  • Got a healthy start on the next 100 foot section of fence. Another 30 feet and we will have enough cleared to put up that 100 foot roll. There’s a light at the end of the fence tunnel.

    Thanks for the shout out, looks like you are making good progress. I test my generator every 6 months. I do a test on a really hot day in the summer, and a sub-zero cold day in the winter, I normally run my house for about 2-3 hour on it. I had my first blackout on it the other day. We are off one of the main feeds into town, so I have ever only had 3 power outages in this house. I was out from about 11PM fro 4AM this time. I fell asleep and just stayed on generator all night though.

      The longest I’ve ran mine was when we had several tornados touch down. It destroys power lines. We ran the genny for 7 days. I stopped it once to change the oil. Now, I have a very small genny as well. That’s to run one window AC so I dont have to run the big genny overnight.

    To avoid confusion, I’m calling George a “red neck lizard”. It has a fine red flag there.
    I know they’re called American Anoles or something and I used to catch it for calling them chameleons.
    Those things will eat any bugs around your window sills if your lucky enough to have one in the house
    I miss them. They can’t hurt you. Once , I caught one in my hand. It was as soft as silk and when it was trying to bite me with all it had, it just tickled. I apologized and let it go.
    Wow, those Texas thorns are wicked. Except for the absolutely viscous thorns on our Hawthorns, they’re usually three times longer than our local varieties of nature’s concertina wire.

    That is a very good job on the brush that I'm glad that I didn't have to do. I'll just stay in my air-conditioned house. It is supposed to be around 100 here with a higher heat index.

    i use them smaller propane tanks and have been looking into getting a cpl 100lbers but ive been looking at the ones that come with wheels on them if i can catch them on sale
    on my lil hand truck i found solid tires at tractor supply to fit it they had them on clearance for some reason so i grabbed all of them and had enough to do the wagon my wife uses too

    • @bctruck
      @bctruck  Месяц назад +2

      I thought about solid wheels but the inner tubes were just 8 bucks a piece and moneys getting tight. Those 100 pound tanks are 170 pounds when full.

    Agree 100% - Neighbors are for emergencies. Same for the kind folks at church. I ain't asking if there's a solution to a problem that I can find another way to resolve. BTW, it's been a while since I've even tried to wrestle with a 100 pounder cylinder. Used to move them with an the very same type of handcart.
    I'm surprised that ya'll tackled that brush in this heat. We're hitting the same heat indexes. Yesterday, it was about all that I wanted to do was walk to the mail box. Here, today is supposed to be the last warning day, as storms are due to push it out tonight or tomorrow. I'm also a 100% sure, that with all that sweating, Dew does you far more good (electrolytes) that the harm from the sweetener chemical.
    Hope your day is cooler. Avoiding briars and finding easy ways to solve problems.
    God Bless. Godspeed.

    I don't know how you do that strenuous work in the brutal heat! You must flush a gallon or more of water through your body in a couple hours. Everything has it's price. A lotta LAND means a lotta WORK. It's worth it. NEW projects always pop up just as you're finishing one. A path to the propane. That's gonna be a lotta bags of concrete mix.
    At my age, when a new project pops up I ask myself, "can I get by without this project?" The answer is usually YES, and it goes on my list of projects that will NEVER get done by ME. If absolutely necessary I will hire it out. My electric bill is killing me because my A/C runs continuously. Rest up and have a Happy Day!
