Me too. I think honestly these themes were just too large for kits. Stuff packs would have been much better, and I could definitely see a Royalty expansion (or honestly even a game pack!)
I gotta admit as a Goth person myself the kit feels a bit underwhelming I would've loved more options of clothes and different types of gothic fashion like from normal goth, punk, Victorian goth (ik we got Vampires but its nice to have more of it), Pastel Goth, etc. I also find it a bit upsetting of the makeup and jewelry, like there's more gothic makeup than that (I think the streak under eyes is a stereotype with goths) and it would've been perfect to add in more piercings for nose, eyebrows, ears and maybe some bellybutton piercings (I highly doubt anyone would make tongue piercing in the sims) since we only got so little of them from Discover University (the pack and base game update that introduced it) and Werewolves, but I would've loved new tattoos and hair too Summed up, its nice a bit but I feel like they could've done better
I definitely agree with you, and I enjoy hearing your opinion as someone who is Goth! It would have been really cool to see more of a range of options - I personally would have loved to see more traditional / romantic / and Victorian Goth. I don't think the pastels they used here fully delivered on the pastel goth aesthetic either. I LOVE piercings and tattoos so I also would have loved to see way more of them! My sim actually has a cc tongue ring haha- it would be so cool if we could actually get that in game but you're right, they'd probably never give that to us 😭😭😭

I agree with wanting the addition of lace! I feel like it would've added so much to this kit, but I am happy that the pieces look better in game than they did in the preview. All of your comments were basically my take too lol texture is such a big thing for me so I was disappointed with the missed opportunity for it :( The piercings and the chunky tall boots were my fav from the kit.
Yess I'm so glad you are on the same page as me with texture!! Like there are some items that could be such winners and then the texture is just a fail and it makes me so sad haha! And yeah I definitely feel like the boots were a stand out piece in this kit!

I'm happy to have more of this style in the game, though, and I voted for it because I felt that we didn't have enough of this style in the game. Same with the castle build kit, I felt we did not have enough of that style in the build/buy section. I would have been happy either way the poll went, but my choices were made based on what we had in the game already vs what we needed more of.
Same! That's why I couldn't really rave about it, but I also don't think it's terrible. I just ultimately think this theme would have worked better tied into a stuff pack perhaps. There are some pieces that I like and that I will use, but other than the boots, nothing was really a must-have for me. I am happy to have some more pieces like this to use in my vanilla gameplay though!
I'm glad I stumbled across this because I was debating whether the kit would be worth it and I pretty much agree with everything you said. It'd be nice if they'd included more stuff like tights,stockings and chunky heels. I'd have loved to see more jewellery as well. I agree on the lace, looking at it the purple pattern feels very romantic/victorian goth and that tends to have a lot of lace and frills so those swatches feel like they're missing something by not having that

While I agree that it wasn't great, I wouldn't say it's bad. I'd buy this kit over the modern menswear kit any day. There's at least assets in this kit that feel usable. As someone who plays on console and can't use cc, I'm disappointed that this is all we get for goth sims but I think some of the swatches and assets are good and the makeup feels better than it has been in other packs and kits
