Good video! sadly I’m watching this because my neighbors keep throwing there garbage in my can lol ended up getting cameras too because of it. Ridiculous!
Same problem with my neighbors! If I attach the same hinge as you, can I use only one? If I place it in the center of the can will people still be able to open my lid on thr side and throw away trash? Do you think one is enough to keep people out or do I have to attach 2 on each can?
Awesome, exactly what I was thinking of doing, thanks for the video! I can't seem to find the kit on Ace's site, do you happen to remember what they called it? Prob just using the wrong search terms.
Not sure the exact name of the kit I would call your local ace and see if they sell it as a kit ours does over in pensacola florida. Thanks for watching
it doesn't seem like you can use a trash bag to line the can now , without ripping. The bag due to the bolts sticking out on the inside of the can when trying to remove it
I believe it’s more geared to storing bags of trash outside. I’m gonna try this. Hopefully I will not be picking trash up almost every morning all across the dive way.
Super! I want to do the same. Where did you buy it? what's the thing called? I googled but can't find the same stuff.. thanks!!
You’re ultra clever, thanx for this!
Awesome thanks for watching

@@crdriscoll1 was it sold as a bear proofing kit or something more general purpose?
@@erikl85 it was sold as a bear trash can locking kit
@@crdriscoll1 thanks for your responsiveness man!
The Bears will go through the other end of the lid. Bastards are strong.. the cans with no weak points are like $500
@Real Chris, I can't find these at Ace, do you know where else to buy this type of lock?
Lowes and Home Depot will definitely have the hasp and locks but probably won’t come as a kit.
Hi, what's the name of the kit?
It’s a bear proof lock kit is what it’s sold at Ace Hardware

Good point

@@beardog9450 same reason we put the locks on was tired of picking them up I actually installed them on the surrounding neighbors
Bears in my neck of the woods will destroy the can listen if you lock it.
Sorry. Destroy the lid.
Yeah man we have seen them do it over our way. They want in it they will get in it lol
I'm needing to put a lock on my goats food so people will quit over feeding my goats grain.
