Dude, that scoop change is fucking mint. Ive seen a lot of different scoop styles on patrols, but this one, if i build a GU im gonna be stealing the idea. Kinda glad you went body colour on the scoop and the visor, i would have done black because simplicity lol. The freespool on the winch problem sounds like it can be fixed with an air activation upgrade.
The scoop is awesome. Saw a patrol sporting one pass thru town this arvo, says to myself, so that's how one looks, just loved it. Then you top that moment this evening with your post showing your Patrol sporting one, plus you show me how to fit it, your a gracious man. I've been contemplating a Jackaroo scoop as it's like the patrol, just mounts to bonnet, no cutting involved, but i could be wrong. In my case, it's purely to make the appearance cemetrical, as I opted for a cross country top mount intercooler myself. I also like the visor, well I'm actually a grandpa, so thats why i want one. Im a tad old school, preferred the jimmy bar myself, but understand your desire for improved air flow and balancing the all round look. Thanks, truly appreciative of this post, far simpler than 4JJ1 swap, I can handle this mod.
Hi Ian! That’s great mate, glad you like the scoop! As for the visor, they are extreamly cool! Brings back the old school vibe and they block out so much sun! Hope you smash out the bonnet scoop of your choice soon! Getting one in the middle is great 🤘🤘
You can spin the runva winch sides around to suit, I had to spin one side around 90 degree to fit my arb bar, says it on the instructions that come with the winch just loosen the side bolts and the motor will spin 90 degree
I'm sure someone else will already have mentioned it, but winches are made so you can pull the end off and rotate it to suit. Have the clutch lever sticking up for easier access and more clearance.
Yep! Can do, the main issue was the spacing off the front of the bar! I have confirmed now tho that I can just cut a bit of 13mm plate steel and use that as a spacer and then rotate the clutch!
Hey mate, you can clock the free spool so it misses the intercooler etc. We did that for our bar and so we didn't have to open the bonnet to access it. Fairly simple (just make sure the spindle goes back in correctly into the cog)
Very nice work. It looks really good. Way cleaner and way nicer looking for the Rig. Can’t wait to see more updates an projects and many more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.
Cool episode, as I always say it's your car do what you want. I'm very old school with these things I love the visor (didn't think I would), but the twin snorkels clash with it. The scoop is sick. I would be happy with either bar. Hope you get a good 2nd hand price for the winch.
I personally love the snorkel...but I'm just getting 1 for the passengers side and in chrome....still searching for the perfect bar that has loops but allows the radar lights and winch space.
Great job, well done, looks excellent, the only thing, I've had 4 cars with windscreen sun visors and all of them have been painted either white or cream not black, what that means I don't know but the white may be to reflect the sun off the windscreen, but again I don't know for sure. Great job again. Seeya Rob
Awesome video! I absolutely love it. I know the scoops on and done now but do you think maybe taking out the center line in the center of the scoop opening would help with the look a little? Might make it look a little bit more open? I do understand it's probably 100% for strength
Just watch out that Millweld GU bars do not meet ADR's for airbag compliance. Your insurance may take this into consideration, as it's all over the Millweld website too.
Hey mate, gu looks thr goods. Thought you and other people might be interested that the underside of the old man visors are actually green for a reason, its to stop the glare/reflection off the bonnet and the windscreen, how much of a difference it makes 🤷🏼 but just so people know.
Would rotating the gearbox on the winch help it space back? It’s an easy job just did mine on the same winch. I do all the 8 or so Allen key bolts and rotate it to desired angle
Bullbar looks great until there’s that massive ugly gap between the bar and grill showing the radiator definitely gives you that air circulation you wanted 😂 otherwise the hood and the sun visor look fucking mint
Yeah the bar is designed to have a winch in that gap so it looks more normal then! It should look better when I sort a winch, maybe even a high mount haha
Hot tip bro check your ryobi battery’s if they are 2020 or 2021 and arnt lasting as long just go back to Bunnings with your licence tell them they go flat quick and they will replace them with new ones on the spot
If anyone is chasing a sunvisor but cant be bothered waiting the massive wait ssome 70 series land cruiser ones fit, and are half the price offroad clinc sell them for.
Please can you please explain to me why you cut a hole in the bonnet when you only needed to bolt the scoop down? I ask because you’re running a front mount intercooler so cutting the hole in the bonnet wasnt required (as i see it)
The scoop actually sits down in a hole, it won’t sit flat on the bonnet, it’s sorta hard to explain! But it definitely requires a hole like the one I cut!
@@RoamLyfe ahh okay makes sense then i was just thinking wtf 😂 cars looks fkn amazing now i love it that scoop looks killer ill definitely be ordering one for my series 4 gu soon im in love

