Omg... I just love this video! I love how you shared your trial and errors with us! I’m not sure I’m comfortable making this myself but it’s definitely worth giving a try. Thank you for sharing. I’m so loving all your videos 🙏
Yay!!! You're back!!!!! Absolutely loved this video and the direction your channel is going in. Will miss having weekly videos though! Will definitely be giving your more natural version a go 👍👍👍
Missed you, you're back! And I will miss weekly videos from you. But I am so glad to see you and your version of a $40 luxury hand wash. Thanks for another great DIY as always.
Your channel looks so professional! You are gonna be a huge channel! I love the content and the your videography is amazing! You are gorgeous and very knowledgeable. 🤙🏻❤️🙂
I always love how you break everything down. I personally stay away from SLS and SLES ingredients altogether, so I will try to make this with another surfactant.
Hello, I love your videos! They’re very informational and easy to follow. Recently I have been looking around for a nontoxic hand soap and even the clean brands that are rated 100 on the Yuka app have shady ingredients. I was wondering if you would consider creating a video on how to make a simple hand soap. Thing are really starting to feel helpless, so you’d truly be a lifesaver.
Thanks Elise. I've had success with several of your recipes and I'll definitely have a go at this one. I would love a recreation of the Aesop Hand cream. It's by the the best I've found.
Hi Elise, I know it’s an old video, but I just wanted to let you know that what ruin your first batch was the electric whisker, I’m not sure if it’s with all surfactants but SLES doesn’t like electric whisks nor immersion blenders, not even salt fix that, also when adding salt if you use too much it will water down the formula instead of thicken it, I’d found it sweet spot is between 2% - 3%, another tip, is that SLES can be thicken up with cocamidopropyl betaine if salt fails, I hope this helps
Thank you Elise, that was so very instructional and informative, a huge thumbs up for dedicating your time to experimenting, certainly after my own heart there. One thing I have learned re thickening which as we know is an absolute nightmare even using gums which sometimes look very successful in the beginning but after time can settle on the bottom in a gloop. Adding the C Betaine as the last ingredient actually does thicken the product, why I don't know but it certainly makes a difference. Thank you again.
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!, I found it today and I am very happy to see how much value is in it. Thank you and and I'm sure you will build an amazing channel ... To be honest, it's already an excellent channel 😊.
Great video! subscribed! Glad you didn't give up and showed us your first formulations! Its looks like so much fun trying to make Aesop Hand wash. I managed to make the body exfoliator, took me lots of attempts but I didn't give up and now have the product in my bathroom. I do have all the raw materials for it and I might give the hand wash a go too, thanks for sharing your ideas and alternatives. Also Iselux (SLMI) is a wonderful anionic surfactant if you can get it. Nice production on camera/sound and editing looks fantastic. I'm in Australia and we have Aesop stores here so we can try out all the products, they are really lovely, the scent however is really difficult to copy. I have tried the geranium fragrance but it's just not the same. Look forward to seeing more of your creations!
This looks great! I love the version you did that is more gentle and I think I actually have all the ingredients on hand so I’m looking forward to trying it. Well done on your cute label too. Your videos are so relaxing and fun to watch, thanks for sharing them :)
I think coumarin would be a really cool ingredient to use for scent. However its quite expensive to buy pure coumarin just for this purpose but tonka extract also contains lots of coumarin and it works well with lavender and myrrh. :) love the video
Beautiful ❤ and makes me smile thinking in order to create something 'luxurious' (not my favourite marketing word) imagination and passion are most important
Fun fact that I learned wasting a lot of product: sulfates should be combined as one phase (phase A), glycerin water and others in another phase (phase B) and essential oils (phase c), then adjust the pH and then add the salt, it should be between 0.5 -1% if you use more the product will be liquid no matter how much salt you use. It is important that the pH is adjusted so that the salt also works. Hope it works for someone.
Hi elise I think you should make a video on how to make a simple hand wash amd not a expensive one as there are hardly any other videos on RUclips on how to make a simple hand wash
I am looking for the "Reverance" Scent... and I was reading that they use fine milled pumice... @WholeElise... I hope you read this... and I hope you can reverse enginner the Reverance collection as well... The bergamont smell is so delicious in that recipe plus the pumice is perfect for scrubbing hands exactly clean.....
Hi i know this an old post but wanted to try the hand wash and confused as to whether your saying i need SLS OR SLES? I hope you get this! I have also subscribed so I hope there will be more of these as really informative Thank you! Kymberly
Thanks a lot sharing all these formulas. Your videos and explanations had cleared all the hypothesis about the luxurious brands. Can I start a small business following your formulation. What will be shelf life of your products Please help me out
Hi, great video! I am glad I have been looking for how to make hair gel it brought me to your channel.! Have you study chemistry to be a chemist? All of your videos are amazing in the formulas of ingredients to mix in making hair and skin products! Wonderful to make something yourself by just trying and it comes out very well. Your W logo looks like Walgreens. Lol! I just had notice right away. Very professional presentation and narration of DIY. I don't like Sodium Laurel Sulfate which is a foaming agent that is used in commercial hair shampoos, body washes, tooth paste and dish washing liquid. I have issues with SLS that of drying the skin and allergies. I have to avoid it at all cost. What is the name of the essential oils you use?
I love you’re channel! I would really LOVE it if you could try and recreate: ‘Image daily matte moisturizer with SPF 32? After seeing this, it really made me wonder, why it costs 49 euro’s? Lot’s of Love From Belguim!
This is amazing thank you. I have just found you and subscribed. I will definitely be experimenting with making more of my own products. Can I use this from naturally thinking instead of presevertive Eco? - Dehydroacetic acid & Benzyl alcohol (GFecosafe / Preservative Eco equivelent) Only because I can get everything else there and its close to where I live Thank you again
hi can i request something? i have this skincare that i really want to recreate but its so hard to formulate. its a yogurt sleeping mask that has peaches extract in it. want to make it into a moisturizer as well. the ingredients are: Water, Stabilized Coconut Milk, Vegan Yogurt, VCO, Glycerin, Benzalkonium Chloride (From Salt) Peaches and Cream Natural Fruit Extract, Cetyl Ctearyl (Plant derived from Coconut), Lactic Acid, Ionic Acid (Anti pathogenic, Anti fungal) Pro Vitamin B5, Natural Alpha Tocopherol (Antioxidants) Vitamin C, Sodium Benzoate (From Salt)
Absolutely! Guar gum has better viscosity compared to xanthan gum but I tend to have hit or miss experiences with it - I definitely want to experiment with it more though 😊
I did the final version, and it smells like chemicals... is it because of the surfactants, or am I doing something wrong. I did use the essential oils ( the store bought, doesn't)
Thank you for making this video. I really enjoy the whole process. And you are absolutely gorgeous and elegant. I do think aesop is so overpriced. But they do a good job on branding and marketing tho.
I am having the same problem... I have tried adding oils to moisturise, but it keeps separating. Did you manage to sort out this problem? And would you be willing to share?
This recipe looked good, but then I went to the website and saw the formula. SLS has an active matter of 95%, so in this case, there is 36% active matter from the SLS alone! Hand washes shouldn't have more than 15% active matter in total. This is more than twice as strong as it should be. Is there anything I didn't understand in this recipe?
ingredients that represent 1% or less of the formula are not listed in their order of predominance, so the order of the essential oils listed doesn't matter.
Just watched a walk through of the worlds most expensive house in LA 300mn odd....and saw aesop hand soap there.....then checked the price and nearly fainted....I have been cleaning my sink with something aesop I got as a gift as I dont like the scrub in it!!! Hahaaa!
How'd I do? Try making your own Luxury Hand Wash here: wholeelise.com/blog/diy-aesop-hand-wash/ 😊
Your content is amazing 👏🏽👏🏽

