Here in Mexico we have a beverage called "Ponche" its a hot fruity drink that has cane, guava, apple, tejocote (I think a endemic fruit here in Mexico), tamarind and some other things, it changes between regions. Is really sweet but is delicious, usually this beverage get prepared during Christmas times (and because the fruits only grow at that time of the year) because the temperature in almost every part of Mexico drops a lot, so the "Ponche" helps us to warm up. COME TO MEXICO AND GIVE IT A TRY!
Here in america, the only hot juice only I know is apple cider. You can use fresh apple juice, regular apple juice or powder form apple cider. but same thing, put the apple juice in the pot and boil it (you can add the water but it will lose it's flavor is you add it too much). This drink is made for the winter times especially during the fall too but its the only hot juice I know.
Eh- I'm unsure about that. The only hot fruit anything is the normal pie stuff. But from what i know, being in the south and all. Hot drinks aren't much unless its your basic tea/coffee/coco whatever
It must be a Scandinavian thing; we have fruit soup in Sweden. Nypon (rose hip), blueberry, mixed fruit. Nyponsoppa is my favorite; it's wonderful with ice cream in the Summer and rusks in Winter. Yum!
just a regular norwegian guy here. Never actually heard of "fruktsuppe" or fruitsoup myself! anyways awesome to see you taste test norwegian MRE. thumbs up for norwegians! :D
A lot of the Russian and Norwegian cuisine use similar ingredients, so watching Russian cooking channels is always interesting because it's a different way of making the same stuff, so it's similar and dissimilar at the same time.
Hey Taras! In Hungary we have both fruit soup and kompót! They are two different things! We eat fruit soup cold usually in the summer. It is made from cherries, sour cherries, apple and plum.
The former is the British take on a Tamil meat and lentil stew or soup (can be made as thick or thin as you like) that was blended with elements of Afghan/Pakistani haleem and adjusted according to local ingredients back in the Victorian Age and took off from there. Kompot is Russian-style cider made from any sort of fruit that can be served hot or cold, depending on the season and weather. "Fruit soup" usually refers to a hot cider with bits of the fruit still in it for a dessert beverage. Food and drink's awesome. :)
mediterranean is greek there is a warm fruit spread you cook where you pretty much liquefy the fruits called compote. maybe it's like that. only other thing i can think of is cider

Where I'm from we call warm fruit drinks cider because compote is made with chunks of fresh or dried fruit soaked in hot water very chunky nice over ice cream. A dessert.
Muligatawney is pronounced "mulli-ger-tor-ni". It's a kind of curried soup dish that originates from the days of the Raj, when the British ruled India.
