24 -7 race, clean car, repeat. Really shows what it's like to be a racer and the importance of having a crew to help on the car.
A good crew is needed, definitely can not do it alone.
A clean car is a FAST car.
One necessary aspect of keeping the car clean is being able to spot cracks in the suspension parts, leaks in the brake components, etc. Mud hides a lot of potential problems

The glamorous side of racing no one sees. We only do it 20 times a year but the process is still the same. And they only look good once!
Dirt track racing is all about circles and cycles. Whether on the track or off. Just keep going round and round.

The thing that hooked me on Mandy's videos was when Billy Sr.'s car held up with a back hoe while someone washed the bottom. That was 4 or 5. years ago

using waterless car wash you could have wiped off all of that dry dirt with a dry rag with out scratching the paint . just a time saver. and only needed to pressure was what you couldn't reach.

I totally understand how Mike feels about keeping the car looking good. I only run 4 cyl cars at Grandview and always touch up my car between races. I hear all the time from my teammates, good looking cars don't help win races. That's true, but I sure do get a lot of pictures taken by the photographers for my sponsors!
Having a clean and well maintained car is good for driver moral as well!
@@dirttrackuntold Absolutely! It's something that can't be measured. If a driver feels good about his car, team morale is always better as well.
Does a clean car equate to a fast car...probably? But if cleanliness makes the driver happy then that's what matters.
Plus I imagine George likes his Adirondack Auto/Huttig Nissan/NAPA sections to shine!!
