Actually he wasn't very good, missed lots of keywords. He never figured out why she went to Glasgow, what was with her and performing, about the wig, he never even checked for "twins". He missed a lot of the story. But I guess he probably had limited time to play. It took me two-three evenings to get everything.

Wonder777 Warrior on one video she has a tattoo on another not. On one she has a bruise on another after only a couple of days she has not. When she got her hair up she always talks about how they were fighting sometimes meanwhile hair down = calmer demeanor and more thoughtful.

I think Eve killed Simon because Hannah was moving on with her life. Based on the mannerisms of each twin, it seems like Eve is more dominant and a bit aggressive; perhaps vengeful. Whereas Hannah seemed like everything was fine before Eve came along.
Thank you i kept muttering their twins not a split personality, Florence kept one telling the real mother that she died so that she could keep her.

I love how popular this is making Her Story again. I watched IHasCupquake play it years ago and got so excited hearing that there would be a series with a private investigator playing it. Such a great game and quite a brilliant concept.
Anybody notice the investigator wrote down the car info backwards? Cavalier shared by the couple & the van for work owned by Erik his boss.

Wait No. They're twins. The midwife lied said one baby died but kept one (Eve) who found out when she was 8 and probably killed her. Then went and found Hannah and lived it the attic. And then they would switch places. And have to mirror everything that happened to each other. They grew up and Hannah really loved Simon and they would go away for holiday because Hannah wanted to be alone with Simon without Eve. Then Hannah got pregnant but Eve couldn't. So I'm assuming Eve decided that Hannah couldn't have the baby and planned a "miscarriage". Eve was jealous of Hannah and Simon, and felt left behind so she killed Simon.

Everyone watching this, there’s no clear ending to the story. However you interpret it, is how you interpret it. Some people believe their twins and some people believe it’s the multiple personalities. The people using her story as proof that it’s two different people with the midwife lying and stealing her sister.
The game is specifically building that up for you to believe her, she could easily have fabricated that. It’s not as easy as you think.

@@iliketrains3370 welp I think it is possible if she had DID cause those who had DID had different "self" inside them thus those "self" may or may not take hold the main "self" of them if they had severe DID or lowering their awareness of their other "self". So I agree that they had DID instead of twins cause technically speaking those who had DID technically had their own "siblings" inside their own body

I've seen a lot of people play this and it's interesting to get a PI perspective. I notice that (probably due to his irl job) he's focusing more on people names, locations names, and appearance descriptions. I've yet to see a single normal player pay attention to what Simon was wearing, but it makes sense that a PI would hone in on that.
To be fair, players quickly realize we're not meant to search up where Simon is (which is where knowing what he was wearing would be useful), since we learn Simon is dead pretty soon into the story. The detail only exists because the first videos are from when Hannah was reporting Simon as missing, and the police would ask for a description.
I saw a playthrough of this game a while ago, (Geek Remix) and I'm confident that I worked out the story from it.
PS, you can change the appearance of the screen in game, and if you give it the retro look (how it looked at 1:35 ) whenever the screen goes dark, you can see a reflection of your character in the screen. (I think it happens when you uncover a major bit of evidence.)
PS, if they need ideas for key words to look up, try "wind" (should give you the rest of the song) , "window", "fairytale", "secret" "attic", "blonde" and "mirror". Any names should be checked, (Hannah, Eve, Florence etc.)
And the Tapping is a Tap code. (different to morse code, letters are based on number of taps) (I think that's explained if you look up "tap", but not 100% sure.)
the people from the play through I saw translated it, but I don't want to say what was said cos it's major spoilers.
I'll leave the translations on the last video of the game, if they don't translate the messages during the video.

@@avasweeney6614 no, it's not morse at all. Essentially, the number of taps relates to a letter. You can look up the letter grid to work out how to translate it.

@@bbasae993 i think the implication is that the midwife, florence, took one of the twins from their mother just after birth and told the woman one of her children is dead so she could keep Eve for herself as she always wanted a family, but couldn't have one after her husband died. the twins found out about each other, the real parents didn't have a clue, the kids managed as well as kids could.

He probably didn't bother following that up because most investigators find polygraph tests ineffective. Measuring heart rate and etc tells you if a person is nervous, not why or if what they said is actually true. Coaching for polygraph tests, while not full proof, is often effective for manipulating results.
^^its true. If you manage to stay calm when you’re lying then there’s no way for the polygraph to “dictate” youre lying. They’ve done studies on this, it’s just a way to manipulate and deceive the perpetrator
@@XaerQwickBlade Paul Ekman's Telling lies has a whole chapter on ridiculousness of the polygraph... If you watched Lie to Me with Tim Roth (based on it), they show a few times than a person can act like he's nervous simply because he's seeing a hot woman enter the room. Really, you need to know WHY said person feels that emotion.
People seem really hung up on the fact that polygraphs aren't valid as they can be tricked, but she was still being interviewed. If you ignore the results but still listen to her answers you could gather more information. It's weird that nobody realises that.

