producing a false positive(really probably 2 false positives😂) but not so much with them getting the samples from the restaurant
on point analysis
@@veganpotterthevegan wrong he's been cleared go away hater
Regarding Knighton PEDs positive test and him being cleared
The only thing I’ll say is Tren would be an extremely silly PED to use tbh.
The reason I say is, it’s not a bio-available PED (very easy to detect) some has a relatively long half-life (although some types have a shorter half-life) and it’s more of a muscle builder than recovery PED which athletes would rather prefer the latter (sprinters shouldn’t overly be getting built tbh)
I’m not saying he’s not taking PEDs but Tren would be a silly choice of PED
Make sense why he wasn’t running now though
I don’t think Knighton is gonna be in the frame of mind to run fast
Taking PED's that you can claim came from a burger isn't silly at all.
@@jonnynice8366Athletes I can’t stress enough need to be careful of *everything* that goes into their body, does that mean they can do everything the average person can do unfortunately no, however that’s a part of his job
Really and truly everything an athlete eats they should know where the source of that food is coming from in an ideal world
@@jonnynice8366As an athlete you need to be *cognisant* of everything that enters your body. Do that mean you can’t eat outside as much as the average person, yes and of course that’s a shame but this is literally your whole livelihood
Everything that goes into your body it should be accounted for and ideally you should know where it comes from
@@RANDOMZBOSSMAN1 You mention it being more of a muscle building PED. I think that fact only makes it make more sense that Knighton would take it. We saw how Noah Lyles improved his raw speed through putting on more muscle mass this past season (as seen with his PR’s in the 60 and 100). That is to say that putting on muscle does improve speed to a point. Considering Knighton is only 170 at 6’3 him wanting to put on more size to better improve his explosiveness and raw speed does make a lot of sense imo.
@@madlock1315 I agree that more muscle to point is good for sprinters for sure but with tren it works *really well* almost too well for those who are athletes and might make them too heavy affecting their drive phase, bend running and overall speed and leaving them more prone to injuries
That combined with the fact the threshold to pop positive is so such lower compared to other things just makes it a somewhat non optimal thing to take, similar to Clenbuterol that if you’re a serious about running a program these are the sort of things you avoid
Knighton definitely needed to put in some lean tissue mass though
Super excited for this one

We just found out when he hadn't competed. It was a positive test that he was cleared of..it's good to know it wasn't an injury. I'm sure he has been keeping in shape but he is still at a disadvantage but if we take his age into account I think he is OK because that youth will allow him to bounce back more quickly than someone that's older
The other thing is is when you hire the best people you become the best I love Noah’s documentary that he did when he introduced everybody on his team that dude hired everybody who is the best in their field he got a damn psychotherapist
the finish was to show all doubters that he was able to do it, that wasn’t against knighton

Knighton should be team USA's third leg.
Erriyon should run 200m+ 400m not 100m+200m. He'll then realise his talent lies at the 400m😌😊
Ahhhhhh man it's hard to say for now. They maybe a surprises
Noah showboating used to bother me too but now I love him for what he doing for the sport. He cares deeply and is doing something about it. As good as Kung Fu Kenny and Knighton and Coleman and many others are… they can’t carry the torch. His confidence is real in all aspects of his life so I have learned to put that distaste for showboating aside and realize it is his unapologetic personality that is bringing fans and attention to track. It’s not like he’s Woke or making any kind of social mistakes. He is just him being supremely confident and not afraid to share his goals out loud. Just saying.
@scottellis5324 Pride comes before a fall and people should practice good sportsmanship which I consider showboating not to be.
@@vernonfrance2974so maybe clarify. If you belittle someone then I would agree with you. If you are confident and say so then I have learned to live with that. Sydney is the opposite. He was cleared. Why would he be suspended lol
@andy_runs305 don't know how this works do you? He was only cleared by USADA. It wouldn't be the first time that a local body cleared someone with the international body suspending them afterwards.
@andy_runs305 USADA wanted to clear Shelby Houlihan. The AIU didn't and went to the CAS who ruled to suspend her. She also used the same excuse. If this wasn't an Olympic year, USADA would have likely sat on this longer.
