How beneficial it would be for Doug to have a “Joe Rogan” style podcast. A long-form discussion with influential and knowledgeable brothers and sisters in Christ. No specific agenda in the conversation. Something raw and natural and most importantly, of the Spirit. I would subscribe.
Hello from South Africa! Canon Press has strengthened me so much over the last few months I've been binge watching your videos. Thank God for people like you who are willing to speak the truth in these trying times. God bless!
This is some edifying fellowship, thank you men and all those involved for going through the effort of capturing it so we can tune in and sharpen our iron too!
What!!! I just stumbled on this and I’ve been a longtime fan of Theology Pugcast as well as Doug Wilson. I’m immensely grateful to these gentlemen for their teaching and example
I've been suffering immensely from self doubt of late but this is like God is speaking directly to me. I had no father figure growing up but just literally have recently done my first engine swap, am currently building my family home myself and just shot my first deer a few days ago! Three of three. I'm also a software engineer in my day job...
I really appreciate this, I'll be getting the bundle. As a guy who's Father passed away when I was 12 it has been tough. I don't recall anyone ever asking how I was doing. I pretty much pushed it all down and pressed on with a stiff upper lip. Not really a healthy way to deal with it, thank God for my wife, she's the only one that listened to me when I finally let it out.
This was great. The contributions from each seamlessly weaved together into one coherent message-a message that is constructively responsive to culture and edifying for believing men.
Excellent, excellent dialogue on a very neglected subject in the church. I deeply appreciate the thoughtfulness brought into the discussion, such as dominion vs. domination and leadership vs. lordship. So much good stuff here. I’ve been trying to put together such resources for men and I will be adding this to my Manvotions X-Tended Cuts playlist to make it accessible for other men. Thank you for your work! I’m looking forward to getting my hands on this book.
This discussion really resonated with me. I’m currently participating in a men’s fellowship going through Tony Evans “Kingdom Man”. I should be receiving the Dominion bundle soon and look forward to assimilating more of the things that a godly man should be in order to be a godly influence. I am so appreciative for the sharing of your collective wisdom and experience.
I've seen that curriculum from Tony Evans, and I would warn you that it is completely heretical. He's into preaching a false gospel which is self centered. He supports CRT, and says men are the reason why the church is so racist. He has a tendency to be very loose with Bible interpretation too, sometimes coming up with new information clearly not in the scripture.
I guess I'll have to read Doug's book because he focused on asking the other men questions and sprinkled in his proverbial wisdom on the spot. I still only know the title. Thankfully my bride ordered me the bundle for Christmas!
This is a great discussion. I’m excited to get the collection in the mail! Especially excited to read Michael Foster’s book as I love my dad and my dad me, but he definitely didn’t teach me enough of becoming a biblical man. I don’t blame, him but I definitely want to raise my sons as men of God.
_Old Tom Bombadil is a merry fellow;_ _Bright blue his jacket is & his boots are yellow!_ _Hey dol! Merry dol! Ding a dong dillo!_ My favorite, and disastrously misunderstood character form Tolkien’s works. Love the convo!
This helps me get my life in perspective. I read and read and read but there are not many men available to guide me in practical application. Only thing available to me so far are these babling spooky ghost men who rather teach me how to rely on a spooky ghost to help me through life by providing magical food and ability. It's been the bane of my life and a stumbling block to my living to the Lord and coming to the Lord and the source of all kinds of evil and grumbling. They refrain from teaching me actual life skills, something given to us for stewardship by God; instead, teaching stuff which is not profitable for the spirit nor for living. They somehow miss the fact that God is logical and God made logic and all things are made from through and by Him. All work is designed by God. Instead they burden us by neglecting to teach and provide, while placing more burden by dumping onto us the responsibility to save men by interacting with a spooky ghost. I hope they find the spooky ghost they have been praying to.
Seriously? Tolkien's works are fictional stories, not scripture. Tolkien was never outright foward about whether he was a believer or not. If you want to look for analogies, try C. S. Lewis, am outspoken Christian.
You know I'm watching Mike, and I expected to see the 3 of you enhancing this conversation with fine Kentucky Bourbon and scotch or at the very least a strong pot of coffee. Lol!
Interesting discussion! Didn’t get the early-on comparison of the blue collar guys who can supposedly do everything hands-on versus the white collars who were more academic and artsy. God didn’t create us all to be the same type of man. It’s okay. Part of being a godly man means that we stand firm in who the Lord has gifted us to be and move out into the world seeking to bless others with our gifts.
You realize that these three men are pretty white collar, right? The point is that if all of your skills fall into one category, then you're at a disadvantage. It's fine to be a computer programmer, but you'll probably want to develop other, more manual skills as well. And the converse is true. If you're a diesel engine mechanic, you will want to develop your literary skills as well. It's not either/or, it's both/and.
Love these guys. But real manliness is knowing that Saruman is an evil wizard, and Cerumen is that gunky brown stuff you have to clean out of your ears once a month.
So is it the act of domination, the ending of heaven and earth, that then officially bookends the dominion of this age? Are they literally opposite modes?
Hey this is some deep wisdom, very convicting. Thank you for posting this wise conversation. On a purely academic note, the color grading on the closeups of Doug is way off. And the blue backlight is not flattering either.
Thank you for sharing. I read this yesterday and thought this was funny, "THE FOLLOWING information may be of interest to you: A new scientific study has revealed that, if your parents didn't have children, neither will you. This points out a biblical reality, a pattern that God has established: we produce after our own kind." Ray Comfort
Physical male or female are used in stories that is about birth being explained under the sun and law effecting all man. Hints about what was man before creation is ignored by flesh and blood called first Adams that's blind about Psalms 82:5They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. 6I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. 7But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. 8Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
How odd. My mom is in her 70’s and I growing up I regularly saw her smash spiders with her bare hands and she even killed rattle snakes with a shovel. It’s good to be a woman. I never knew it was bad until people like you recently started making claims about women that are ludicrous.
I disagree to an extent. We shouldn’t be ruling with or for power, but for authority. To desire power, is to desire to be stronger than another in a way that diminishes the other. God gives us authority, not power. Only true power on earth and heavens is God. Jesus had both authority and was gentle. Gentleness is defined as strength under control. Power is destructive. Authority doesn’t have to be.
I find this "when a woman complains about something she's looking for companionship" thing annoying. I'm a woman and what I always want is a damned solution!