I watched until the end...thanks for the sulfate free version. I'm making this!
Sles to capb ratio is also important in thickening
I wana make big quantity please mention formula big quantity

Did you end up make this recipe? How did it turn out? :)
I think coumarin would be a really cool ingredient to use for scent. However its quite expensive to buy pure coumarin just for this purpose but tonka extract also contains lots of coumarin and it works well with lavender and myrrh. :) love the video
Can you do a reverse "kinky curly knot today" video please? I am very interested in the properties of the listed ingredients.

Thanks a lot sharing all these formulas.
Your videos and explanations had cleared all the hypothesis about the luxurious brands.
Can I start a small business following your formulation.
What will be shelf life of your products
Please help me out
I was wondering for your 1st phase, how long does it take for everything to melt? :)
Hi Elsie. What other product can one use for this great hand wash besides Phenoxyethanol?
I loved your natural version ♥️
But in this version you didn’t use a conservative, is it necessary?
Thank you for sharing.
What label company did you use I really like the wrap around look
Would be nice to have the direct links to purchase the ingredients.

I think guar gum would make a clearer handwash as ashops..
But I haven't tried that...
It a great DIY ♥️
Absolutely! Guar gum has better viscosity compared to xanthan gum but I tend to have hit or miss experiences with it - I definitely want to experiment with it more though 😊
Hi there, I can't get easy access to peg-40 castor oil, but I am able to find peg-50 shea butter, would that likely work as well?
I did the final version, and it smells like chemicals... is it because of the surfactants, or am I doing something wrong. I did use the essential oils ( the store bought, doesn't)
what qualification would you recomend to learn all of this information, please?
Cosmetologist
Thank you for making this video. I really enjoy the whole process. And you are absolutely gorgeous and elegant. I do think aesop is so overpriced. But they do a good job on branding and marketing tho.
Haha definitely, and thank you so much! 😊
Great video! Where did you get the labels?
Thank you! I made them myself 😊
Hi where can i buy these ingredients? Ty
You're pretty and smart🥺
I am in the process of making your Luxury hand wash,
Do I need preservative eco and citric acid in this one? X
Hi. Is there anything that can be subbed for the hydrogenated castor oil?
Awe, this girl is so cool. Thanks for the information, I’ll try to recreate you more natural version.
Cool!
I think your creamy body wash is much more luxorius and mostiurs the best. Thanks for your experiment anyway. Greetings from Chile
How do you make your labels ?
You could try Agar Agar to thicken
💗 your dupe video
Thank you! 😊
Would you consider making the Reverence Hand Soap?
Something is missing. This left my hands a little dry. What can be added to make it more moisturizing?
I am having the same problem... I have tried adding oils to moisturise, but it keeps separating. Did you manage to sort out this problem? And would you be willing to share?

Can you teach me how to do the body wash?
can you please do an aussie hair product dupe
Is any one else jealous that her glasses fit her so well?😂
Pls tell me the alternative to PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil as it's not available here in my home country Pakistan
Hello, do you share the template for the label?
Hey can you show us to natural extra hold jam please
Great video, but you also need to add in the cost of the bottle and the label.
