They definitely are "minimal" compared to the iPhone smart phones. You neglected to mention that you can dictate messages using the cat. Also emails and holding a button down to access Google Assistant by voice. This is a big factor for me when using the phone outdoors especially.

Youngster desperate for detox here. I’m more curious about the comparison between the Dura XV Extreme + and the Sonim XP3+. Which do you recommend of the two? What are the drawbacks and benefits of either choice, because on paper they both look very nice.
If you just want a simple experience, Sonim. If you need any kind of app, Kyocera. They are both great and very similar, the differentiator is whether you need any app outside of what they bring or not,
The Sonim XP3plus is a great phone, but I had to return it because it wouldn't run Whatsapp. I need that to keep in touch with some friends in the UK, so it was a deal breaker unfortunately. It was a shame because it was an awesome digital detox phone, and came with an 8MP camera. I went with the CAT S22 and a low data (1gb) plan to limit my time spent online.
I would prefer the Kyocera XV+ Extreme but I cannot find them brand new, unlocked for a good price. I jumped on CAT S22 Flip when it selling < USD$70 at its lowest.
For the Kyocera, can you pair an android smartwatch with the WearOS app with this phone and receive and reply to text messages with it? Also is it possible to use apps like uber and lyft? Or is there any way I can find a list of apps that are/aren’t possible to download on it?

If is too much trouble, no problem at all, in return I appreciate you for reading my comment. Thank you Jose! Have an awesome day!
You may have answered this before, but in your opinion, is it worth getting the Cat S22 if I have Verizon as a provider? I’ve tried to research the compatibility, but I keep getting conflicting info.
It's hit or miss. Verizon sometimes allows it in the network and sometimes it doesn't. Due to that, I'd recommend buying it from a place where you can return, trying it for 3 weeks and seeing if they block it or not. If they do, return and buy something else. Otherwise, it's a good option.
In terms of inputting information on people, clients etc, how much space is available? I generally find that there's only room for name, address and email on flip phones.
Have you considered doing a sound volume test with Sound Meter app? you could lie the phone 1m or 2m off the phone measuring the sound and play the same video/song/ringtone on phones at full volume for a decibel measure of volume. I think Sound Meter app uses the mic and the accuracy is good enough for having an idea. Cheers!

I need the ability to be added to group texts from the start, and they always come in as separate messages. I really like the CAT phone, but it’s a bit too big and a bit too smart for me. If it was smaller and had no touch screen, I’d probably buy it because I just wouldn’t use its smart functionality (but knowing it has the ability is nice). I was just wondering if u would be interested in maybe giving away the Kyocera phone it’s a phone i always wanted to have but it’s a bit expensive for me (i know that sounds a bit wired) but for me it’s expensive. So if u would do something like that I would truly and greatly appreciate it. Thanks again for putting in all the time and effort. Best wishes ❤
I do giveaways every few months. I'll be doing one probably by the end of the month or middle of March. Stay tuned and enter the giveaway for a chance to win the phones that I don't use often :)
@@JoseBriones thank you so much!! What do I have to do to enter the giveaway?
Why did kyocera ditch indonesia as their market tadget 😢😢😢😢
Cat s22 có hoạt động ở việt nam được không
Mua Unlocked thì được.
CAT S22 for the (semi) dumbphone win!
My kyocera doesn't have antennae pod or f-droid. Why is this? I'm in USA.
You have to install it yourself. You have to learn how to install APKs to do so
Can i share hot spot using CAT S22?
Yes
@@JoseBriones I can access the internet via the hotspot on all of my devices except for an iPad which also connects, but has no internet access and I'm not sure why, and can't figure it out. I contacted Apple with no success and was wondering if you would know who I could contact for help with the Cat S22 flip phone settings.
Have you tried using it for QR Code scanner?
Both work.
how do you Video Call on CAT?
You download an app and use it like on a smartphone
@@JoseBriones What app do you use tho? Thanks
is it dual sim?
No. It is not.
thanks mate!
love your videos
merci a toi pour la video elle est tres ben faite
Is either phone rootable?
CAT S22 can be rooted
Does it work on Verizon?
Kyocera does
@@JoseBriones k. Thanks.
Bluetooth Headset compatible?
Yes to both
i wish the cat s22 is sold unlocked and is available to other countries...
I bought 3 diferents cat s22 and they tell me are unlocked but is not true work is only T-MOBILE...I returned them back...but look great phone...
Well they are available now unlocked also and probably we could unlock the already locked ones through settings through
Why do you get all the cool rugged flip phones in the US .. and we get nothing of that sort in germany 😢 back in the day i so badly wanted gibbs flip phone from ncis .. turned out it didnt worked here xD and the dura i cbt even get here .. the cat i could get but at a redicolous high import price 😢🙈
Does it have android auto
No. Neither do.
If someone makes port less(water resistant), ink screen, button phone I'll buy it today
Unfortunately, CAT flip phones are no longer being made, including updates...😢 Even with a very large fan base, the company went down early 2024. So sad.
That cat phone is so bad ass looking I might grab me one
Kyocera is better while CAT is more convenient. But its still forces you to use touchscreen which is annoying.
I test drove an S22..it looked like exactly what I wanted...but it came with a problem I could never get over...this phone is VERY uncomfortable to carry in pants pocket...VERY...it's big with hard corners....I thought I would get used to it because it was perfect in any other way...but I never could get used to it...sold it on ebay...switched to the Sunbeam Orchid which I find gets as close as I could to the S22 but is comfortable to carry
Does the Sunbeam have the hotspot feature and touch screen?
No and yes
@Chrisrouser8452 I recommend Carpenter pants
Cat s22 how to buy ?
Amazon
I appreciate your videos...but you should be clear about compatibility with the carrier network.
I bought cat s22 is impossible use it in Atat, cricket, Verizon...is only T-MOBILE and that it..
The same xp3900 is just T- MOBILE.
in my opinion that you must said it clear or make a video of devises compatibility....I repeat your videos are the best in my opinion thanks
The issue is that these devices once unlocked can work on different areas. Here is an user on Reddit that is using his CAT S22 via AT&T prepaid: www.reddit.com/r/dumbphones/comments/10y4d3k/att_prepaid_to_cat_s22_flip_works_fine_for_me/?
The reality is that it really depends and your mileage may vary. But I’ll try to be more clear about the reality of the market and that it may not work everywhere. Thanks for the feedback!
Been using my cat s22 instead of my iphone and s23 ultra lmaoooo its a solid phone
Still using it? Good fit for someone trying to break smart phone addiction?
Qin f22 vs CAT s22
.please cover battery life on reviews. most dumb or half dumb phones have poor battery life on bluetooth. i use a motorola smart phone for work and nokia dumb phone for personal use with a bluetooth headset. maybe 5 hours at best talk time. i might have to bring back my samsung smart phone for personal use and dumb it down. been using the nokia for about a year.
Cat is now $70 on amazon Nov 2024
CAT is not a phone company.
Check www.cat.com/en_US.html and select products>other products and you'll see phones in there.
well.. u need more wide research my friend
CAT S22 Flip vs Kyocera Dura XV+, And the Winner is........??????
Got mine for $96 ;-)
Kyocera for me, durable and basic. No more $1,000+ phones for this guy!
I get the cat s22
💪🏽🇺🇸