This is GOLD. Get IN PERSON with other men, discuss and APPLY these lost arts in your church or community of churches. That IS Kingdom building.

Yes, finally Michael and Douglas together on a podcast.
This was great. The contributions from each seamlessly weaved together into one coherent message-a message that is constructively responsive to culture and edifying for believing men.
"Women are the kind of people, that people come out of" best quote from Doug :)
Second time through and after a share with my sons I want to say; THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN!
Brilliant hour of discussion. I’m thankful for you guys this Thanksgiving.

I have the upmost respect for These three brothers here.
As a man goes, goes the household, as the household goes, goes society.

Really humourously insightful conversation, a pleasure to listen to, as always
"Not whether but which." Not whether people rule, but how. Great video--looking forward to these books!
Great conversation
Bought the bundle a week ago because I want to build a mens group proper. Can’t wait for it to be released!

Gashmu not only an online critic, but one of the blue checkmark variety.
Is Bombadil akin to Melchezedek is any way?

We watch the series every Christmas season...my husband has always said that he wishes Tom was included in it.
The link to the Dominion-bundle is not working.

Can we agree that CR Wiley is the Christian George Clooney?🤣🤣
Yes! The Bible has the first Ocean's 12 as well.

Jesus washed his disciples feet as a servant leader. So that IS a biblical image.

Love these guys but 2 of them need to apply what they say to food and exercise as well.
The only criticism of these types of talks i have is that they are always ambiguous about nearly everything.
