This infomercial is genius. Play this on TV today and it will still sell, guaranteed. I remember this spot so well from my childhood. That's why I'm here right now.
For some reason my parents bought me this when I was around 7-8 years old because I loved animals. They didn't realize that after the first video, you're signed up because it was an early subscription service. Once they send the last VHS, the company then sent out a box that they can all be placed in. I still have all of them 30 years later.
Well, this is a heck of a thing to see after an episode of the three-part series about Sir Attenborough's life on "Nature". I imagine he'd need a strong drink and a good long stare at the wall after seeing this ad.
Hell, I remember TNT would air this very commercial constantly during "The Muppet Show", "Fraggle Rock", and marathons of classic cartoons! It was jarring, to say the least.

The 90s were awesome. Great infomercial that got you excited for this series

I have Trials Of Life: Hunting & Escaping on VHS
"The Transformers will return after these messages"
That's what immediately pops into my head when hearing the narrator's voice.
Victor Caroli!
@@dorpth Holy Mackerel!
This commercial legit made me buy the whole DVD set. It wasn’t as exciting as the commercial made it to be, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
First aired: September 11, 1991 on TBS
Last aired: January 23, 1994 on MTV
So when did it last air on TBS?
October 17, 1993
If it ended January 23, 1994 on MTV, then when did it begin?
January 1, 1994
I remember it on TBS. The same network that at the time, aired shows at :05 and :35 after the hour, instead of at the top and bottom of the hour.
I remember this commercial as a kid and how it scared me.
Me 2 personally!
yes I remember this commercial
The scenes from this commercial have to been from the whole series, not just "Hunting and Escaping".
I remember see this shit on TV when I was a kid, but couldn't order it. I want to call the number and see if they still sell it.
The series was very scary, especially for younger audiences.
Sounds like New York City.

Some kind of salamander, I'd guess.
Beavis and Butthead brought me here.
Beavis quotes that advert during S04E22 The Pipe of Doom. I'm glad RUclips made sure that reference wasn't lost to time.
Same-they were watching the video for Them Bones by Alice In Chains. “These guys are pissed off.” 😆
Ok, that's what I thought.
i think i got the series on DVD
Obviously, yes!
Who is the narrator on this commercial?
"The year is 1992..."
That would be the voice of the legendary Vic Caroli, known for his epic voice acting for The Transformers.
Beavis and Butt-Head watching Alice In Chains’ Them Bones video, anyone?
at 0:22, what animal is that?
@tapedfromcable Eh, that's good old American capitalism for ya. ;)
😮 I'm not going to buy those, because it's cruelty, & sickening.😞
it’s nature
