Your husband sounds as sweet as mine , he doesn’t care how much I spend on yarn nor that I have a room full. It makes us happy 😎 and happy wife = happy life
Hi Anna, thanks for this long episode! You gave me the perfect idea for some of my stash: as soon as I finished at least one of my WIPs, I'll cast on a scarf like yours (I think - and hope - 400st will be enough for me). 😎😘
Dear Anna, I am thrilled to have found you. When I searched tutorials on how to knit miter squares, yours was simply the best to understand. After knitting 10 squares, I am addicted. But my scrap sock yarn isn't very colorful, so I decided to just make a pillow instead of a blanket this time. You are such an inspiration to me and many other people. I also love to knit socks and bake sour dough bread. My husband and I grew up in Switzerland but have lived in the US for close to 50 years. Thank you for sharing not only your beautiful projects but also your life's philosophy with this group of knitters from all over the world. I love your authenticity; it's a joy to see you being "real." ❤
You are so inspiring to me, thank you!! I love all you do with Opal yarns, the crochet scarf is amazing as well as all the socks! I am so intrigued with your idea for the blanket using all the bright new Opal yarns! You are still going to be selling Opal yarn?
Yes I continue selling Opal yarn. But after a collection is sold out I can’t offer it again because opal provides every collection only once in a lifetime.
Love your Saint Patrick’s day colorway🥰 I have ordered my first Opal abo - I have always loved Opal - I want to make a blanket with domino squares and with Opal leftovers - I don’t have enough scraps but maybe someday Thank you for a love podcast Hi from Denmark 💐
Glad you found your knitting moyo... the vanilla socks are lovely... and what trickered me to react was the clottered cream. I would love to hear how you make that yourself.
I didn’t do the original recipe yet but a very tasty substitute: I whipped cream, added double the amount of mascarpone and a bit powdered sugar and stirred it. That’s it. The original recipe takes about 12 hours 😬
I’m so happy to see a new podcast from you. A few hours before you uploaded this one I had been watching a few of your older ones…just to have a knitting friend in the room with me. 🥰 I love your March? colorway! It’s perfectly dyed - my husband lost his job in November or I would order some. As far as your Opal subscription goes, I was surprised you canceled it but I feel relieved for you. I personally have 312 skeins of sock yarn - not including Kroy and Serenity 50g balls or my minis and scraps-It’s overwhelming. 😣
I am sorry to hear you husband lost his job. I will keep his search for a new job in my prayers. 🙏🏻❤️ Thank you for feeling the burden of a big stash with me 🤗 I am really looking forward to knitting through the pretty yarns I already have.
Hi Anna! I only want to answer one of the knitting questions. Yes, we have arguments about wool and stash. Every now and then my husband complains that something knitting related is laying around everywhere. And I ask him, if we need this much mini trucks and cars. He is a collector of these. On the other hand, he made me the most awesome and thougtful advent calendar last season. With full balls of yarn, notions, knitting needles and a knitting needle set. And he was the one who was disappointed at some items. I love everything he gave me. And he loves everything I make for him. He is proud of my skills. So, I think our fighting is not really serious. About knitting for men in my family. My husband likes the most colourful wool. More than me or my daughters. My dad wears his blue/green socks most and my brother every sock pair I made for him. Pink is the only colour nobody wants. Have a nice day. Judith
Oh that sounds like you need a knitting basket or another place to put your projects and tools. 😄 I agree with you. I don’t think it is a serious fight between you and your husband. ☺️ Tommy prefers the manly colors but would like to have lighter colors for contrasting heels and toes. I was really surprised that he even cares about things like that. 🤭
@@annaknitter Putting my projects in containers started "The Chaos". It´s not that bad by the way. There are only 3 spots. But out of sight, out of mind. I used to put my wool and my projects in bags and boxes and never knew how many I had. Now my project is laying on the table, ready to pick up and work some rows. No hunting for patterns, no searching, just sitting down, knitting a little bit, till the next interruption. That works for me just perfect. I
Hello Anna, I began following you during Blogmas and enjoy your videos. I have never bought a subscription and probably will not. I do knit socks but I have a large extended family and the teenagers (grandchildren) are requesting sweaters which makes me happy.