There is something so endearing about this private investigator, I feel like I could trust him with my life. It was fun to watch his mind going while he played this game.

If that private investigator ever asked me any questions.. boy, would I have a hard time lying to him if I felt like I had to... he seems so charming and nice... I would want him to like me and not betray "his trust" (which is to say, how much does a person, especially a private investigator, trust a stranger / witness / possible suspect?)

Reminds me of “What happened to Monday”
My theory is Hannah & Eve are twins. The mid wife couldnt have children so she told their mom one died so she could keep one (Eve). Eve read the midwifes diary & found out that she wasnt her mom & pushed her down the steps & said it was an “accident”. She found Hannah & they decided to switch out lives. They eventually get tired of fighting & Eve leaves. Later on in life when Hannah gets pregnant by Simon, Eve gets jealous because she said she couldnt get pregnant & probably killed Simon. That or Eve got pregnant by Simon because he thought it was Hannah & Hannah got upset

I think they were sharing Simon... Eve and Hanna could have killed because simon had another affair when they went to a bar with a girl friend helen... They argued about it and killed Simon in the process because they knew that the other twin was having another affair and it was with the guy Eric and got her pregnant... Or maybe Simon was having affair with Eric snd the girl is trying to push it on Eric how he killed Simon....
That's literally the plot. That's not a theory. They were twins. One has a tattoo and the other doesn't.
Hannah and Eve are twins. The midwife, Florence, stole Eve at birth and told the mother she died. When Eve had read Florence’s diary and realized Florence was not her real mother, she pushed Florence down the stairs, even though Eve says it was an accident. After that, she ran across the street to Hannah. Hannah and Eve lived their lives together as Hannah, whilst the other one of them was in the attic. Eve was the outgoing one and was good with boys, whilst Hannah was shy. So Eve reeled in all the boys Hannah wanted, but not Simon, which made Eve jealous. Also, Eve couldn’t get pregnant to match Hannah’s pregnancy, so they weren’t the same anymore. SO, EVE KILLED SIMON AND HANNAH HELPED HER HIDE THE BODY in the basement so they could sort out their alibi.

You can like your preferred theory, but there’s no definitive proof of either side. Saying it makes zero sense without evidence isn’t a terribly good argument.
You could mention the fact that one twin stops having period and can’t conceive while the other is pregnant - I like that in support of the multiple personalities theory.
But why did Simon make two mirrors? Whose were the extra set of fingerprints? Who got the speeding ticket while Hannah was at work?
She was wearing a ring in one interview and not another so they're two different people? You do know people can just... take a ring off right? 😂😂😂😂
The song she sings is a real song called Wind and Rain by Gillian Welch & David Rawlings and it precisely talks about two sisters that felt in love with the same man but he felt in love with one over the other. Even the song talks about one sister drowning the other because of that.
The song title is a methaphor for the two sisters been so different from each other, one been the wind and the other the rain "oh the wind and rain" as in " oh the two sisters." Im not a private inverstigator and took me 5 seconds to search of the songs really existed.

look at 24:58 and see the bruise is on her left cheek but at 11:13 shes feels her right cheek
25/06/94 to 27/06/94 3 days after it looks like she had forgotten it was on her left cheek instead of the right completely making me think the "twins" or "same" person are switching throughout the interviews. Which can show they are guilty and trying to cover it up by pretending to be eachother or one of the twins is faking to be both twins so the other doesn' fk things up. At 25:15 the women is saying that if one gets hurt the other has to aswell meaning that my theory was about them is pretty much saying they have broken one of the rules and is going to be discovered
It's so cool for me that already played the game see his emotions through each part of it and see how similiar they were to mine. In the beginning you're so confident that you are investigation is going the right way and the game somehow breaks all of it. The Eve's part kind must turned his head upside down hahaha

After reading through some comments and seeing the video its pretty easy to tell Hannah and Eve apart
Eve is the confident one , i think she also performs judging by how she played the guitar, how she dresses and her manerism .
Hannah is basically calm and abit clueless about all this i think . She didnt talk that much but when she did she talked ab her normal life before the murder . She's more of a simple house wife , always having tied up hair and pretty simple clothing while Eve had more of a flare to her

This is so interesting! I watched Jesse Cox play this game and it took him forever to get to the conclusions that he is easily coming to.
It'd be cool to have this guy or another private eye play the shape-shifting detective, fmv game sort of similar dialogue based. Oh, and a classic item based point and click, the insane logic vs trained rational investigation would be interesting
