It's an excellent monologue choice to show off the accent, because that passive aggressive, damned-by-faint-praise style of speaking is also associated with the Southern accent. I tend to assume that 1. Clark's powers grew stronger as he grew older, so he has had time to adapt to their needs, and 2. Ma and Pa Kent spent a significant chunk of Clark's childhood practicing being delicate, specifically so he didn't hurt others or possibly himself. Clark then uses those techniques to help other super strong heroes adjust.
As a fan of short king jason, I see a lot of people talk about how malnutrition in early childhood can cause stunted growth for the rest of a persons life and how the lazarus pit is the only reason jason ever made it past 5'6 at all (implying if he never died he would have remained short) which, ya know, I can respect that idea, but it's so much more fun to imagine it did jack shit. My man is out here dreading the (closer than he likes) day where damian gets taller than him. I'm also such a fan of how short jason appears in the new Boy Wonder comics, short king jason rep we deserve.

The way I see it, Superman might not be fully aware that he's holding back his strength when he does normal human things. He learned how strong he actually is from a very young age and has likely been learning how to hold things super delicately for most of childhood. At that point it's probably just subconscious, like a habit. Sometimes I'm not fully aware of my habits unless someone points it out and I think with Superman it's a similar situation.
Fun fact: Jason Todd returned to Gotham RIGHT after Stephanie Brown's death. He COULD have called out Bruce on losing a second Robin, especially since this one was partially Bruce's fault. But... Editorial was trying to forget the Stephanie Brown angle at that point. Stephanie's death and identity as Robin were public knowledge, reported on in the news. Why didn't Jason know about her? Jason shows up in Hush in 2003. Stephanie died in 2005. Under the Red Hood was 2005-06. Jason should have known.

Interesting thing on the Short King Jason angle. I was a practicing martial artist (taekwondo) for many years, and while I've fallen out of practice, there is one thing that I think is important that doesnt get much attention. First: if two martial artists are of roughly equal skill, you usually want to bet on the one who's between 5'3 and 5'6. At that height, you're not missing enough reach for it to be a problem, and you're deadly fast, because you don't have to lug around 6 feet of muscle and bone. The idea that Jason is 5'5 or so would actually lend to the idea that he's a deadly martial artist. Not to mention, it's a lot easier to hide when you aren't head and shoulders above the crowd.
I love Stephanie Brown and I fully believe that she and Jason should be besties. 100%. and big agree with a previous commenter who said adding Duke and making it a trinity of Gotham kids is a good idea. Steph is so underrated and Duke is great too and deserves some recognition as well !

And Jason is so embarrassed that he mourned (and went on a Gotham sized rampage) over a Not Actually Dead Robin that he just... never talks to Steph. And prays his family keeps believing what they believe about his Red Hood debut
Well I think Superman being able to crush diamond doesn't necessarily mean anything less is being obliterated. Yes he has the capacity to SQUEEZE more than I can but that doesnt mean his peak is his 24/7 default. I can turn an egg or glass into shards if I GRIP it hard enough but I can also just....grab them without applying that force immediately?

2bh, i think what helps is that when people tend to put on an accent they tend to be more dedicated to doing the feeling than when they're reading shakespear because they have etc. a little plus might also be that a heck ton of people reading shakespear these days tend to be from big cities where the accents have shifted a heck ton. I mainly grew in the west midlands of England. The accents there and the west coast oldies speak very much as if they're still using old English (i.e. og anglo saxcen or even old german). Shakespear sounds quite fun with those accents ngl.

And considering the league would have done the same once they raised Jason from the dead... welllllllll yeah lolol. Jason can absolutely be tall, and it would make sense that at the beginning he would be padded up/have higher shoes like Batman. But in his later 20's he absolutely could be taller and bulkier. Our brains don't stop developing until age 25-26, and even other parts. Given lazarus pit, it's not that far fetched Jason's ENTIRE body would have been able to grow to what it would have been like if he was given the "perfect diet" and exercise. Given lazarus pit, it's not that far fetched Jason's ENTIRE body would have been able to grow to what it would have been like if he was given the "perfect diet" and exercise. Also, Jason was cited as being a late bloomer right? I could have sworn I read that in a comic somewhere... regardless late bloomers don't stop growing until their 20's. Soooooo personally I like him growing bigger because of the circumstances I listed above. If Jason wasn't given lazurus treatment I'd go hard on the short headcanon, because that's HILARIOUS! But yeah... lazurus treatment for me = tall Jason lolol.
