I just ordered my first pair of docs today! I got the Jadons in black and hopefully I'll be able to break them in enough so I can wear them to school in the winter. I usually don't walk that much in school so I think I'll be fine if I try. I can't wait until they arrive!
I bought the same style shoe but in the burgandy. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to wear it with too many outfits, but I also wanted to have something not black. But I feel like if I match the colour tone with my outfit, they look great. But if I wear a cool toned pink…maybe not so much. But I loved getting something other than black to get out of my comfort zone. It just adds to the outfit
I bought my first pair (Black Smooth Leather 1460 Bex) a few months and after three (very painful) wears they are easily my go-to pair of footwear. I’ve found white and light olive pants have allowed me to still wear these during the summer without looking too overheated.
When I tried in store, they fit so comfortably but when I got home they felt stiffer and hurt the top of my foot 😔 I wonder if the boots I tried on were testers and had been broken in by how many ppl try them on lol. I’m trying to break them in because they looks so great!
My heels/ankle area bleeds bunless i wear them with a jelly heel protector, which makes them very tight and hurts my big toes! These are the hardest shoes/boots I’ve ever had to break in! Don’t recommend wearing them if you’re gonna be taking long walks or standing for extended periods of time! Good luck and Godspeed to anyone who just got there’s not too long ago
I have the Jadon vegan version. They're better to break in than leather ones. I wear a size 14 so in my size they look more like a combat boot than a platform shoe but I still get the 6cm height increase so that's nice.
Breakin Docs In is extremely easy Need 2 things liquid Mink Oil and a small heat to warm the leather thats it. Just warm the leather of the boot for about 5 mins till it nice and warm then apply the mink oil all over the boot both inside and out besure not get on the insole one done heat the boot once more push the oil into the leather when start wearing them they break insanely Fast no blisters. Been using Mink Oil on my Doc's since the 80s
I had the vegan jadon max after the pain of breaking in I had a slight hole in the toe like yours and I sent them back under warranty . Kinda regret it now as they felt amazing once breaking in . Found this vid as I’ve ordered the vegan cherry red jadon . I’ll look forward to breaking in again! I read that the vegan ones don’t need breaking in but based on the pain I had with the jadon max I’d disagree
My feet are ruined after these. They’re so pretty but everytime I wear them whether it’s for five mins or all day there’s pain. I put them on this morning and straight away they’re rubbing the top of my feet which is definitely a new area! Im on my way to work so there’s no going back now 🙃
Get a hairdryer, get a mallet. Heat the areas that hurt, beat the areas with the mallet while they are still hot. Heat the areas again, put your foot in with a thick sock, bend and flex the shoes with your feet in them back and forth many times while the leather (or faux leather, it works on them too) is still hot/warm. Flex the shoes while they are warm. It will work.
Does it just look more red on the website then in person? I love how they do almost look black on her video but the website makes them look more red, just want to make sure they do come looking darker
I really like the look of the jadons but I'm worried about the platform. are they okay to walk in everyday? I start school in less than two weeks and I want a pair i can walk in easily. the school days are around 6-7 hours. (basically I'm wondering if the jadons are harder to walk in than the ones without platforms)
honestly the platform isnt that high, it feels a little odd when first stepping in them. but they are very comfortable and you just have to walk properly and not shove your feet lol i do reccomend the leather since sweaty feet in shoes is a good combination for feet fungus
1460s are 10x more comfortable. Have had three doc martens and these are much harder to break in than all the other ones. The pain is not worth it, I wouldn't have gotten them had I known how uncomfortable they would be.
I'm a size 8 in shoes, 7.5 in Adidas since they run big, since Docs don't come in half sizes (ugh) I went with the 8 in the Jadon hi. I don't have crazy huge calves, muscular but I'm also slim, I'm not sure if that's why but I find I have a lot of heel slippage and there feels like there is way too much space inside the shoe around the whole foot (above it). The size 7 felt way too small and I've made the mistake of getting sneakers a half a size too small and it crammed my toes over time which created issues. Is heel slippage something that will go away with time? I've worn them a few times full days but I guess it's not considered broken in yet? I also wonder if it's cuz it's higher and thus it's kind of stuck around the calves and doesn't move up or down the leg so the foot just kind of wobbles in there. Any suggestions to fix this? Shoe insole?

I don’t like going sockless, but sometimes wear my 2 years dms with thin ankle socks. Especially after putting wonder balsam recently on them I have no problem at all. It really helps softening them. After a year not wearing my dms because of lockdowns they hurt again, eventhough they where broken in: put some wonder balsam and immediately as comfortable as before my dm-lockdown-break!
Makes sense actually. I don’t do that, but I have tried it before just cause I was curious about the fit of my jadons. Tried them with thick socks, thin socks & no socks and I noticed the thin socks or no socks helps more with comfort on the heel. I feel like with really thick socks, I can feel where my heal might create blisters when walking.
Sorry, but I disagree with the "thick socks" idea. This doesn't work unless you are planning to wear thick socks with them all the time. The thicker the sock, the tighter they will be, and the more uncomfortable they are.....just sayin"
Tbh, Dr Marten jadons are the worst, even when they are broken in. The platform makes them crazy heavy and the whole point of Dr Martens was that they were supposed to last - no one will want to wear platform shoes in a few years, it's a fad.

Are these called the Cherry Red Arcadia color?
I have the the Jadon black patent leather. I love them you can dress they up or down. There was no break in period for the pair I have.

I love and live in my Jadon's! Definitely a staple. Loving your bangs, btw! You reminded me of Agnes from Despicable Me in today's video! So cute!
Great video, informative, very visual and useful 🤩
