Wow, love your story and belated congrats! No, no need to fear looking across the ocean for that someone special. I used to think my soulmate would be Pinay, I lived in metro Manila for the two best years of my childhood and it didn't take me long to realize Filipinas are very special, but I learned later that Brasileiras are special also and that my future was with one of them. We nearly took our Christmas vacation in Costa Rica, it was one of a very few places open to us but we wound up in Aruba. Anyway, it was great seeing your first face to face, if only someone could have done the video of your first hug it would have been great to see. May God bless you both with many years of love and happiness!

hi Sam and Mary...Im your new follower and started to watch your vlogs. Ive been in a LDR too but im here working in Cyprus and bf live in the US . We haven't meet personally tho weve consistently talked day and night for 6months now. My bf has a fear of flying but bcoz he is eager to meet me but not by chance taking a long hrs flight to Cyprus. He choose Costa Rica coz it will only take him 5 hrs to get there. Thank you to you both bciz of one of your video REQTS going to Costa Rica helps a lot to prepare docs. I really appreciate you both. Nice vlog! What did you tell immigration to avoid getting offloaded? And what documents did you show? I want to know what you really did, because so many advice videos are saying " you should do this" and not "i did this".
I told them I have work and they considered it a strong ties. And lots of paperwork. Must have proof of relationship like picture together and such..

As of 30-05-2022 covid restrictions are lifted to enter the Philippines but adults MUST have a valid up to date vaccination card.

Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of working remotely. I do however, am able to come visit her each six weeks for 11 days at a time. We choose CR because it makes it possible for me to see her often while fulfilling my job duties. A southeast asain country would have made this task almost impossible during the time we made the decision. It was a bit of a learning curve when we first started but now it is pretty awesome. Don't worry, she is not alone down there in CR. There is an entire community of other fil/American couples doing the same thing as us!
