    Dear sir thanks for this video it is very informative and clear my concepts related to control charts.
    Sir I have a question, I m using variable charts and often ask by auditors about how you perform trend analysis by using your control and on what reference you have made these limits 2sigma and 3sigma and what would be the acceptance criteria of for data.

    • @ShakehandwithLife
      @ShakehandwithLife  4 года назад

      Trend can be studied using the uphill or downfall of the curve for a specific time period, 2 sigma limit is mean +/- 2 standard deviation

    THANKS FOR THE MAKING IT EASY
    WELL EXPLAINED SIR BUT EVERY TIME " LCL" SHOULDN'T TAKE ZERO IF CALCULATIONS FOR LOWER CONTROL LIMT BEING NAGATIVE THEN WE CAN TAKE IT AS ZERO.

    • @ShakehandwithLife
      @ShakehandwithLife  3 года назад

      Valid point and thanks for sharing your valuable input. We can take it 'zero' in case of range and in case of attribute data. But if you want to showcase it on the chart then you can.

    • @mallinathanputhukkudi
      @mallinathanputhukkudi 4 года назад

      Since you are inspecting multiple parameters one time there can be one or more defect into it, So you may consider it as a defective unit there by permitting the use of NP chart if the sample size is constant and P chart if the sample size is variable.

    Well explained sir bt every time LCL shouldn't take zero if calculation for lower control limit being negative then we can take it as zero

    • @ShakehandwithLife
      @ShakehandwithLife  4 года назад

      For range chart, the minimum difference is zero LCL zero in that case shows this logic... Practically it is not possible but for precision it is a target🎯 to achieve

      It's not right, it should be called as 3sigma only...as it gives 99.73% control ... whereas talking of 6sigma, it gives 99.9996% control

    • @mallinathanputhukkudi
      @mallinathanputhukkudi 4 года назад +1

      I think when you compare about 3 sigma and 6 sigma quality levels you are not using the same standard parameter for comparison. when When we consider 99.73% short term control with 3 sigma, it is without any mean shift and in the same way 6 sigma should control 99.9999998%(short term control) and not 99.9996%(long term control) as you mentioned. The log term control for 3 sigma is 93.32 %. when we talk about 99.9996% control with 6sigma, a mean shift of 1.5sigma is permitted. So 99.9996% actually corresponds to 4.5 sigma value.
      Now coming to the 6 sigma control width mentioned , it is the distance from +3sigma to -3sigma from the mean which is equal to 6 sigma and in the same way ,the the control width is 12 sigma in the case of+/- 6sigma control . when we talk about 6 sigma quality control we always mean long term control which considers a mean shift of 1.5 sigma and 3 sigma quality control which is equivalent to 99.73% is with out any mean shift. When SPC was initially introduced in the early 1920,s achievement of 3 sigma level (99.73%) quality was considered very good. No mean shift was considered in those days and sigma was considered as +/- 1/3 of achievable tolerance.

    • @ShakehandwithLife

      After calculation of sample mean values of all samples, we now consider the sample mean values as individual population.

    How we calculate % between 6 sigma

    • @ShakehandwithLife
      @ShakehandwithLife  3 года назад

      It is according to chebyshev's theoram states that 1-1/K^2 of the observations will lie within k standard deviation or sigma of the mean.
      For bell shaped or normal distribution, we have 68% of the observations with in 1 std. dev. of mean
      95% between 2 std. dev. of mean
      And approximately all between 3 std. dev. of nean
