True, but from a musical standpoint it's still too early for them to switch it up too much. This is what causes "sophomore slumps" for artists because they want to quickly change their image without solidifying themselves.

Well I guess we must agree to disagree. Technically BB has only had one world tour and majority of the countries were Asian countries. I'm not downplaying their success, but it's very different when you put them in front of their fans/kpop fans vs The general public/people who have no idea what kpop is. I don't feel like going deeper, but considering the reception SNSD had at the youtube awards and the fact that there still hasn't been any internationally successful Asians in music(I'm not talking about people like Psy, who is pretty much the 2012 version of kyu sakamoto)..I'm not very optimistic about any idol being taken seriously as of yet.

I was surprised to hear how much they didn't like such concepts bc they are so dedicated and full of energy in their performances. Biggest thing is letting go of their pride and ego to be able to perform things like this when it's not their first choice - not just anybody could do that. ie Soyul seems to have the most trouble w/ the concepts but she's the one with the biggest smile and gestures, Choa seems like a total princess offstage but she's the second up with the enthusiasm and expression.

I love Crayon Pop. But I think it's safe to say that without the middle age men fans they wouldn't even have a career. Some people think it's weird but I think it's a very unique and heart warming relationship between the two. 99% of these men are completely harmless and treat these girls like they are royalty. These men look to Crayon Pop to provide them with a well deserved break from their everyday monotonous lives. They may even be the best fans in all of kpop.
Crayon Pop works so hard and is so fantastic. I don't think songs like these showcase their talents that well ): I miss Dancing Queen and Bing Bing. TBH I kinda like their concept in this one, after getting all that sexy rush concept from past rookies groups and other older groups, something different and enjoyable is good. Unique style/song are very catchy and likeable then a one concept, like being all sexy or all cute, most non fan will bash on them saying they trying to be Sistar and Secret. Being different cause less bashing.
Well I mean listen to their name, crayon pop. It sounds like something more for kids really but, you do have a point. They weren't getting a lot of shows when promoting dancing queen I remember since of their concepts being off beat but, they were better able to connect with fans on a more personnel level because of that. Also they did do one song that resembled T-ara's song (I forgot which song of theirs) called Saturday Night.
The song itself by no mean is a joke song~ All of Crayon Pop song was deep meaning in them if you listen to it (if you are not korean) Then look for the english sub lyrics :). The fact that BBB got so popular beside the video was also the lyrics. All of their song are uplifting. :)
I'm not saying their songs don't have meaning and all but, I remember when they were promoting Bar Bar Bar, they said in an interview that when they would try to get onto music shows the managers would say things like "Oh them?". Thats when they were able to get more personal with their fans but, they aren't like other groups since of their concept.

In most of the Crayon Pop live performances on the shows, there is always a girl (or two) that screams louder than any normal person should, much like the flying dinosaur of old. Most fans refer to her as the pterodactyl girl (though it isn't a specific girl, just in general). You can hear the screams in other idol performances too.
I think Crayon Pop is perfect. I don't want them to be over sexualized. That's how most western music is and I don't care for them to be sexy. I like them the way they are.
At the beginning, because of coming from a very small company, they cannot even perform in tv. They promote in the street and done gurriella instead. It's required a lot of brave and determination :)

I know what you're saying but you can't straight up state that their songs don't showcase their talent! They don't have to sing a certain song for us to know they could sing! I agree their quirky concept overshadows their vocal skills or whatever but you can still see their potential! Plus how would you know they wouldn't be big if they chose the same sexy or cute concept as other girl groups?! Your comment somehow comes of as negative and it's kind of offensive!
+thaik56 ^ This. This is a super old comment but I just cannot agree more. I was surprised to hear how much they didn't like such concepts bc they are so dedicated and full of energy in their performances. Biggest thing is letting go of their pride and ego to be able to perform things like this when it's not their first choice - not just anybody could do that. ie Soyul seems to have the most trouble w/ the concepts but she's the one with the biggest smile and gestures, Choa seems like a total princess offstage but she's the second up with the enthusiasm and expression.
Have you seen the bing bing dance video? They're great dancers, you just dont like their concept, get over yourself

Agreed. Haters are trying too hard to hate on Crayon Pop. While in fact, they are no better (if not worse) than Crayon Pop. While Crayon Pop is working hard in such a competitive music industry like Kpop, haters have nothing better to do other than writing hateful and rude comments.

I'm just glad to have a group giving me a break from the endless too-much-exposure-sexy and acting cute concepts coming from the girl groups. Cp and 2ne1 are the only girl groups that I actually like, for both their songs and image. To all the haters out there, get a life. These girls are enjoying themselves on stage and their fans are happy to watch them dance and sing these lively/crazy songs that brings nothing but fun. If you seriously don't like this kind of genre, sure! But no point giving all these comments telling the whole world that you HATE the grp. Like come on! Like they did anything o screw up your life...-_-
They remind me of 2NE1 in a way. I mean both groups could pull off weird concepts really well. Lol.

