If my spray paint is a paint and a primer, what else do I need? (I know I need to sand the keycaps) Also, should I spray paint the keycaps with one color before hydrodipping?
AAGT That’s all you need :-) just spray them with primer before starting. And after you have dipped them let them dry for 24 hours. And after 24 hours you can spray some clear coat on them;-)
Would this work if I used a clear/transparent paint, mixed with white? My LEDs in the keyboard shine through my keycaps letters, and I thought it would look nice if I extended that to the whole keycap.

So just water, spray water with paint, dip the keycap, and spray with coat?

@@ethanhaley5439 this is my first time too. You should try dipping some different things before going for keycaps. Just so you get a feeling how to do it😊😅👍

Alexyz The paint will hold longer if you use finisher👍
Very cool- hoping to do a custom build soon. What type of spray paint do you recommend? I was also thinking about adding water slide decals to the side.

You can cover it with some tape
Can I use a pair of tweezers to dip the keycap instead of using a screw? I'd rather not jam anything into my keycaps, thanks

Does this work with pbt caps as good? Also, does coat feel slippery? Mine other ones arent nice finished and i have some texture/grip on them, i dont want it go wasted

Just some cheap paint from a carpenter store
What grit sandpaper did you use and what clear spray paint did you use?
I think it was around 300 grit. and the clear coat was just some cheap spraypaint i bought in a store.

No they are actually still looking great. no scratches or marks on them :)
