I believe it’s possible to improve the 4/20 strategy even more. That is that you almost never have to waste time checking the right door light. This is because Chica’s last stop before the blind spot is the east hall corner, th same place you’re using to keep Freddy at bay. Chica will always take precedent over Freddy on the cameras, so you’ll always see her when she’s there. This means you only need to check the right door light when you’ve seen Chica in the east hall corner, and she’s since left there.
I’d also like to know the methodology you used for determining the time intervals in this video.
Great vid btw!
Good idea, I didn’t determine the intervals myself, there was a spreadsheet on r/technicalFNAF that I saw then I just went into a custom night game with every animatronic at 0 except for the one I was testing at 20, since he movement chance is always 100% at 20 AI it could be used to test their intervals
Not all the time, surprisingly enough. I’ve played through 4/20 mode too many times to count, and sometimes chica will just ignore the door entirely, moving back to the hall, as opposed to the office.
Someone also did say to look at the camera slightly longer (1 second) to freeze Foxy even more, but I can't confirm this myself.
They said it will increase power usage, but it might help that you won't deal with Foxy even once.
I just beat 4/20 mode because of this lol, i wasnt getting the cameras fast enough to keep foxy down, but this strat made it work pretty much instantly, i even had power to spare at the end
I didn’t know if this was one big long convoluted 420 joke or not
The optimal strategy is to manually lower your frame rate to 1fps and wait for 7 minutes for the game to finish because the night timer is based on actual time and the interval time for animatronics is based on the number of frames
Lol 😂😂😂😂😂
I mean he is right
@@TheBones5 He forgot that night is 8,55 minutes long.
What about Foxy? Shouldn’t their auto rush kill you in game for being afk?
uhm actually, the night is 8 minutes and 55 seconds, and the animatronics also use real time, but they cant kill you unless you use the cameras, and foxy is the only one affected by frames and is the only one who can kill you without you using your cameras 🤓
Interesting fact; the whole "foxy doesn't move if you look at him" is of course a misconception, as you stated. Camera usage in general stalls him. Though funnily enough this misinterpretation leads to many fangame devs actually making their foxy stand-in operate the way most assume
Scott even made Foxy work like that in UCN, which is pretty funny
If I had to remake this game I would make it that to prevent the west hall corner cheese
Frankly I wish Foxy did work like everyone assumes in the main game it would make it harder to cheese
Fun fact: because of an engine quirk, it's possible to fully decompile FNAF 1. Someone did it and found out that Bonnie almost completely disregards room adjacency and appears randomly in any of his possible destinations except the hallway corner.
intresting, it take it this wasn't intentional?
@@TheBones5if It IS the engine quirk, no. If it is Bonnie teleporting at random, yes. Apparently Bonnie canonically doesn't abide by the laws of physics.
@@friskycalibri2293, he's just like Flumpty in the first game, both can teleport anywhere they want and attack from the left door. However, Bonnie only teleports only to every left side camera except Pirate Cove and the hall corner (the latter of which he can only get to by being in the hall or closet, while Flumpty can just teleport anywhere except directly at the right door, the Redman's cave, and the music box room (this means that he can go directly to the left door at any time or never do so for the entire night, as well as be completely invisible when he is on the same camera the Redman is in that isn't his cave).

It can be done with any game that uses click-team fusion. (I think that is what it’s called?) it’s been a known thing for many years even before FNAF was made.
It’s certainly easier than having to reverse engineer the whole program. Although I’m not sure if i would be comfortable with random people on the internet going through my code, criticizing and scrutinizing every decision made?
Thank you for correctly explaining the Foxy mechanic. That misread always bothered me: the idea of him needing to be specifically watched in FnaF 1 is a misconception based on Phone Guy being unclear. He mentions a character in Pirate Cove you should keep an eye on, and then his monologue gives the correct informaton that Foxy gets more active as the cameras are left off, after which Phone Guy semi-seriously proffers the idea that maybe Foxy doesn't like being watched. That one line threw people off and made them assume Pirate's Cove needed to be checked, when really Foxy exists to both force the player to check the cameras generally and to not spend too much their time in them, as Foxy punishes you for either one: he "doesn't like being watched," so he'll initially be shy, but the longer the cameras are on, the more angry he'll become. After all, how could Foxy know which camera you're looking through? All he would see is the red light indicating the camera is transmitting.
The FnaF series as a set of case studies in game design is absolutely fascinating, as the actual game mechanics have a surprising amount of possible depth despite its incredibly simple base system. It's one of the reasons I respect the series.
Okay, the BEAR5 thing caught me off guard.
warning! bear5
I’m so glad you specifically mentioned how foxy doesn’t need to be looked at, just the cameras need to be used. It hits my ear wrong every time someone describes foxy like Freddy 😂
I learned that from a video
Foxy I always check on him doing the classic check foxy make sure bonnie and chica at the door close the door
I think it's actually really funny how Freddy himself is kinda, deliberately unfair in that he moves very fast compared to the others, and will essentially embed himself in the worst possible position for you if we look at it through the older strategy's lenses, but modern strategies have turned that into an easy mode, solely because of how Freddy is the only actual animatronic that cares if he's observed, meanwhile Foxy's requirement is just having the camera on at all. IIRC the highest his AI level actually gets in the normal nights is like, 4 or something, not counting the AI level increases as time progresses, I do not remember if he increases or how high he increases if he does, my memory is fuzzy on this one.
To me it's super comical that Freddy is both at his most dangerous in this game, but it's actually a massive weakness. Compared to all the other games where Freddy is mostly normal, in this one his special traits such as faster movement intervals, being much harder to see on camera, not being seeable through door lighting, and just flat out killing you the moment you don't watch him on camera specifically at 4B, chilling is fine, but otherwise you're dead. But none of that matters, because he's camera shy.
Really funny to me.
Still Freddy’s Quirks have them be exempt from getting faster as the night goes on presumably for balance
I had literally just talked how nobody made videos regarding strategy and in game mechanic understanding of most FNAF games since release. I mean, even though I have beaten Pizzaria Simulator, I still have no idea how the heck the game works in general. Good to see someone putting the work out there mate.

