Superb. Reminds me of the Walsh&Clarke ploughing engines which also have a twin cylinder opposed engine. Roughly 5litres per cylinder. Only 12 were made as they were so unreliable and had a habit of the gudgen pins working out and scoring the bores. There are two of these engines at stowmarket museum of rural life in Suffolk U.K. the two there were sold as a pair and have spent their entire life together. Great video. Nice to hear an old machine running properly!!!
+Lloyd Wilkinson, and on the topic of beasts they'd do anything to get rid of oxen and horses. I don't know anyone who wasn't happy to get rid of those beasts.
it resembles a steam locomotive. I am thinking they tried to design it based on a steam engine with a internal combustion motor lol. The hybrid between external and internal combustion
The engines are mounted longitudinally on the frame, with one cylinder facing the front and one protruding into the cab, but yes it is a boxer type crankshaft arrangement, it produces a smoother series of impulses compared to the single throw designs.
Ah yes boxer engine, although both pistons would be TDC at the same time, I'm guessing it's a 4 cycle engine and they alternate power stroke? I don't suppose what you say about smoother impulses would be true if it was 2 cycle. Is only reason I would assume its 4cycle.
Great looking tractor. You have done a great job with it. Here is a link to our Museum here in Vista, Ca. I go and enjoy all the old tractors etc. almost every year......www.agsem.com/ Doug. :)
god what an awesome sound, you could dance to that beat
Still my favorite! Beautiful restoration and it runs like a clock. I love that rhythm.
Had to turn the volume up to really enjoy this. What a sound!
Sounds even better with head phones on.
Love the sound of this engine.
Wow. That's a really nice-looking tractor and what a noise!
A half mile long
Pistons the size of watermelons
30 horsepower
I love old tractors
chasebh89, The 30 stands for 30 horsepower to the draw bar and the 60 stands for 60 pulley/belt horsepower.
Never seen one of these before I love old traction engines and stationary engines this combines BOTH and has a beat that needs CLUB MIX!!!

Und Sie rocken den Acker ! Schönes Video !! Nice sound´s !
Back before anybody knew what a tractor was supposed to look like.
Man! what a beat! Makes you want to dance!!!
What a gorgeous sounding machine! What does it run on, blood? Bodies?
Organ Music, They run on kerosene, most tractors of that time period also ran on kerosene.
I'm from the UK, I think the majority of our tractors in those days were still powered by steam.
My Dad would have said "takes the whole back forty (acres) to turn it around!!"
Its like something from War of the Worlds .What planet did it come from.Wow
That's music!
Beautiful ..
i want my truck to lope like this 😂
it resembles a steam locomotive. I am thinking they tried to design it based on a steam engine with a internal combustion motor lol. The hybrid between external and internal combustion
20 horsepower, 2000 ft/lb of torque. Will run for 100 years
Love the sound. Does the square radiator mean it's oil-cooled, like a Rumley?
John Shadle, I think these tractors are water cooled, I'm not to sure.
I think it means that the exhaust goes through the radiator to draw fresh air through the fins instead of using a fan
A music machine.
tractor? its the size of a house!
if i knew more about music i could probably use this as a beat lol
That thing is intimidating
It's wonderful
Das war noch echte Wertarbeit
History chugging along
i wonder how much these cost new in their day, and how people afforded them
9. H.p. and it can drag a locomotive!
Wow!!! What a brute.
Opposed twin.
30 hp on the drawbar.
60 hp off the crank??
60 hp from the belt drive I would imagine.
wow..that's awesome
SO MANY GREAT COMMENTS *****
How many Cylinder engine is that ?
Nice Base to the engine.
Its a thumper!
How exactly do you mean opposed? Doesn't look like a boxer engine

I could sit up against a wheel and let it rock me to sleep
what an ugly monster-but it sings beautifully.
Still used today in North Korea.

Remember the times when amerika was great.
Yeah.. back when men dressed and acted like MEN and knew which bathroom to use....
