You will see a lot of black and white film photography shot with my Rolleiflex 2.8F going forward. I just bought 150 rolls of Kodak Tri-X, so prepare yourself for a lot of analog photography.

The Rolleiflex camera is a classic medium format camera that was popular during the mid-20th century. It features a twin-lens reflex design, which means that there are two lenses mounted on the camera, one for taking the picture and the other for viewing the scene. This design allows for precise framing and composition, making it a favorite among professional film photographers.
I’ve wanted this camera since I began doing street photography. I'm SO excited about this! I bought my Rolleiflex 2.8F here: shrsl.com/3yebs.
Sou do Brasil e gostaria de ter uma máquina dessa...
When I was young (many years ago) this camera was the Rolls Royce of cameras. The resolution was incredible. Very easy to use. If you get a chance the Nikonos underwater camera is also worth a look. Tough but very clear photography. My dad dropped it from a helicopter in Viet Nam from 500 m . He found it and kept shooting.
You are literally the most underrated street photog on youtube! I love your approach to street photography and how you interact with your subjects. Your videos are great, Frederik keep killin it
Thank you so much mate! Really appreciate it! And I have big videos coming soon :)!
Agreed
Como faço para adquirir uma máquina igual a essa que você está usando?
There's a kindness to your work that many street photographers lack. Excellent work, sir!
That’s such a nice compliment. Really. Thank you!
Heeeyyyy! I don’t lack that!!
It’s so good to see a channel where the photos you take are actually awesome. There a few channels out there showing off old cameras where the photos they compose are average. Great work and great attitude towards photography and people.
That camera is a joy! When you consider how old the technology is in it, the quality of the images blows your mind! I’m really looking forward to future videos with this incredible and beautiful work of art from Rolleiflex. Thank you
I completely agree! It’s mind bugling! I can’t wait to shoot more with this!
Dude, I do not really know how to say it, but I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!! I mean, you share your work with us and you always motivate to take pictures! Awesome work
Thanks a lot my man!
I absolutely enjoyed this video. Your content is so authentic! The results are stunning, these cameras were built so well, it's almost unbelievable to see such crisp and sharp results from a 50-years old camera.
Great video. I really liked the authentic emotion upon receiving the camera, and also your approach to the people you photograph. Obviously you're a good guy!
They turned out so well!! Loving the grain and contrast, excited to see more!!
It's so much fun to watch you take photos, the excitement and the talent is just incredible
Thanks a lot Hunter! 👊🏼
That was fun to watch. Love the pure joy seen while shooting the new camera.
Bought my 2.8f about 2 months ago. I pick it up almost every day and and am always amazed at the quality it exudes. Halfway through my second roll. The camera demands attention, and people LOVE asking about it! If you want to meet people, this is the camera to carry! Good luck, your pics are great!
I love how happy this has made you. Keep on keeping on sir!
That's just incredible man you talk well to people and they seem to be very nice! Keep it up!
My father was a Photographer, when I was a child he showed me how to use -this was the specific camera. It is extremely easy to use. Congrats 🤔
Loved this video man. Your enthusiasm makes it. Like a kid in a sweet shop. It's nice to get your dream camera. You only live once. Enjoy. New subscriber!
Wow, what beautiful shots, Frederik. Well done! I know it's a big relief when you spend a lot on a vintage camera and come to find that it works well! I love the format of the videos where you react to them for the first time in the second half. That's such a good approach. I was super excited for you to find out they were so good! Keep on keeping on, man. Love your channel.
Frederik, congrats!! I have the 3.5f & 2.8f...they are my favorite cameras by far. The square 120 format is a really fun shape to compose within, and the FEEL of the camera, from how it sits in your hands to the *click* of the shutter is just so satisfying, isn’t it?? I really liked the man on the bench, and the woman by the old door. These cameras are absolute treasures, and to me, I’m inspired every time I pick them up, as it’s obvious you are. Looking forward to more! 🙌🏼
It’s nice to have a camera that motivate you to go out and take some pictures, good job Federico
Yess! Exactly! Thanks!
oh man sometimes a video comes along that inspires you, this is one of them, thanks for that, keep posting and inspiring
Love to hear it!