I used that strat when I did this challenge last summer, it took me less than 10 tries after not touching the game for months. Every time I missed it was because I accidentally switched cameras when I didn't want to (the problem of console).
It was so effective that even though it turned to 4AM I was at around 17%, I still didn't run out of power.
In my opinion, the easiest of the Big challenges of the first 6 games. But FNAF 3 is VERY close.
I once beat the entire game from Night 1 to Night 7 (20/20/20/20) without dying once despite not having unironically played (As in actually try to beat the game/entire game) the game for over 3 years previously.
This guide was not only super useful, but also it was very entertaining! You deserve more subs!
I mean
Technically Golden Freddy is a Bear
And he is #5
So Bear5 is a threat
Just saw you're fnaf 2 video on this im starting the whole playlist now im enjoying you're channel you're content is incredible the way you bounce through topics is great the information you gathered really interesting and you're editing was solid as well all and all greay work on this dude 👍 ight ima stop stroking the ego now
Dude. The music choice in the Basic Mechanics section is TOP NOTCH. I really want to see more channels using music from that artist. Hold is one of my favorite songs of all time
To explain it, chica is the easiest to understand, she just goes through the right path, and can only jumpscare you when she reaches the door, then there is Bonnie, how is the left door equivalent of chica with one key difference, Bonnie can attack form both the door, or the supply closet, Freddy is almost identical to chica, but he has a countdown of when he moves when his ai is less than 10, and he doesn’t move away form the day like Bonnie and chica, and foxy is the odd one out, using his movement opportunities to progress through stages, once he reaches stage four, he will rush the left door, and take increasingly more power form you every time he does, also both Freddy and foxy can be camera stalled, foxy when just looking at the cameras, and Freddy when looking at his camera, while Bonnie and chica can not be.
Bro acctually need more subs quality content man. Keep on going
I’ve been watching your videos with my boyfriend and he just told me ur yt name so I could watch your stuff whilst I’m home and I didn’t expect you to only have a few videos , I was going to binge all of them! I still will even though there’s not as many as I thought!, love your videos keep it up ! Under 7000 subs gang
I use a slightly different strategy, since we have the camera open on 4B we dont have to check the right door unless chica is in 4B or there is camera static indicating movement. This means we spend less time in the office and can flip the cameras more meaning foxy is less likely to come.
cute dog
Recently, I was trying the classic BigBug/Markiplier strategy in 4/20 mode with no luck whatsoever. Then I tried the strategy outlined in this video, and I beat it first attempt! Thank you for doing this!
This was actually helpful for a minecraft map I'm working on that replicates fnaf by using commands to teleport large scale statues of the animatronics around
If the AI can always move when the value is 20, wouldn’t it technically be harder to beat 5/19 or 5/18 mode because they could have a chance to just get stuck outside your doors for a few minutes?
Thank you so much, I couldn't figure out how to do it but this will surely help me complete night 7, thanks again 👍
I used this strategy, and surprisingly Foxy didn’t charge at my door even ONCE! He never even left the curtain, all he did was peek his head out and stayed there for the entire night
I only die to foxy in this strat
@@leafy8507 yeah foxy is definitely the hardest to deal with in my opinion. With F,B and C. They all have certain patterns or ways you can deal with them, foxy is just pure

