Yay hockey! Passed my first two on the first try, thankfully, then failed IFM this past fall. There were various logical reasons why I failed, but the irrational self doubt crushed me just the same. "What if I never pass IFM and it goes away and I have to start from the beginning with the new modules!?" Also, my kids are old enough to understand the exam process, and I had to come home to their eagerly awaiting faces in defeat. Ouch. Thankfully I passed IFM 3 weeks ago, and it's on to the next thing! It must take *serious* determination to not pass one's first exam, TWICE, and still keep going. I was lucky to have notched 2 exams before failing my first. I anticipate more "professional opportunities to model for my kids how to deal with setbacks" before I get The Letters, and having failed once *theoretically* will soften the blow of future failures. I guess we'll see. Thank you for the work you do, Brea. Keep it up!
Yess!! This is why it's so important to change our perspective about failure. It's part of success, not the opposite of it! A great lesson for the kids too :) I'm rooting for you!!
Hi Brea, I’m a junior in college majoring in statistics. It took me 3 times to pass exam fm and then passed exam p a week ago on my 2nd try. I also have an actuarial internship next summer! Now I don’t know what to do for IFM since it changes in November. Should I just wait until after college to pursue IFM so my employer pays for it? I kind of want to enjoy my last year in college so that’s what I prefer to do but I’d love to hear what you think!
Hi there! While passing IFM before it changes would be great, I think focusing on school should be your top priority. With two exams passed and an internship on the way, you're already in a great spot! You can always pass exams later, but you can't redo your school experience (or change your GPA). So yes, I totally agree with you! :)
@@EtchedActuarial Awesome, thanks for the response and advice! Is there any way you could do an updated video about ATPA? People on Reddit said it’s gonna be harder than Exam PA but it’ll be before PA so I don’t know how that will work
You're welcome! :) It's hard to say how ATPA will be since it hasn't had its first sitting yet. I'll definitely keep it in mind for a future video topic! Thanks for the suggestion!
Hi there! :) It's totally possible, even thought it might be a challenge! If you focus on becoming a top candidate, you'll have the skill employees are looking for, so you'll get interviews even for those select few positions. Here's a video with the process I recommend! ruclips.net/video/z10wT4qLa34/видео.html
Hi Vineet! Thank you for the suggestion. I wish I was able to make content for students in India! As of right now, I'm not familiar enough with the actuarial journey there to give you great advice. But I'm rooting for you! :)

I'm so glad this video was helpful for you! Keep it up, you can do this! :D
Bring your AAC for indian students also and make some videos related to IAI as well, cause a large audience in India is waiting.