Love the photos, especially the ones where you catch ppl in their thoughts
Your energy and passion is unmatched and so contagious! Thanks for the vid man
Love your videos. And I love that you are a student of photography. It's not just about reviews, gear, etc.. And your images are wonderful.
The photo of the girl doing her eye makeup is insanely good. Great video as always.
Thanks a lot Lee!
That's my dream camera as well, congrats for your new baby... All the best from this corner buddy!
Loved the video Frederik! The shots come out great. Looking forward to seeing a few more walks with the Rolleiflex
I very much enjoyed this video. I’m having my 2.8F cleaned and adjusted and can’t wait to get it back.
Amazing camera purchase Frederik! and even more amazing images! I picked up a Yashica Mat 124 recently and finally put my first roll through it, it was so much fun!
I'm inspired by your approach to the people you photograph. Even if you don't need the practice, that line is perfect for dis arming your subject. And for me... I do need to practice both my photo skills and my Spanish. So glad I found your channel.
I just bought one recently and saw your channel on the recommendations. Just had to watch and it I got inspired! Thanks so much!
I love the Rolleiflex. It is so light and compact that it is a joy to walk around with. I use a hood on mine to reduce flare in backlit situations.
I had a camera just like this one !!Clear photos outstanding ! I still have my wet dark room , haven't used it in years !!
Beautiful camera and photos, definitely looking forward to more videos with it!
You've don it again! Beautiful camera, awesome first rolls, I'm impressed!
Man, i really enjoy watching all of your videos. I love your street photography!
God, these photos are so stunning, the portraits especially
Crazy how film cameras instantly transport you back in time
Congrats on getting your dream camera. I just got mine a few weeks ago. A Nikon f3. I've wanted one ever since I was in high school in the late 1980's and met a genuine photojournalist who was shooting a local event with one. It was my opinion then and today that it's one of the most beautiful cameras ever made. There was no way I could afford it back then, but recently I found one at a bargain price and made that dream come true.
If you like Nikons and the F line, try the F4 or F5. They are still reasonably priced. The F4 is forward and backward lens compatible and the F5 is as modern as any pro DSLR.
That was an excellent first portrait & I liked that 2nd shot of the guy up in the apartment better too. Great job.
I'm a huge fan of this cinematic photo at 13;14
Cheers frederik, your channel is incredible, especially your serie "How to"
Thank you so much !
So great on so many levels. Usually expectation exceeds reality. Nice to see that's not always the case.
The tonality that comes out of this camera - especially in connection with TriX 400 - is mind-blowing! Great stuff; looking forward to more videos with this one :)
I hope that one day i can find you in the center of the city, i'm delighted with your photographs and the good vibes you have, congrats!
You got some really nice photos from this camera, Frederick. It was also nice to watch you critique your photos. Definitely do more Street walks with this camera.
I remember those cameras and the excellent results they created. I was taking photography in highschool and was able to
Afford the Yaschica 124 and it did a great job for me. Now for street a low profile Pen F with the Olympus 17mm f1.8 is
My new favorite.
I have a 2.8GX and an old T, love them so much. They are even more stealthy for street photography than Leica M because you're not looking at people and most people don't even realise that you have a camera and behave naturally. And they are silent. Your pictures look great, makes me want to go outside and shoot more.
Your enthusiasm is infectious. Best day of any photographers life is getting their favourite camera in the post. Congrats mate.
Thank you for taking the time to write these words :)!
Well said!
Yeeeees more analogue, he’s becoming one of us. Don’t worry too much about exposure, as long as you’re giving it more light not less negative film is very forgiving to exposures being wrong.
Also dang a 2.8f that can’t have been cheap. Haha $3k you even said.
Congratulations on your new tool! I have a Rolleiflex New Standard from March, 1939 according to the serial number. What this camera and its uncoated lens does with shadows is amazing. I hope you have as much fun with yours as I do with mine!
