The Double is terrific! It’s a sleeper hit in Chinese drama land as many of the fans were focused on larger budget dramas instead of this gold nugget. Congratulations to cast and crew who did a fantastic job of keeping the audiences guessing as to what will happen next. I have to mention the FLs portrayal of hate toward her ex- husband as she literally shook when dealing with him face to face. She’s good anyway but in this drama is excellent! 🌸💃🏽
Shen YuRong is honestly one of my favorite characters in this drama. I absolutely detest and hate him, but that’s a good thing because it’s a testament to the writers and the actor that he makes me feel this way which causes excitement in watching and waiting for him to get his punishment. I love how, at first, I thought he was just too cowardly or that his greedy family had pushed him into killing his wife, but then as it progresses, the relationship with the princess is shown more. Stockholm syndrome? A man secretly loving to be abused? Actual love for the evil witch? So complicated and so entertaining!
I’m sure Shen YuRong had a relationship with the Princes long before she was “killed” as his resolution to progress in power and making his family superior to others…. I dislike him from the very first time I saw him…..
But, still I don’t understand the stepmother hate for the young girl, she was only 8, and she loved and trust her “mom”, this little girl was attached to her,,, so,,, why actually decided to kill her unborn baby only to sent the girl to the boarding home far, far away,,, and never let the father or family to request visits or anything about the young girl… I know now, she was a concubine of the Master,,, and her own daughter was about same age, why this young daughter is treated as the “legitime daughter” of the Ling?? Family? Is the elder first daughter returns,,,, she still considered as an outsider? The role of the stepmother is the one that cause me more understandings and curiosity…. As well…. Do you think, her daughter is not real daughter of the Master,,, but is daughter of the painter???
i really hoped that the ex husband FL is the one who let her live or took her out of the grave somehow..because its not shown how she is rescued. i thought even if a lil bit of humanity is still alive in him.. but i guess the story will not ens up like that..
No, he totally tried to kill her, hit her with a shovel and bury her alive. But this is a drama, and it rained and we can guess he covered her in a hurry, so the soil was lose. She came out on her own.
So at the end the two assistants of xiao heng were killed in battle 😢 and then xiao heng said he would meet her at the tree were they planted the flower and they did. Hope this helps
It’s only good relative to other stuff released this year that is much worse. The script is lacking any logic even for a fictional drama. Oh it’s you again……..your character name pronouciation still hasn’t gotten any better.
