that's Buster, he's always played like that.
The craziest part about it to me is that every one of his downstrokes is an upstroke technically because it’s all upside down
absolutely pointless but yeah, insane
If you play it at half speed and look closely, the strings are actually not upside down. I think it’s The Mandela Effect.

This is the closest they’ve put out to it. But he’s doing a partnership with them to get you to very close sound like them. Hope this might help

It’s complicated because its not the PIn by itself.
You can watch the DAW open in another window.
The chain is somewhat like this: Whammy with midi automation, EQ, Compressor, PIn Gojira with high noise gate 1:30pm, EQ, Saturn 2, Stereo PIn and another track mono ….
You're not getting his sound by a preset. His mixing etc is masterfully done and is responsible for the sound that he makes

If you want a Gojira song with the gnarliest instros/breaks and patterns id recommend "This Emptiness", "All the Tears", "Remembrance (Link Alive performance)", "Heaviest Matter of the Universe", "The Axe" or "The Way of All Flesh".
Post more recommendations below as far as the most intense Gojira songs on guitar.

Odelholm Audio Eebsote has Buster Odeholm's own plug ins and vsts. I reccomend his bass vst stuff for Konktakt and his vst drums are elite... So sick sounding. I also have GGD ARCHITECTS and it just sounded way more crushing right out if the bix but when i loaded it up it was one of the best csrs ive ever used for this type of genre. Check out the other bands buster produces. They all rip. Heavensgate, THROWN, Born Of Osiris and especially ALLT.

I was going to comment about how buster holds his pick hand like a gorilla. Then I really thought about it and I can't think of a better way to do it if you are gonna play with your guitar flipped like that. Otherwise your fingers are going to get in the way of the "low" strings.

to stop any strings from getting caught on the corner of the pickup, usually it's done for the highest/thinnest strings, but i imagine since these guys are smacking the lowest like it owes them money, that's the one most at risk of getting caught on account of the low tuning making it extra wobbly

The amount of outside effects, plug ins, and other midi doing the pitch shifting here is monumental, this is a misleading advertisement for the Neural plug in itself, to think you'd get this sound with just the plug in is a farce

They typically play in drop F# or lower, and use tuning pedals to get down to as low as double drop A. Their songs will basically all have multiple tuning changes throughout, going down for some of the lower chuggy parts, and then going up for the shrieky dissonant parts.

I'd have to agree. It's best to look at it as an expression of art like going into a gallery and viewing artwork that just looks like junk. That being said I have Archetype Gojira and its by far the best ampsim neuraldsp have put out.
@@ridesharesydneydrivers8592 the gojira is a beast, I'm back using the Fortin Cali Suite and digging it a ton. But it's harder to work into a mix than the Gojira.
However, this demonstration is a bit too much sizzle and incoherent notes for me 🥲
