Not really. Only stitches that have combination knit and purl stitches, lay flat. Others need to be blocked unless you use 3 or 4 garter or seed stitches on the sides.
Lovely stitch! Very pretty yarn! Question: If it’s a multiple of 14 + 2, how come there are 10 stitches left over at the end of the row? Wouldn’t it be a multiple of 14 + 10? Even though I’m confused, it’s beautifully and thank you for sharing!🌸🌺
@@theastewart6721 cast on in multiples of 14 then add 2 to the end. I did 14x5 = 70 + 2 = total of 72 stitches. Don't use a stitch marker. The extra 2 are for the knit at the beginning and end. I am doing your zig zag garter stitch right now. How would i make one end strait across when beginning or binding off? I was curious if this video would show that as well?
It's so hard to find good knitting tutorials! Thank you! ❤️ 🙏
Fantastic...only tutorial that is clear& makes sense thankyou
Your knitted pieces always look so beautifully formed. Love thast wool too. Thanks again .

Thanks for the tutorial Joanne. Does this pattern lay flat?

It's about symmetry. You need to start and end NOT with the repetition.
Ok. So say if you wanted to do 3 repeats would you cast on 14 +2 3 times and then add an additional 10 stitches?

Thank you!@ Tu Lam🤗
You work 6 stitches before the repeat and 10 stitches at the end. This equals 16 - or 14 +2.
When you cast off using this pattern, does that cast off edge have the same chevron edge as in the first row?
Yes. You will have the ripple, in reverse.
How do you bind off in pattern if I want the shape of the zigzag? Do you have another tutorial that shows how to do this?
I'd say, just bind of on a purl row. Make a placemat sized swatch and see if that works for you.
Question? What stitch/pattern would you use with a thin, shimmery almost metallic yarn?
We have lots of lace stitches. With that pretty yarn you could make any of them. Like: ruclips.net/video/7SjsGiM9sCA/видео.html
How do you bind off so it is scalloped like the beginning?
It does it by itself. No need to do anything.
Heel mooi
Thanks

I was thinking that too, Lori. I need to ask my mom. But I imagine you start with a few rows of straight stitch first. Let me double-check.
I want to know too! Lovely stitch!
@@JoannesWeb thanks!!!!!
Please show how to start with those points..
Cast on your stitches and purl the first row. Then continue with row 1 of the instructions.
@@JoannesWeb thank you so much. I love to watch you knit and your voice is so pleasant.
How many stitches were cast on?
Any multiple of 14 Plus 2.
What size needle n yarn
This is a stitch pattern and you use the needles that the yarn calls for.