this video plays like a summoning salt video and it's so funny to me. thank you friend this video is incredible but also i couldn't help but laugh a little
6:51 correction here, it can only go up to 20 seconds. I’ve counted it myself upon playing the game several times, and the max it reaches is 20.
i was going to say like jeez that's a long time
If this is how the FNAF games work, then I imagine they can *very easily* be ported to a d20 TTRPG system like D&D with basically zero homebrew.
Ive died to foxy multiple times. I only check to see if hes left when Chica is at the door but everytime he hasnt left then comes into my office later
Nothing like watching how to beat FNAF even though I got a massive paper due in like 2 hours
Crazy Info 🎉
Thanks for clarifynig Bonnie's movement, Tech Rules confused me with saying that he just teleports randomly
That's because Bonnie does. He can choose literally any room on the right side, rather than just adjacent rooms
when bonnie is in the backstage, he can move to the dining area, or "teleport" to the hallway. when hes in the supply closet, he can move to the hallway, or "teleport" to the door.
@@egg_ox i know spreading misinformation is fun but he was already confused, no need to confused him more lol
@@bsheepdestroyermakesstuff7222 that makes a lot of sense, thank you. Yeah I always thought when playing the game that he was sometimes "skipping" the rooms, but that teleport comment just made it all confusing.
Idk why I wanted to learn this info but thanks

How??
@@Bezerks Foxy didn't enter the bedroom no more.
Question, what happens on custom night when Bonnie and Chica are set at 0? They do end up moving in the later hours, does the game just bump their AI up to 1 to make them active?
Yeah, I’m fairly certain they get bumped up a point at 2am
they need to move so Freddy can move
Bonnie's AI moves up one at 2 AM, and everyone except Freddy gets another increase of one at 3 and 4 AM
all of the animatronics are actually set to 0 on night 1, so custom night with them all set to 0 is the same except for the power difference. at 2 am bonnie gets +1 ai level and at 3 and 4 am, bonnie, chica, and foxy all get +1 ai level.
THANK YOU MAN
Heeeeey HOME - Hold. Excellent song choice
Foxy doesn't need to be stared at via cameras to have him at bay. You only need to be using them. It is better to use the cameras to look for Freddy as looking at him makes it easier to handle him in 20/20/20/20 mode.
Explaining fnaf liek it wasn’t a game where it’s just feeling like 9 nights at Bonnie’s, I like it
Slight correction: it was actually found that Foxy is paused whether or not the camera is directly on him. As long as the cameras are up, he won’t be able to take a movement opportunity. Regardless, excellent video! Earned a sub from me. ❤

IMO, of the main 4, I have the most hated for Bonnie when i first started playing fnaf.

Yeah it should

Fun fact about fnaf 2 you almost have a half a second to move or to defend the animatronics because yes that's how scott fun fact even if you set all of the animatronics to zero foxy will still have Al
The weird part is, I’m trying this, and foxy keeps killing me even though I’m checking the cameras, did it get patched or am I insane
make sure you check foxy whenever the right door is closed from a chica attack, theoretically he should never move but the interval times aren't always consistent.

I love FNAF!!!!
i can't believe I'm still learning new stuff about fnaf 1 in 2023. I didn't know Freddy's song had a random length.
The foxy strat doesn't work, I go light, light, freddy, then repeat, but by 4-5 am foxy jumpscares me despite me checkings cams every 1-4 seconds, pls help!
In custom night if you have 3% power do not do anything because it will trigger somebody animatronics
the worst part about 4/20 and fnaf 1 in general is the clickteam button glitch where you cant click on the buttons too fast
You can click the buttons as fast as you want but ONLY if you don't click on the same spot. If you move your cursor bewteen clicks then it'll work
It's not any easier though cause doing the movement sucks lmao
Oh actually my bad, you can't click as fast as you want but you can click faster than if you were to click on the same spot
Hold up, since now you can just flip the camera to the East Hall corner and completely freeze Freddy there, how often are you supposed to check the cameras? He will still come in if you leave it off too long.
And is it reliable to only wait for Chica to appear just so you can close the right door and check pirate cove instead? What if foxy comes for you before she does? And wouldn’t it be more tedious to change cameras rather than stick to one?
the best way to do it is just flip as often as you can to keep foxy locked down so well that you literally never need to check him
i ALSO beat 4/20 first try with that strat lol
I beat night 6 without freddy even reaching the door. Each time i flipped up the camera i switched between foxy and freddy
yeah that can work on earlier nights, freddy's AI isn't that high so he likely won't move as fast, shooter25 even beat 4/20 this way, but it's very difficult
Me whos never played a fnaf game besides SB: 🤔interesting.
I heard that in FNAF 1 20/19/20/20 is even harder
I know freddy ans foxy ans chica due to the fact once you play long enough you can predict where they move

Five nights at bear 5

Do these tactics apply to Help Wanted as well?
not always, a lot of the minigames are very different, fnaf 2 doesn't even feature the withered animatronics

Yes