Just discovered your channel and watched so many videos today. Thank you for a very interesting approach and presentation.
My uncle had a Rolleiflex and looking down that view finder is just something else. Magical is the only word I could use to describe it. And at that time I wasn't even into photography yet.
The two guys starting to talk about the rolleiflex was awesome
So many great shots! Such a great camera...happy for you. Best shot @8.06
oh man! What an experience must have been! I need to try shooting streets with one of these!
These photos were so incredible.
2.8F with the Planar is an amazing camera. The Xenotar model is a bit more rare and performs very well too. I rebuild these along with Hasselblad V series cameras as my primary business. Once you start the addiction of medium format, it is hard too quit. Thanks for the video.
Great photos as always! That Rolleiflex shoots like a dream! Seeing this makes me want to go out and buy a TLR medium format camera (one that is more in my price range) but I keep having to remind myself that I already have 6 cameras and I don't have enough space for another one lol
Always a pleasure watching your videos
Frederick I love your videos so much, thanks for inspiring me
nice, don't dismiss 10:50 - there is something about this one!
Have fun with the Rolleiflex!
best
Tom
With the butterfly scene I scream to tv... Nail it! Nail it! And then you nail it! - love to have that conection. Saludos desde Chile
just found your channel. amazing work. very inspiring. still watching the rest of the videos
Glad to hear!
I shot for years with a Hasselblad 503CX and a Yashicamat. I loved using film.
When I was a kid in the mid 1950s I helped my father develop his black and white Rolleiflex negatives in his darkroom in our house in the San Francisco area. He died in 2003 but I possess all of the negatives today and what a blast it is to make prints from them via my computer and Photoshop Elements!
I LOVE these photos! Just enough of the contrast and, honestly, being a bit closer will bring more emotion.. for me, that’s my opinion. I was emotionally invested the photo of the girl putting the makeup on. I think too, that since your looking down, like you said, you’ll be able to get closer and that will make you enjoy your work even more
Thanks mate! It’s a lot of fun trying this camera! And more film coming as you know hah
IMO the one and only real medium format photography because of the square image results, this and all its special photogaphic challanges are the essence of this format and what makes it so special and unique, digital or analog is irrelevant, well done 👍😊
The camera was probably really stealthy back in the day but now its so iconic that it attracts immediate attention. That is actually one of the reasons why I would like to get one: people seem sort of eager to be photographed with it :)
Love the video, and love your playfulness and and self-criticism!
This is awesome !! Keep rockin and do some more vids with this cam. Love your work !!
These photos are amazing!
amazing photos once again!!! I aspire to become a photographer like you one day.
These photos are brilliant
Love your work and attitude!

Thanks! Much more coming :)
Love the camera - can't wait to see more vids with it, thanks!
A cool video, with great streets and very nice people. Thanks.
Nice expérience, muchas gracias !
simply love KEH!
Great review of the camera, really enjoyed your insights and thoughts on the exposure and how the camera can be used for street photography. Great stuff
Awesome video. Its always fun shooting with a new film camera. A square medium format camera is definitely on my list of cameras I want.
I did want to add that viewing your photos with the white background was a strain on the eyes. Its much more enjoyable to view your photos on the black background.
Great video.
Only the second vlog of yours that I have watched, your style is so relaxed and I like how we see your first impressions of your own photos...ones you say ‘nah’ to I am thinking cool and wow 😂 superb camera
Some great photos and the Rolleiflex is a fantastic camera. I got my Rolleiflex Automat recently with a bunch of accessories for a great price in beautiful condition from a local shop. I have been really enjoying shooting with it and I love TLRs.
i love how you doing interaction with the surrounding people
and your street photos are magnificent as always
07:44 is my favorite in this episode
Wonderful. I am ready. Love those cameras. Love your style of video and then the black and white photograph. Along with your vlogging and explaining.

You look so cool to walk around clicking and not annoying the subjects...great shots
