Fast forward to 2022... What are your current views on the current take of SAP to cut support on legacy Products?? Is it going to happen or does SAP has to back off like the Oracle for the JD Edwards customer?? Any Views Eric??

I started signaling this during the Suite on HANA days. I became the black sheep of my organization. Just because I noted that, hey folks, what SAP is asking/demanding their customers to do is NOT a guarantee that they will do it. I’m currently between employers because of my honesty about it. Glad to see my thoughts were confirmed even though it cost me my job. Kudos to 3rd stage.

I’m reading this in 2023. I’m about to buy SAP B1 and I can’t find any information regarding this mandatory migration. Is this going as planned before or did SAP changed its stance?

Eduardo - SAP has let previous deadlines slip and this video is slightly confusing. I think the deadline from SAP is an attempt to move their customer bases to HANA and this is independent of B1.
I have found the SAP stance perplexing. We use SAP B1 and my current mindset is to stick with it. The roadmap for the product is not very specific (I have been unable to find published release dates) so I remain anxious. I think the SAP strategy is to move their customers to cloud deployments and I am comforted knowing that B1 is available on Azure and AWS. Further, SAP continues to invest in the B1 web interface.

@@FredHendrix thanks for your answer. I asked directly to SAP and finally got the answer: they are pushing everyone into the cloud based HANA database, the current B1 is based on HANA so I should be ok for a few more years (I hope at least 7 to 10 years before I have to replace the ERP).

    Couldn't agree more!
Especially with the implementation readiness issue.
Which tools would you recommend to support the creation of the business blueprints?

Enterprises using those DVD's can either continue to test their own financial strengths or throw those DVD's into trash bins as early as possible. Those enterprises in the middle of implementing those DVD's can still be much smarter than

if they are able to enable their stop-loss mechanisms and quit their projects before they are too late.
Nan Shan Life Insurance Company's chairman, who used to work for Goldman Sachs, stepped down last week as a result of his decision of purchasing HANA DVD's and signing contract with SAP as its sole implementation team causing the victim company he worked for in chaos and loss.
