CEFR is successful when English learners are living in the USA. But living in no-native English speaking countries, we can't. No-native speakers need 4 hours per day in 4 years = 4*365*4 = 5840 hours

I just wanna share my experience with you guys.
I've been learning English by myself since March 2020. By the time I started studying on my own, I'd known the basics and I had a good vocabulary for my former level. Since then I've been trying to expose myself as much as I can to English and my improvement is clear! I'm way more confident when it comes to speaking, I can understand almost everything everyday people say (sometimes they speak too fast and a loose a few sentences). Some people who I talked to said that I'm advanced and it fullfiled me with pride, because my commitment had paid off. Keep it up, guys! Everyone can learn a new language! Thanks for this amazing channel!
I wish you the very best! (from Brazil)

Actually in the beginning I spent around 2 hours skimming through videos on internet about grammar and vocabulary. I used to watch many videos, but I don't think it was effective. I was "learning" many words per day/week but I have sooner forgotten a bunch of them or just kept them on my passive vocabulary, so I was able to understand the words when I saw them, but I just don't remember to use. After 2-3 months doing that I realised that I wasn't really progressing and I came to the conclusion that I work better learning by hearing some content and paying attention and using the new word/expression right after. I've written down some things in the beginning, but now I just take some notes in a app on my phone.
To keep it short, I just have to say that you have to enjoy the content that you're using and diversify yours sources when you get bored. Now I speak for 3-4 hours a week (with people who are learning English and want to practice) and I listening to English everyday about whatever I feel like at the moment.

Your advices are pure gold, straight outta Eldorado :) I have plenty of time and I WILL use it efficiently !
I genuinely love this language and it's a part of my everyday life.
But i have to admit that most of my knowledge about English comes from passive forms of learning. I tried to stick to grammar lessons and verbs learning, but i always forget the fundamentals after a few months 😅
The biggest flaws with my english are :
-Having a hard time using the right words so the structure of my sentences is awkward. Despite knowing those words and understanding them when heard, they don't come to my mind naturally.
    -Lack of self confidence.
    -Overthinking.
-Not having anyone to talk with in english, and i actually mean TALK, not write.
Now let's head back to the basics, i guess. Have a nice day !
