Phil told me to go pick up the Stanley Cup from Pearson when I worked at the Hall of Fame. It was in October of 1993 and it was coming back to Toronto from Montreal after they beat Gretzky and the Kings. I was 23 at the time!!! and he trusted me with that task.. I can't believe it's been close to 30 years since then. Chris Simpson was the Marketing Manager at the Hall back then and Phil was just becoming the "Keeper"
Mr Pritchard is almost as recognizable as the cup itself. He always seems to have a smile on his face and you can tell he gets great joy sharing this remarkable trophy with the public.
What a great guy. I seem to remember him and his golden flowing locks for a lot longer than the late 80's but who would know better than him? He's an epic part of the Stanley Cup story and I love that.
What an honorable, but stressful job! So much traveling, worrying about the location & condition of the Cup. Having to monitor it & everyone around it! Hats off, Mr. Pritchard! 👍🎩
Do you gently spoon with it at night, Phil? Whispering sweet nothings in it, like " _Yeah, you want big daddy to win you with a game seven OT winner? Uhhh.. watch this_ "
If only i could have his job for a year! Hell, a month! I wouldnt care about money, women, kids, food, or anything that society values. Just to experiance what he's had for 33 years. Phil, you are blessed.
Phil has arguably the greatest job ever! But dude, get a hair cut man! Looking like the dude I used to score weed from in high school...in the 80s man! The early 80s! Go Flyers!
This man has taken care of Lord Stanley for literally my entire life. Unsung hero in the NHL
Forget how cool his job is.. to consistently do that nice gesture for his gf/wife all this time is one of the best love stories you'll hear

Imagine getting on a flight and realizing a 124 year old trophy isn't on your flight
Older than titanic

This guy gets to hoist the cup at home when he wins his season mode on NHL 21
What a gig he’s got going for him
I wouldn't want it though. Imagine losing the cup on your watch, oh my god lol. That fear during your whole career as keeper lol
@@purplerabbit638 I’d have to literally handcuff it to me 😂
Right time right place doesn’t get any better than this
...and he never gave up on his grade 8 hair cut.
This man a legend just like the cup 😂
He spends more time with the Cup than he does with his wife.
If that mug could talk the stories it would tell would be amazing