How good is a 4j scoop 🙌🙌
And the air freespool is a great idea! Thanks!
The painting mask looks a bit dirty you can buy the 3M P2 filters to replace or buy new 3M mask @@RoamLyfe

I can not believe how well that scoop went in. Even had a perfect inside line to match the factory shape. Almost like it was made for this. Good job

Great episode as always, how much do you want for the winch?
i was gonna order a millweld bar but there always out of stock
looks mint. I reckon next thing is black out the grill or change the colour. but sick work
Blackout the grille with a nice matte black or dark grey finish
Nah. Suits the snorkels.
@1993Revhead make that black too.
Do ya recommend any cars for a budget car that I could get for myself? I’m an appretince so on a budget
I dig the new bar!
Me too! Cheers mate!

Yeah rotate the gearbox and the freespool to desired point and bolt back up.
I had to do this on my GU 👍
That’s definitely an option I’m jsut unsure of the spacer situation for the motor to clear the bar on that cut out circle part! I had to space it 15mm
@@RoamLyfe Is a tricky one. Any chance you could shed some light on how you did the steering wheel controls on the Polaris ?
Have you sold the Jimmy Built Bar yet? Would be interested in buying it.
@roamlyfe good day mate, what code was that gold paint you got? Any tips if you could name where to get it from would be tops 👍 cheers
Love the visor. Is it to stop mobile phone camera fines?
Haha that would be nice! But no it’s for the sun, it’s suprising how much arvo and morning sun it blocks out hey! 🤘
Did you have to chop your chassis? I’ve heard you have to for the millweld bars
On the s4 I don’t believe you have to! I didn’t anyway 😆
Wish the s3’s where like that haha
Looks awesome.thanks for the idea's.

hey bro looks good! what model car is that off? i looked at dmax scoops and they seem to be moulded into the bonnet ones im looking at?
Looks way better now but just think it needs side bars
Taking it up to cape York ?
Did you have to trim chassis to fit that bar?
where did you get the sun visor from looking for one for my gq patrol
Great episode. The new bull bar is waaaay better looking. Live the retro vidor too.
Nice looking top mount intercooler scoop for your front mount intercooler
Looks the goods now mate
Thanks Matty!!
How much did it cost to ship the mil weld bar ???

Thanks legend!
Looks sick mate. What spray gun are you using?
when is the roof rack coming?
hey mate your supposed to leave the visor green underneath to absorb light, but if works without it for you great
Oh true! There’s no way green is staying on my car 😂😂
Have used it for a week now and works fine!
How much for the jimmy built bar?

I’ll make it fit soon! Just didn’t have time 🤘🤘
I was gonna say colour code ya bullbar, then i seen ya rear bars black anyways. Bloody rig! 🤙🤙

It wasn’t a muzz! The new bar is just more user friendly and suits the rest of the barwork! 🤘
New one looks terrible
That bull at looks sexy as, the other mods bring it all together!
Thanks mate, stoked with the bar!
Why not just put a new motor on the winch? 2 bolts, and it's done. Get a redwinch motor or a bullet from RRO. It's just the length of the motor.
Mint
Put some scrub bars on it
Should I?? I am not sure 😆
Yeah for sure you tube bullbar tube rear bar so put some scrubbies on it
