They channeled the Supernatural to write & play all the incredible songs they've written as do all music stars. Have you heard their new album ??? Shoot For Your Heart, UNLEASH THE BEAST (Megalodon in 2024?), Out Go The Lights, Shining Of Your Soul, Rock Believer, Gas In The Tank, Peacemaker & When Tomorrow Comes are 8 solid songs. Klaus even said "My momma said I had a Devil to scratch my soul"
yes, they were very close to superstardom and then Klaus' voice was gone ! He even went to Rudolf and suggested that they should look out for a another singer^ Rudolf response was great : " What a new singer ? are you gone mad ?? we gonna make everything for you so you can get healthy again ! And the rest ist history^@
The soundtrack of my life when I was 15 years old. More than forty years later, I'm still supporting the Scorps! I love the Rock Believer album. It's a return to the 80's kick-ass sound. I saw the tour in San Antonio recently. Blessed to say I've seen them in concert in every decade since the 80's
Could not agree more. 53 years old and have been favorite band since blackout in 82. Then discovered Tokyo Tapes,Animal Magnetism and Lovedrive. Have every album and I too saw them in every decade starting in1988. Went to Chicago in 2022 to show also. Great time and still sound amazing. So many great songs. Very rare for me not to like a song from this band. Favorite song is Blackout, Animal Magnetism,Hey You and China White. Still listening to them all the time and got to go to show in Chicago with one of my boys so that was priceless.
You no doubt were also seeing Angel, Legs Diamond, and so many other great bands like UFO etc that while Rush was putting on legendary shows, The Scorpions were better concerts than most bigger name bands of the era. Rolling Stones couldn't touch Scorpions live in concert. Nor could Sabbath, as much as I dearly love Sabbath, probably more than Scorpions a tad. But Rush is the only band I can definitively say was a nudge better in concert than the Scorpions. NOT BY MUCH!! Rick Sanford of Legs Diamond was a different level in studio. But Klaus could perform all their songs. No Auto Tune. Dio was great too. But maybe not as good of material to sing. I think Klaus had Dio by a nudge live in concert. Scorpions really need more recognition.
I was at the same show.I'm From Rochester, born n raised.Scorp's always rocked live.Don't know how many times I seen them live, but at least a half dozen times.Scorpions were my youth. No question.
Wow!! First time to watch Animal Magnetism live from that era!! Epic video!! It means so much for the fans to access the golden years!! We want more!!!
@@lacecreationz2434 Because it's minor key musically and they way the are sang against the melody of the music makes it feel, of a darker mood compared to many of their other songs. It has a sort of animal watching in the shadows, waiting for it's prey mood.
Klaus seems to put every ounce of effort into each performance and every song. Like each song will be his last song... Incredible. And incredibly hard to do, night in and night out while on the road...in a foreign country.
Maybe I'm wrong but to me you can definitely hear the Scorpions' influence in many heavy metal albums to come. Those "Arabian" influences are present in a lot of Metallica tunes for an example. People often forget how influential the scorps' late 70s and early 80s records are. Definitely metal pioneers.
My cousin and I were at the show in Houston we were probably 14 years old and this is the song I really remembered to me with such a heavy song I’ve been a scorpions fan ever since
Now I know why I've heard this song until recently. I was a kid when it came out and hard rock/metal was not being played on the radio yet. These guys were ahead of the times! This song just grips me I absolutely love it & play it loud every day! I think it would be a hit in today's world! ❤❤❤❤Love you guys so much!! To me this is a masterpiece! The drums, the guitars, the vocals-coordinating perfectly! 😍🌹
I am so Thankful you shared this. This moment was locked in my brain for over 40 years!!!!!!! I saw them perform this in Long Beach and was blown away. This has to be a hard song to recreate live. Klaus was pushing his vocal chords to the brink!!!! After this tour it would be two years for him to heal after his surgery. Thank God he did
Stunning!!!! So powerful and my favorite post Roth song by far!!! You can hear the torturing impact starting to rip Klause's voice away. It's dark, brooding and epic. What a spectacular moment in time!
Wow! Mind blowing all the way, you know! Where has this footage been all these years? Great song and the Scorpions with Matthias Jabs are really rocking here after the Uli Jon Roth era and how about that solo from Rudy! I saw the Animal Magnetism Tour in Phoenix (Def Leppard opened up) a week before this show and it blew me away and even saw them at the Sports Arena in LA that summer. Steamrock Fever!
On the album there's kind of an evil laugh at the end I wish he would have included that, To me it changes the whole meaning of song... In the movie The wrestler I was blown away when Marisa tomei was dancing to this song it was kind of esoteric I knew not many people knew who was singing it..
Time,Wind of Change,Rhitm of Love....? Но со временем адаптировалась, потом даже Accept, Metallica,Slayer, Megadeth стала слушать.Но до Cannibal Corpse, Death, Obituary не доросла. 😊😊😊
THRILLED!! to see this pop up today. One of my favorite Scorpions tracks from my favorite LP. My memory of this song is hearing them do this at Soundcheck on the Blackout Tour 82. I was outside the doors for hours of the venue. We saw them come in, and heard this coming from inside. Thanks for sharing this clip from 1980 USA Tour!
Wow, imagine finding this video here. I was at that show in Houston, my time to see Scorpions. That lead me down the rabbit hole to find the previous albums, been a fan since the Animal Magnetism album. Rock on!
The evolution of the scorpions is been alright with me i enjoy All of them mikee Dee Kottak Herman Rick Ricker uli jabbs they are awesome musicians and my favorite 🤩👍🤩🦂🎸
Momma Schenker screaming from the kitchen "Rudolph and Michael turn those damn guitarzzz down its time for bed. You kids will never amount to anything playing that metal rock n roll"...LOL
Grazie mille cari Scorpions per aver condiviso questo Bellissimo spettacolo e canzone così come l'affascinante video 🎻🎤✨🙏 Un meritato applauso 👋 Buon fine settimana 🏖️ A presto 🇮🇹 🤗 ✨ ✔️
I didn’t have to, I borrowed it from my oldest brother and made cassette copies for my friends just before Blackout came out. Bought the CD when it was first released but like a lot of those older CD’s the dynamic range was seriously lacking until it was remastered specifically for the digital format. 🤘🖖✌️
🤯were they a opening band on this date? Rare to see Rudolph take the lead but I’m glad he does, especially with his iconic black and white Flying V guitar. Is it a Gibson, I think it is🤔🤘🖖✌️🎸🎸🥁🎤MORE LIKE THIS put it on a Blu-ray and take my money please
Testament did a cover of this song...and its one of my favorite songs from them...then I found out it was a cover...didnt realize that at the time..Im not familiar with really old scorpions songs.
What a rare live performance of this great song....animal magnetism, great era great album!!!