I also canceled my yarn subscription. I have enough sock yarn for at least 2 years and receiving more is a burden. You have a lot of wips, but I would love to see you start a blanket with that beautiful yarn. I am making 3 blankets currently myself - 1 is scrappy. Can you have too many blankets? I don't think so. I love your scrappy gloves! Red yarn is less common and the combination of colors is really beautiful! Thank you for the surprise video. I enjoy your podcasts very much. I'm glad your mojo is back 😊
What subscription did you have? Are you considering subscribing again after you have reduced your stash? No, you can’t have to many blankets. I use my blankets all the time and I like to switch them out every once in a while. My husband enjoys them too. I have a blanket in every room 😁
@@annaknitter I had a Yarnable subscription - 150g of sock yarn a month. The yarn was beautiful, but between the subscription and the Advent yarn calendar I purchased in 2023, I had more yarn coming in than I could knit in a reasonable time. We talk about doing what brings us joy and using/appreciating what I have brings me joy. *I have yarn/patterns for 2 shawls and 1 infinity cowl, and I don't wear those items - thank you for the reminder about Make and Pray! I live near EWTN (Catholic network) and will send miraculous medals blessed by the priests in Alabama to accompany the items. THAT brings me joy. ☺
Good morning I'm glad to see you again I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful person i think you are.can you please tell me how i can get your sock yarn and can I get it in the US. be blessed my friend.
I live in the states and my daughter, who lives in Germany, gets the opal subscription for me. I do share it with another knitter. We take turns with who picks first when the yarn arrives. 😂 I would get stressed too if I had to knit up six skeins each time. All of your items are beautiful. Can I ask how long you knitted your fingerless mitts? Thank you
I love all of your episodes. Thanks for sharing. I think it's great that you cancelled your subscription. I get stressed if my stash gets too big also. I hope your knitting brings you more and more joy and that you get to start your blanket soon.
Sorry I was a bit behind with watching vlogs. Oh my, you stopped the opal abo?, can't believe it. I have also a big stash with opal abo balls, but I don't mind 😂 When I wash my socks in the machine, they always pill. It doesn't matter which yarn I use. Do you turn the sock inside out when you wash them? Or do you do them in a sock net?
I was think about the opal subscription...suppose you recieved it and put 3 skeins in your shop? Then people in the US could have a chance to get a skein? Sorry if I am enabling!!❤
Hi Anna I love watching your podcasts, your such a sweet person. On your last vidio I believe in dec you were going to share a pattern on a hot water bottle cover. Was wondering if your still planning on doing that. Thanks in advance that would be great❤️
Thank you 🙏🏻 Do you mean I wanted to share the progress on my project? I know I wanted to knit another one but didn’t start it yet. But the pattern is already available for free on my website: www.annaknitter.com/product-page/hot-water-bottle-cozy

Hi Anna I'm really enjoying your new podcast. Could you tell me please what weight is the Opal wool you use for your socks. I love hand knitted socks and the only weight I could get in my wool shop is 4 ply. Which I think of as fingering weight. Is it available in dk weight?
I have fingering (425m on 100g), sport weight (420m on 150g) and DK weight (320m on 100g) sock yarn by Opal in my shop available for purchase. I have knitted all these weights into socks. DK weight socks are more something for house socks, slippers or to wear in rubber boots or something like that. The other two weights are great for socks to wear in normal shoes. Was that helpful?
Anna that is so sweet. Make and pray is such a good thing to do.

Listening while I wind up my yarn for my lent shawl. Every lent I listen/read the New Testament & knit a shawl. Looking forward to the lent color way!
And your St Patrick Day socks are so beautiful 🎉
