    Did you do a custom tune on this shock for this frame? I'm looking at a TEMPO and I'm scheming on options for a frame-up build with most of my existing parts vs. getting a complete bike with everything as-intended from the factory.
    I'm looking forward to your opinion/review on it!

    • @PeterJamison
      @PeterJamison  6 месяцев назад +1

      No custom tune as of now! The Bomber Inline that was installed in this video just came out and was sent out last minute for this build, so custom tune wasn't an option but that may be something I do in the future 🤙🏼 Frame up builds are always fun, but some of the build kits offered by Commencal look really nice, tough choice! Thanks for watching!

    Wow was not expecting you to ride a 140mm. What is the max. travel on this Commencal TEMPO? Could you change the suspension for much higher? I was considering Commencal but for DH. I am looking for a larger travel enduro bike. Either YT or Propain. I have a Giant X Trance 2 / 2021 with RS Pike Select 150mm and bought an debonair upgrade kit of 160mm...Where I live in Mexico its mostly rocky and steep terrain. DH would be great but pointless since there is a lot of climbing involved. The TEMPO I would love but with more travel. Seems like a fun freeride bike that can climb and rip. Well done. I am always impressed how you explain things and your knowledge of MTB. I am a rookie when it comes to working on my bike.

    • @PeterJamison
      @PeterJamison  6 месяцев назад +2

      The max fork tavel is 150mm from my understanding! I am considering trying that in the future, but for now I am running the bike at 140mm with a 34mm fork.
      Glad you are enjoying the content, I hope it is able to help you out! Thanks for watching!

    How does the masking tape work does it go under the pad?

    • @PeterJamison
      @PeterJamison  6 месяцев назад +3

      It is a product called ‘mastic tape’ by 3m, it is a thin rubber tape that dampens the noise created by the fins hitting the caliper down the trail 👊🏼 As in the video, I place thin strips on the caliper right where where the fins come in contact with the caliper. Hope this helps!

    Commencal Tempo vs Canyon Spectral 125 vs Transition smuggler. What are your thoughts? Spectral seems by far the most bang for your buck, but maybe these other two brands have something that Canyon doesn’t

    • @PeterJamison
      @PeterJamison  5 месяцев назад

      All of those bikes seem awesome, and I would personally be stoked on any of them. To be honest, I actually looked into building each one and the difference for me was the frame only option with Commencal being the fastest and cheapest for me to get. Hope this helps!

  • @GustavoChagas70
    @GustavoChagas70 6 месяцев назад +1

    One question, in the large size it has 470 reach, it would be "out" of your "ideal" measurement, can you explain why you choose L, just curious, thank you!

    • @PeterJamison
      @PeterJamison  6 месяцев назад +2

      Nice attention to detail! The options were: medium at 450mm or large at 470mm. Given that it is a short travel bike, I wanted to get the wheelbase on the longer side to increase the stability and capability of the bike. In attention to the 470mm reach making the wheelbase longer than the size medium, the size large also got a longer chainstay which was very interesting to me. So overall, getting comfortable on the longer reach bike seemed worth it for me, for the performance enhancements that the wheelbase would bring me. After two days on the Tempo, with a 40mm stem, 40mm rise bar, and a fair bit of stack height it is feeling very comfortable and I am happy with my choice 🤘I will discuss this in further detail in my Tempo bike check in a few weeks time also ✌
