  • Working at the intersection of event and art, Mark Bradford explores social and political structures through large-scale abstract paintings created out of layered paper. Bradford’s reimagining of modernist art explores how historical analysis and research affect form. Discover how his map-like, multilayered paper collages provide an opportunity to think about power, representation, and marginalized communities.

Its very beautifull, strong paintings and interesting dialoque. And it inspires me also to reflect and to wonder about human experience and expression - to wonder about art and human experience. For me art when it great to express i different ways the multi dimensions of experience of significance.
the differences of what is in focus for the artist, for the observer and for the art community - to me its all the dimensions of experiences of significance that somehow create our life and our realities and experiences. In a way human experience is a kind of mixed media made of the, physical, emotional, social , cultural, cosmic , the layers of the unknown, limitless, of beauty, hope, love ...and of cause all the horror, fear, aggression, anger and injustice.

And I love the focus looking to find doors I have not discovered yet, looking for the smaller things ... the unknown, the invisible yet important stories. 💛🧡❤️💜💙🖤

'Yeah, my work deals with 'ommage, appropriation, and of course the experience of blackness in American society.'

America is a melting pot it is a democracy..... so that means ..... go forth and give but also teach the importance of the giving.

Some of his work is evocative but I find him generally overrated.

Hard disagree, I feel like people don’t bother to look past style or more basic readings of “identity” to see the poetry he adds to the sociopolitical. Let alone to his ability to bridge macro data with the interpersonal emotion to craft a deeply felt “figure” /narrative in the minds eye of his works. But hey arts subjective.
