I would imagine that if the engine had been in you would have seen parts of the shredder come flying out as well ! You will notice even the second machine slows up when the vehicle has suspension to chew through .

You really don't understand how it works do you. It will create a pile and a MAGNET excavator right next to it will feed JUST THE STEEL into the other type of shredder that turns it into chunks OR the crusher that turns it into cubes. And THE REST gets loaded into a truck and goes to landfill.

It looked like the rust bucket van from that old Japanese meme. It eventually became the best firewood hauler I ever built. My uncle gave me 5000 dollars fer the geo. An it is currently used by my cousin whom still lives in my dead uncle's (his dead dad's) house. He inherited everything after his mom ran off with her "lover" to Mexico. My uncle died 5 years after my supposed second aunt ran off with a douchebag so damn white, at night he looks like a dying neon stick. But my cousin has replaced the olds 350 to a Buick 455 from 71. A Electra engine. An he gained bragging rights out where he living with the thing when he out ran a dipshit local rich guy in a Ferrari. A beater geo built junkyard style. It looks like the engine has been removed because you don't see engine parts flying or the gearbox for that matter. obviously, that is not a whole car then as something as hard as an engine may not get through. It's like these shredder videos that claim to shred hammerheads, anvils or railway girders etc (and you see them rolling around on top of the teeth) when obviously everything has it's limits. impressive piece of machinery though.
At around 5:25 you can see the Renault’s engine and gearbox rip away from what remained of the body and get shredded at 5:50.
