John just never got over the death of Freddy they were such good friends that is just couldn't go on without him so he retired God bless his heart he must really adore and love Freddie he just couldn't handle Freddie's death
In truth, it was John Deacon that made the first move to get Queen's money that was owed to them by so many studios- He bought a 40,000 house and the band was so impressed, they saw the side of John who was strong and had such good business sense, they didn't make a move without checking with John. We still love you John Richard Deacon..
It has been said that the greatest tribute to Freddie was given by John by all but retiring after Freddie's death. Lead vocals are the spirit, drums are the heartbeat, guitar is the energy and bass is the soul.
His smile is everything . He’s a man of a good character the fact that he’s still married to the very first woman he married in his youth shows a lot about him and doesn’t connect to his fame and profession. And he truly loved Freddie , if everyone can be like John Deacon then the would could be a very peaceful place.
I often think about Deacy and what he's doing these days.. kicking back, relaxing, and enjoying retirement without the whirlwind lifestyle and all the stresses he once had. I'm sure he's the best husband, dad and grandfather to his wife, kids and grandkids, and I hope they all know how much of an impact he's made on the lives of all his adoring fans. ❤️ We still love you, John 😘
It seems many people speak of John as having a history of depression. I love John deacon so much. I always feel 'spread your wings ' was written for Freddie (a shared memory of him slogging away at various jobs to help his family as a very young man). I know it is probably really for everyone who has ever been devalued, stepped on, yearning to find freedom and creativity but I absolutely love that it was recorded without back-up vocals, just Freddie singing with passion and raw emotion. There is such a deep empathy and profound understanding in both the song and Freddie's voice. We will always love you Freddie. Always.
And John, you are beautiful in every possible way...
Love your comment, Juliet Lambert... Hoping that someday John will find this video and read all the nice comments here! 💚💚 💛💛 💙💙 🎵
00:29 Just me or freddie's head has burned🤔🤔🤔
Yup, I saw that smoke from Freddie's head, too..
Just seen it 😮😮
Its just vapour from sweat.

Greatest bass player ever! Enjoy the rest of your life.
I love you John Deacon! Very important musican for Queen! ❤🎉
John Deacon is a hero to me. I love Queen in general, but John is a fave person of all time for me.
John wherever you are, I know Freddie misses you as much as you miss him and I miss you both dearly.
One of the best bass players of all time
I've always found John Deacon the best looking of the group Queen. I find it a shame that he hasn't done anything musically since leaving Queen.
He has some amazing yet so much underrated songwriting skills
Deaky is one of my favourite, I love this video, Its rare to see people doing tributes to John Deacon in my opinion, But can we just look at Brians smile when freddie says 'one dump, one turd, two tits,John Deacon', I literally love all the members! I love Our Dancing Queen Deaky!
Love John. Best bassist , oh yeah ❤️
It seems he gravitated towards Freddie Mercury in friendship and role model (professionally). All in all, such an awesome bassist!
Spring your wings is my favorite song of Queen, 💗Jonh Deacon , great man 👏👏👏👏
You meant Spread Your Wings
I love Deaky with every fibre of my being. He’s so underrated. I wish he still talked to the boys but I understand why he doesn’t :)
He does, he's still involved in the business side of Queen
Kayleigh Natasha ouu really? Didn’t know that
Yeah
Yeah Brian and Roger said that he still manages all of Queen’s finances (I’m guessing royalty distribution and all that), but that’s the only reason they talk anymore. Kinda sad but it’s nice they’re still in contact I guess :)
Apparently they only talk about finances, which makes me sad but I'm sure he has his reasons. Anyway, Deaky is a cupcake and that's the tea

In full flight! :)
Deacy, I may only be a thirteen year old girl but from the moment I saw you I’m like “damn this guy is amazing!!!!” You are so talented and I love how you are the band pet. You’re nickname is SO CUTE!!! Who came up w that? They’re genius. Anyway I hope wherever you are you are happy and still in touch with Brian and Roger. @Ryan Ross's Cheez Whiz Sorry I thought you were watching memes too.
I loveeee john so much never wrote a bad song I just love him wish he could stay with the band but spread you're wings and fly away john we love you
His riff in "Under Pressure" is simply great. :-)
it's honestly so sad he doesn't talk to the other boys besides business issues, I wish he would still be close to them, but many times tragedies tear people apart
John hope you are well and happy, still miss your beautiful smile.
And you stood body guard ( Freddie)-- Here's to you John Deacon..We love you !
You are still Queen fans' "best friend" We love you Deaky. Looking forward to seeing you again some day.
🥰👑
Mr. John Deacon.. I lift my glass to you, sir. A competent musician.
That's a sucky thing to say jerk...
I love all Queen members...your music makes me happy !!!! I wish I could turn back time….I never got to see a concert....thank God for youtube.
I will always regret I didn't get to his Omaha concert in 1980.
I loved the pic where John's holding a baby. Love that smile !
I think that was his child
And the one at the party, possibly at the table with his kids, playing and going under the table! So glad you included that one!