@@LordGandor3 The new album is great!
@@LordGandor3 no, but the rock believer one, is very strong!!!!
Animal Magnetism and China White is the most atmospheric and narcotic tunes ever recorded from Scorpions! Pure metal riffs!
Oh yes man very dark songs I think Animal Magnetism is heavier.
Rudolf Schenker 🦂🎸🤟🤟

Both brutally heavy....two of my Scorps faves for sure.
Ah - in the days before it was all ballads
I love it when Rudolf takes the occasional solo. He's not technical or fast, but he has loads of feeling. Not a lot of notes, but all the right ones.
I agree!! I enjoy his solos very much. Especially those on their ballads
I saw him play in Colorado about 10 years ago and Rudolf just killed it on a solo on Still Loving You. His tone on a gold Flying V was fantastic.
Behold...the most misunderstood heavy metal giants.
Release the whole concert already and stop teasing us!
That riff is killer! 🎸🦂
That killer is riff! 🦂 🎸
Wow. This is a rare treat. Never seen this song performed live from its original era. Fantastic.
Klaus‘ voice is simply amazing!!! What a great singer 👍👍👍
Brilliant vocals here !
During this time he blew out hos voice though. Surgery and the other guys waited for him then blackout and they were off to super stardom

This song is so heavy that warps spacetime. Amazing Scorpions song🦂
Saw this tour on July 18 1980 in Rochester NY, Def Leppard opened, both bands kicked ass, Scorps were on fire that night!
How lucky are you! Two of my favourite bands!
that’s my birthday!

@@chuckcasper7765 That's awesome! I grew up in Penfield myself, live in FL now. Saw the Scorpions 5 times between 1980 and 1991.
This concert is a rare gemstone! More please!!! 🙏🎸
Wow!! First time to watch Animal Magnetism live from that era!! Epic video!! It means so much for the fans to access the golden years!! We want more!!!
Marisa Tomei is dancing right now, and we all love her as much as we love the Scorps.
Black sabbath meets Scorpions from Lonesome crow...HEAVY!
Never saw or heard this rare gem live.
Yes, this is the first time I've seen a live version of this song.
That's what every fan wants. I love watching old and rare videos, especially of underrated songs. I hope there is much more! 🇧🇷❤️🦂
I still think this is one of the darkest, if not the darkest song they've ever composed.
Why would you say it’s dark?
@@lacecreationz2434 Because it's minor key musically and they way the are sang against the melody of the music makes it feel, of a darker mood compared to many of their other songs. It has a sort of animal watching in the shadows, waiting for it's prey mood.

The riff is so heavy and dark , love the scorpions
Klaus, Rudolf, Jabs, Francis and Rebell probably the best Scorpions line up ever
Agree totally! 👍
I preferred Uli over Jabs
No way man …gotta be with Uli !

Nessa época o Metallica estava provavelmente ensaiando em garagens ou eram garotos que jogavam games em um domingo de manhã.
Hoping there's footage of Lady Starlight from this same tour. I still remember it to this day
You remember the setlist ?
Did they played the lady starlight live?
I hope they did the guitar solo.....

Oh what a great video
What a show...and what a pitty it was hidden all those years
We need more
We need a box set with all that stuff
If you can…. Please post in its entirety 🤘🏼

Klaus very great vocal ❤❤

Saw them once in California and twice in Arizona. Each time was better than the last.
Really tasty guitar solo. Slow and powerful.

The time after Uli Roth, a cut for so many Scorpion fans. But Jabs played brilliant here....
OMG!!! That’s the Ultra Mega Mighty Scorpions. Wonderful !!!! Heavy Metal 🤘
70’s scorpions is the best. Same with Priest. Great decade for metal.
This is 80’s Scorpions
that just the greatest song and performance!!!!
saw this in SF
the one song I really remember!!! 43 years ago
This is the best scorpions lineup ever. Nothing will ever top this. Jabs, schenker, Francis, Rarebell and meine
Such a hypnotic mesmerizing obscure track. Love this song
Such a powerful song. I saw them twice in 3 days in 82 on their Blackout tour. And you can bet they did this and the Zoo.
And "In Trance" ..I saw them way back then as well and love their older stuff..but even today it's impressive they still go out and tour..
WOW!!! F'n cool... I'm a 40-year Scorpions fan, this is like heaven-

I feel in love with Klaus in 1980 at the ripe age of 18 before even seeing him! His voice is amazing. In 2024 Klaus is still my favorite singer.

Rudy knew how to come up with simple, but yet very effective riffs.
I saw them on this tour in Cleveland, OH., the bill was Judas Priest, Scorpions & Def Leppard. Tix were $6.00
Those were great days back then this song is undoubtedly the soundtrack of my youth
