@@JetFlix the " older" generation of aircraft...they had " character". and so did their powerplants...today..very frankly when sitting in the airport lounge...I barely look at the tarmac / apron... literally all the aircraft look and sound the same...just in different colours / logos...a sad part of the changing aviation history one supposes...keep up the good work...please give us more gems like this content...!!! Take care and stay safe...

What a sweet plane. I flew Air North's HS748's to Dawson City this past August. Wonderful experience, great airline. Well worth the trip and expense.

HS748s and the F27 are the sounds of my childhood. use to fly them a lot with Mount cook airlines and Air New Zealand

AvGeek NZ actually Air North acquired most of their HS748 fleet from Mt. Cook when they were retired in the early to mid 1990s.

Wow I thought the Dash 8 100-300 have the best takeoff sound but the HS Avro 748 reminded me that it has the best turbo prop sound in the world (In my opinion). I can remember LIAT The Caribbean Airline flying those props back in the 80s/90s.

My first plane ride was on a Philippine Airlines HS-748 in the early 70s.

Joey K Philippine Airlines did indeed operated HS748s from the late 60s to the early or mid 1990s I believe.

As a kid, I used to fly on one of these AVROs, that were operated by Linea Aeropostal Venezolana (LAV) from the mid 1960`s thru the early 1980`s, I wonder if this is one of these HS 748 sold to Air North by LAV. It looks in good shape.

TTAS (Trinidad and Tobago Air Service) used these for inter-island flights until the 1980s.
