    Your videos have been very helpful.
    I broke clavicle in two complete breaks Sept 23 last year.
    Surgery was postponed because of severe cellulitis in my right leg.Could not walk.
    Hospital 30 days.
    Than in Nov the metal plate was put in.
    It aggravated shoulder and arm so much added on pain
    Plate coming out at 6 month mark
    Than a MRI to see possible other issues.
    I am almost 76.
    Worse thing I have ever endured.
    At times I seen no end to the ordeal
    Thank ypu again for your positive vibes.

    Hi Pippa, hope you had a good Christmas. I keep watching your video to see how i'm progressing and using your recovery as my guideline, almost 4 months out after the surgery but still feeling very stiff and uncomfortable, still doing physical therapy 2x a week and it helps quite a lot i would say. i can't wait to get this metal works out as well as you mentioned in this video here, i understand how it feels now. Anyway.. i just want to say how i appreciate that you post this video for us and people out there who suffers from same injury. I hope you and family have a healthy 2023!!

    I fractured my collarbone while riding bike in Leh ladakh India and it was horrible. However i chose to complete the trip with broken collarbone in Leh for 7 days without treatment wearing a sling bag .It was broken in 3 pieces and we tried to heal it naturally but unfortunately it went into non union. After around 3 months i decided to go for surgery. I got my fracture on Aug 21 2021 , I did my surgery on Nov 19 and i am still recovering . It has been horrible horrible for me all these days and I have gained so much weight . The pain of not being able to do your favorite activities and play sports is really hard but yet need to stay positive. Please post the physiotherapy exercises which can help recover faster . Even after 3 months of surgery I can only raise 100 degrees in the front and 50 degrees in the side and my posture is not corrected yet :( hoping for support and tips \m/

      @pippaw4779  2 года назад

      Oh bless you that’s so horrible for you. I really hope you will recover soon. There are numerous physio exercises you can do at different stages of recovery- it would be too difficult to go through them all on here, can you seek expert advice at all? It also depends on how far into your recovery you are. Wishing you love and recovery.

    Hi Pippa, don’t know if you still look at these and answer questions... we’ve been following your journey as my 23 year old daughter also smashed her clavicle. She’s 6 weeks post op and feeling very low (as you were)
    We’ve just been told she can now ditch the sling but she has had no physio yet and has massive muscle wastage.. any tips on exercises please? She’s had the normal elbow bending and pendulum but that about it 🤷🏻‍♀️...
    many thanks for reading this 👍

    • @pippaw4779
      @pippaw4779  3 года назад +1

      Hi there, oh your poor poor daughter, it’s so awful!! Yes I was given weekly physio for several weeks with progressive exercises- I would ask for a referral - mine took about 20 mins twice daily, many different exercise like pushing against a wall with arms, I used resistance bands too to help, pendulum, pushing and pulling against someone else with hand, I made a whole list at the time. The muscle wasting will get better once she starts using her arm normally again, tell her not to worry as it comes back fast. I saw a trauma physio so was lucky. She was brilliant! I cried doing some of the exercises tho!! Keep in touch , Pippa

      Hi again, thank you so much for taking the time to reply and for your help.
      That’s all really useful information and well certainly give it a go.
      Unfortunately she’s only just been referred for physio and she starts a new job in 10 days!😱 so I’m sure we’re going to have some work and tears along the way. She’s been in the sling 2 weeks pre and 6 weeks post op, so as you can imagine there’s an awful lot of muscle wastage.
      I hope you’re back to normal now and doing well? I see you’ve had your plate removed, but my daughters surgeon is reluctant to do that as he said that because she has 10 screws in place, it would leave her very venerable it they were to be removed. She really doesn’t want to think about another procedure at this stage anyway, bless her. I’m just worried she’s thinking of getting back on her horse 🥴

    • @pippaw4779
      @pippaw4779  3 года назад

      See how she goes, I promise the muscle will come back as she uses her arm and shoulder more. I had the metal removed 18 months later as it was not comfy. Plenty of time to decide ! One of the exercises was the ‘dust’ the table reaching arm out little by little and ‘dust up the wall’ with arm - gradually go higher as movement and pain allows