I really hope that John sees these from time to time to know just how much he is loved.
Absolutely fantastic. I hope somewhere that Deaky can see these tributes to him and know how many people loved and still love him 💯❤❤xx
Thank you!
I really and truly hope that he knows how much we love and admire him .He was crucial to Queen.💜💙❤xx
I love and miss him so much he is a great bass player good character very modest shy cute and he did not let the game get to his head beautiful person only wished he would come out of hiding and unite with the rest of the guys once in awhile you are extremely missed
I love “you are my best friend”
John Deacon, we love you!! No one else can play the bass and do the Deacy spin on one leg wearing shorts during a live performance!!😂❤️❤️❤️❤️
(Smile!_)Good point, there!
I love the Tribute video for John Deacon......Deaky.......He was such a great bassist and band member......I miss John and Freddie!!!!!😪 Queen Rocks......❤❤❤❤
love john.when ever queen was on stage i watched freddie & john. john would bop all over the place. keep time with the music & turn circles on one leg. how did he do that? read some place that early on freddie told john you can write music & i will help you & so john did write some real hits. while brian & roger stepped out on their wifes john married & the pic with his two children speaks volumes about who john was. also have seen a pic of john & one of his children & he is showing the child around the empty stage. john is the lucky one as he is still married to his first wife &has 6 children. do not think john is a basket case as he rolled down his window & singed autographs & if he was so bad off he could have drove off. good luck john & you will always be a member of queen to me.
I agree.. Of the four of them, I think John is the most fun to watch in the videos, as he dances around the stage with his bass! So into the rhythm! He danced like he thought no one was watching... But we are all watching him now! Glad he is now enjoying his family. He made the right decision when he retired and put his family first!
I'm admired Freddie but fall in love with this quiet man!
Without Freddie and John.....It's not this Queen, we know and remember!!
love him! one of the best ever!! totally unrecognized for his ability!
this is the kinda content i come to RUclips for
Such a beautiful low profile genius, how not love him? 😍👏
John Deacon is very privated & quiet person. I really miss him. "Love his songs, Youre my best friend, friens will be friends, Another one bite the dust etc..
John? No one can replace.
The four of them are not just bandmates, they're brothers. But different personality with same chemistry.. Queen foreveeeeeeer!!! 💗💜🧡💛💚💗💜🧡💛
I miss you John 😔
All the best John! We miss you.
He was always the quiet one. Kind of like the quietest Beatle. George Harrison. Or the quietest one in Guns N Roses like Izzy stradlin. Or Mick Mars in Motley Crue. There's always going to be the quietest one that was more than what you thought they were.
Love all these guys ... Most definitely one of my top 5 bands of all time ... Love watching Deacon play bass ... Bass players have some of the coolest moves & facial expressions ... All four members are great and without each of them there is no Queen ... They all truly loved & and cared about one another ... Such awesome relationships ... Regret never seeing them back in the day (70's) ... One of the few bands i actually regret not seeing
I'm with you there, never having seen them live is one of my life's greatest regrets. But I'm a WAY bigger fan of them now than I was back then. It's a rare day that I don't hear them in some fashion, even if it's just in the background because my fave classic rock station plays a lot of their hits, several times a day
Grande artista, grande uomo, grande amico... 💞
John Deacon, I knew you missed Freddie, and your family, after Freddie tragically died from AIDS, on 24th November, 1991, aged just 45. You were his best friend. I just wished that, you could have come out of retirement, and play along side Brian, and Roger, and Adam. We, as fans, miss your bass riffs, John. You were as vital as Freddie, Brian, and Roger. I hope you are enjoying your retirement, "Quiet John". RIP Freddie, Mr and Mrs Bulsara, and Freddie's partner, Jim Hutton. 😥❤
@Angie MontoyaCuri, he died from cancer, in 2010. At least, Freddie will be looking after him, in the afterlife, again.
@Angie MontoyaCuri, I am not gay, or homophobic, as I write this comment, I am a lifelong fan of Queen, and Freddie Mercury. Freddie loved Jim like a husband, and Jim loved Freddie like 1, too.
@Angie MontoyaCuri, I know you didn't, sorry. If I said that, to other certain RUclipsrs, they would have said that.
the fact that he wrote ‘You’re my best friend’ to his wife makes the song more meaningful. I feel it, i just smile whenver i listen to that song and feel the lyrics of it, im imagining how Deacy really love his wife. And that’s how you write good songs rather than song that has a lyrics of “ *im in love with my car gotta feel for my automobile* “ . JOKE SKAKDBWB
I wish we knew more about this bassist, but he’s just reserved....😕😔
Why not? He did write Queen's greatest hit. Every one expected it to come from May or Mercury but John stole in and Roger may well be in the mix as Radio Ga Ga was also a big hit.
JOHN VUELVE POR FAVOR!!!! QUEEN TE NECESITA, LOS QUEENEROS Y QUEENERAS TE EXTRAÑAMOS!!!😢💙
Oh John.... you miss us very much... you have written lot of beautiful and fantastic songs!!! We love you!!!! 🌷🦋😘
