- The end of episode 4x09 "Something's Coming" which is the most expensive episode produced in the show's history. Lynette's husband and children, as well as Ida Greenberg, are underneath the rubble of Karen McCluskey's house.
Felicity Huffman did an amazing job. She sold it to the audience in that last part because that's how a person would react in a real situation.

How can anyone say it's too dramatic? If your house had collapsed and been torn apart with you knowing your husband and children, your whole family were underneath, presumably no sign of them, you would be screaming!
Wonder what lynette would do if her entire family was killed. Like absolutely no one survived the tornado.

Most intense cliffhanger ever! When Mary Alice said she life is most often unfair and then I heard that scream i really believed either Tom or Some of the kids were dead.
It was "The scream heard around the world", Desperate Housewives will never stop being iconic and way ahead of its time, one of the best shows ever created, I miss that street so damn much!
Acting of felicity always gives me goosebumps, lynette is such a strong character played by an amazing actress. No words...

I watched this show while I was in girls boarding school, and Lynette’s scream shocked the entire room into horrified silence. That never happened in a house full of tween/teen girls.
One girl uttered a soft “holy shit” under her breath and didn’t even get in trouble because our boarding mistress was also gaping in silent horror.

This show would be so much worse if they didn't have the creepy narrations.
So unrealistic as a tornado
The only thing that doesn't make sense is how the tornado somehow took 1 square piece out of the roof.
I think something might have been shorn off by the wind? I think the point of that scene was more about the imagery of "seeing the light" than it was relating to an actual item of any value. To wit, scenes of natural disasters are often used to downplay the importance of "stuff" vs the true value of lives.

im sorry but i cant take this serious that was some budget fx when the cgi lady flew away and lynettes scream is just a little bit over the top. ok a lot over the top. and that is such a badly done fake set. and no tornado takes out a perfect square of a roof.
