Thanks for the video sir I am a construction engineering technician student and it was really very helpful 🙏
I really appreciate the information you've provided but I have a suggestion, it would be better if you make the video a little less distracting by removing the extra effects and random text animations for people to concentrate on the video. Thanks
This video was really helpful. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I am glad you benefited
Thank you for your detailed explanation. I am an architect from China. I am now living in Canada with my family. I decided to get the BCIN in the near future. I consulted George Brown College, which is considered one of the major training institutions, but I can't figure out whether I need to pass the exam of all 16 categories. Watching your video helped me understand BCIN exam better, I only need to pass 2 of them base on my interest. Thank you so much to providing such valuable information! Is there any more detailed explanation for the categories of small building? For example, if I want to engage in residential and small commercial design, which category should I choose? Thanks!
Hi Junlin - I am glad this was helpful, a legal and small building will be enough to take care of those projects you have mentioned, There are more explanations I can provide, Feel free to reach out at admin@dexarchi.com for more information
Thank you for making this video. Looking forward for more !
much appreciated information... As architecture technology student I'm planning to get my BCIN license...
Good Luck Sara :)
As an individual with an architecture license from a foreign country, what would you recommend, getting a license through IAP or a BCIN. Also what would benefit in the longer run financially, would you be able to submit drawing to the city with a BCIN?
I think this question is worth having a full video about, but shortly can tell you BCIN & becoming licensed through IAP are two different pathways, with BCIN you are not an Architect, you are only a designer, whereas IAP will lead you to become a Licenced Architect, The financial aspect of both depends on how you practice with each of this designation, For example: are you work in the city as an examiner with your BCIN or are you running your own business and creating your clients profile, it is all depend to your mindset and goals
But you should always remember that the title of OAA is a different category and you are in a different status, kind of like a comparison of the normal car with an advanced sports car, they both are cars, and they both take you from point A to B, they both use the same gas, but ....
Yes- you will be able to submit drawings to the Town with your BCIN in the capacity of an independent designer and get a permit for a construction project in limited scope, ( usually Part 9 OBC TYP, buildings )
Great video! It’d be good to know more about P.Eng vs BCIN. A similar comparison to what you did with OAA and ARIDO. Can someone with a P.Eng perform the same work that a BCIN person can do ?, etc.
Hi Hamza, we might have a video like that in the future, but in resposn to your questions, the P.Eng is a professional engineer who holds his qualification from Professional Engineers of Ontario, if you want to run your own as a P.Eng in your discipline you will need to have Certificate of Authorization generally speaking In Ontario, professional engineers or firms who provide engineering services directly to the public must have a Certificate of Authorization,
Thanks for the best information you shared. Do you have any specific course for interested people for BCIN?
