Honestly ancient leshen is walking proof of how much harder every fight would be if small monsters actually posed a threat beyond maybe getting a lucky paralyze.

In 4U, I think they were dialed back a bit for the most part (Konchu, I'm looking at you) but in World, they're almost useless, other than a couple parts for armor of their larger counterparts.

Basically they can step on you or hit you while they literally move. No attacks, just movements. These hits damage you and trip you. Old MH pulled no punches and everything hurt
Oh man, let.me tell you about the older MH games. If you didn't have a Konchu rolling you over and setting you up to eat a monster's attack it was a bullfango charging at you and stopping YOU from landing a big attack. The old games were infamous for small monsters fucking you over lol

Nothing one shot except the bird nova. And the grab if you were caught without rocksteady or some sort of felyne defender/divine blessing. However, everything still dealt a shit ton of damage lol. Even the little jagras

This fight was proof that no one who plays semi casually understands how good vitality skill is, you could have just enough health to survive most big stuff except nova and being hentai grabbed (of course health booster tool really helps with the latter)
@Vandole This is mega easy now. Nothing one shots. Divine blessing secret exists. Even back in HR he wasn't that bad solo if you were using LBG/LS/GS/Hammer. Mainly because of the 50 min timer being so lenient. If he had 30 mins like Extreme he would've been much harder. Its still the 2nd hardest HR monster but nothing comes close to Extremoth.

I thought that I would never defeat Ancient Leshen,even with master rank equipment,but one day a random was doing the mission and I said "well,let's prove" only the two of us fighting ancient Leshen,and with just one remaining life we killed it,he was the only monster that I never killed,so if that random reads this thanks a lot 👌

You know... when i saw your videos i was interested and got hooked on all the memes you added in them. at first when i saw you were maining longswords; my expectations were lowered a bit due to previous personal experiences... (hammer main traumatized by the majority of longsword users with low teamwork capabilities flailing around monster's head to the point where every hammer build i have now requires Brace 2 in it.) however, your skill with it definitely shows that you know what you are doing, and i could only hope more LS mains mature to that level of expertise aswell. 10/10, would gladly hunt alongside if given the opportunity.

I feel like Capcom didn't quite realize that Leshen is only scary in Witcher because that world is semi-realistic. In a world where continent busting dragons can be killed with bone daggers, the Leshen is just a cool looking punching bag.

Well Behemoth and Leshen are the only crossover Monsters in the franchise. Sure rathalos goes into other games and we have armour. But no monsters.
Not really, Behemoth and Leshen were tuned for multiplayer so soloing them is a slog even if you have the skills to do the entire fight perfectly.
They should have done a from soft one. Either midir or the cleric beast (Ludwig would be too creepy for this games tone)

Don’t worry the long sword is literally the easiest to use. Right next to the dual blades.
If you need any help with weapons I can give some pointers, LS is easy, rewarding and has a good skill cap that isn't too intimidating.