I love Crayon Pop. But I think it's safe to say that without the middle age men fans they wouldn't even have a career. Some people think it's weird but I think it's a very unique and heart warming relationship between the two. 99% of these men are completely harmless and treat these girls like they are royalty. These men look to Crayon Pop to provide them with a well deserved break from their everyday monotonous lives. They may even be the best fans in all of kpop.

Crayon Pop works so hard and is so fantastic. I don't think songs like these showcase their talents that well ): I miss Dancing Queen and Bing Bing. It feels like Crayon Pop is only going to stay around by being a "joke group" that people don't take seriously because of their songs like this. People who are not CP fans will think the group is ridiculous and won't give them the time of day. I think their next comeback should be a more mature comeback, or something less silly so everyone can see that they're not just a joke; they're talented, too

TBH I kinda like their concept in this one, after getting all that sexy rush concept from past rookies groups and other older groups, something different and enjoyable is good. Unique style/song are very catchy and likeable then a one concept, like being all sexy or all cute, most non fan will bash on them saying they trying to be Sistar and Secret. Being different cause less bashing.
Well I mean listen to their name, crayon pop. It sounds like something more for kids really but, you do have a point. They weren't getting a lot of shows when promoting dancing queen I remember since of their concepts being off beat but, they were better able to connect with fans on a more personnel level because of that. Also they did do one song that resembled T-ara's song (I forgot which song of theirs) called Saturday Night.
The song itself by no mean is a joke song~ All of Crayon Pop song was deep meaning in them if you listen to it (if you are not korean) Then look for the english sub lyrics :). The fact that BBB got so popular beside the video was also the lyrics. All of their song are uplifting. :)
I'm not saying their songs don't have meaning and all but, I remember when they were promoting Bar Bar Bar, they said in an interview that when they would try to get onto music shows the managers would say things like "Oh them?". Thats when they were able to get more personal with their fans but, they aren't like other groups since of their concept.

My thing about haters is why spend time watching and disliking their stuff? i never dislike videos. If you don't like crayon pop just ignore them its not like they're seeking you out to be their fan and like them. They probably no more than anyone that they're concept is not many people's type.
So many hate comments... I admire your effort in bashing. Watching a video that isn't your style (have to borrow this, Kris, sorry) when you could be watching other videos that IS your style, as well as clicking the dislike button, must be INCREDIBLY TAXING for you. Therefore I advise that you stay away from Crayon Pop if you don't like them because these girls are singing FOR FUN and FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE THEM and certainly not for people like you who like to suck the fun out of everything. :3
Why is CP getting so much hate? It makes me sad because they're really hard working and insanely adorable. Their concepts and songs are really cool, isn't the goal of music to enjoy it? Okay, to those who are saying that they are crazy, you haven't probably listened to KPOP all your life. These kind of concepts (there were a lot back in the days :D) was the ORIGINAL KPOP, and the reason why i loved KPOP. But sad to say KPOP right now is so. uhmmm AMERICANIZED ?! And yeah thats the sad reality! SO yeah thats kinda it. They're not crazy :D

I honestly don't understand why ANYONE could hate CP. What have they ever done to you guys? Not a damn thing. The girls are really nice and I adore their bubbly personalities. I also like them because they are different. I for one was getting tired of the super aegyo/sexy/swag concepts that seem to be all the rage for the past few years. Although some of my favorite groups do the before mentioned concepts it just gets old.. And slightly annoying. CP is like a breath of fresh air with their fun concepts. They don't deserve all the hate they get.. It's like 80% of the KPop fandom is watching their every move and whenever the girls do something they try and spread nasty rumors and start scandals. In most of the Crayon Pop live performances on the shows, there is always a girl (or two) that screams louder than any normal person should, much like the flying dinosaur of old. Most fans refer to her as the pterodactyl girl (though it isn't a specific girl, just in general). You can hear the screams in other idol performances too.

WOW I thought people would be happy to have a kpop group that's different than all the other girl groups. But when I read the comments.... why're there so many complaints??? Aren't people always like, man, that group's concept is so boring and repetitive?? Doesn't the song style and costumes make it fun?? And as for the style becoming old, lets face it, kpop companies number one goal is to try and bring in audiences. They will think of new things. Do people seriously think they will stay this way their whole kpop career? Personally, Crayon Pop is the first girl group that actually caught my attention. I can't explain it but it has a definite different feel than other groups. Why would Lady Gaga choose them otherwise? It's always the unexplainable that become great sometimes lol
