Old stone structures especially churches in the Philippines are sometimes made out of volcanic rocks and other ingenious materials. One church (its outside Manila I think forgot the name) was even layered with egg whites/yolks. They last because those things are surprisingly sturdy. @@onelifepassport And later American took over Philippines and colonize it since they won the war between American and Spanish/Filipino war. After the world war II in 1948 Philippines got free from America.
You should also see the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial where more than 10,000 graves of American soldiers who fought during WWII.
