As a retired teacher (elementary , 2nd and 3rd grade for 35 years) I know Miss Friend will treasure that cross stitch! I have many cherished items from children that I display proudly. It is wonderful your son loved her! I remember how it broke my heart when kids would cry the last days of school because they would miss me (and I think I missed them much more!) and we'd have the "each year you move on, " etc. talk. I am blessed that many former students are now friends and we go out to lunch! LOVE the sled...Yes, to the red trim. The perfect bow and bell or whatever will come to you as you think about it! And Strawberry Fields...gorgeous! Hope things ease for you all soon...you have certainly been confined for a long time!
We are so grateful for caring people like your sister. Hope things get better soon. I would like the red trim around the edge with the bells on top. Beautiful finishing!
Happy to find a "floss tuber" from Ontario, I'm in North Bay. Also appreciate you mentioning he Canadian shops to check out. Unfortunately not many needlework places around here. Love your Christmas sleigh.
God Bless your Sister for all that she's doing at this time! 🙏 I vote yes, to add that cute trim around the edge of your Christmas Sled piece and yes to adding a bow or Christmas greenery on the top! It turned out great! 🎄⛄🎅
Your Home For Christmas finish is so beautiful. I vote for adding that trim around the matte, and would add a thin jute rope for the handles, and perhaps a thin wispy jute bow with a small amount of greenery and a couple of small rusty bells to decorate the top. I wouldn’t add anything too fussy or big as less is more and it’s such a beautiful piece. The teacher gift you made is just precious. I love all your wips and your stitching is amazing. Thank you for another great video. Sending love and light to your RT sister. Stay well!
Yes! Put the cording around the red fabric, a small piece of greenery, bow(?)and bells would be super cute! Something the stays within the handle size!
Remember, starting late is not an issue, but NOT starting is. I listened to your podcast and it resonated with me, despite my being in my 70s, thank you for sharing. Have a lovely stitching time, in the midst of our lockdowns. In Quebec, a curfew is in effect since February I want to say... feels like eons now, and that weighs on me more so than the lockdowns. Thank goodness for our stitching, and for flosstubers such as you enabling us in all kind of fun 🤩 Cheers for now from Montreal, stay well 🤗 and safe 😷
I am so happy I am catching up on your videos! You are so enjoyable to watch and you just crack me up! Love all your WIP’s, haul and all the comedy! Just so much fun! Happy Stitching and Sewing too!
So sweet of you to give your non-stitchy sister a shout out. How wonderful that she jumped in to help out during this horrible pandemic. Sad to hear how bad it is in Canada right now. Yes, I would add the trim around your adorable sleigh finish. It really adds to it. Have you watched Javagirlstitches on flosstube? She has wonderful finishing ideas. She is on Instagram also. Christi may inspire you on your finishing!
Yes on the bakers twine trim! ❤️Maybe even a piece of it or something slim around the top piece too. Trims hide all the imperfections!! ❤️ I love the whole sled design with that charming sampler! I would probably add a bow of some sort to the top to break up the white a little bit. I’m so sorry Ontario/Canada continues with this awful plague of covid. 😥
Love the Home for Christmas, it looks amazing! I would add the red trim, it really makes it pop. Also, I want that cassette bag, how cute! Also, so much love to Karen and all the RTs!!
Your home for Christmas finish looks great 😀all your wips look good! Great haul, love the reindeer gathering and alphabet, that Christmas cats bag is gorgeous 😍what lovely stitchy kindness x
Your sleigh is gorgeous, and your finishes are really nice. I love your projects… Especially the apple tree Sampler. I laughed out loud when your husband asked why you keep getting stuff. You have to explain to him about the stitch fairy.
All medical professionals around the globe, including your sweet sister, are absolute HEROS!!! The stories from folks at the front line of this pandemic are heart wrenching. So grateful for the sacrifices and insane work load these healthcare workers are dealing with! 🙏♥️💪👏♥️💪🙏♥️💪
Great visit!! Yes, love the sled with the trim it just made it pop !! I also have the Apple pattern you showed , just fell in love with it ! Thanks, Kim In ☀️
I love your sleigh finish, you are so funny when you talked about sticky board I laughed so much because I’ve got sticky board and I’m scared of it 😂😂 I’m great at stitching but when it comes to finishing I’m like yep I’ll do it later !!! Absolutely love you you always make me smile. Good luck with home schooling xxx
Hi there great show today. Good for your sister great for her. It does need the thing around the sleigh and a bow at the top. And two hours for making it that’s not bad takes a lot more to do them up than it does to make them.
I think the trim would look great on the sled project!! I am also just giving you a hug for your on line learning with your kids. I know how hard it is to try to do everything!! Teacher, mother, wife, friend. So overwhelming sometimes. Hang in there girl!! Love that you got some gifts to cheer you up!!! Take care. 😃
You have the most adorable projects i super enjoy coming back each time. And I just found Outlander this year and I’m totally HOOKED!!! yes!! ❤️ happy stitching
God bless your sister! Your teacher piece is adorable. I love the braid around the Christmas piece. It would be good as a hanger too. I would put some kind of Christmas greenery on the top.
Absolutely add the trim around the Christmas piece. I agree the top needs something. You could do one of the rows of candy or holly and add it to the top rail- it might be cute if you use the baker’s twine as a hanger.
Hugs to your sister! RTs work so hard in normal times, I can't even imagine how it is now. My daughter was a sub teacher for K, Grade 1 and Grade 2 before the pandemic. I love the piece you did for your son's teacher. My daughter's name at school is Miss Friend also. She loves teaching the little kids. Stitch on!
The cording looks nice around the Xmas sampler. Your Sberry Hill looks great! nice color swap with the greys. Actually all your projects are lookin' good!
Million Stitches is amazing. The dmc is the best price around. I've ordered alot from them. The fabrics are amazing. I may have partaken in the same sale, and bought the same fabric with the clouds. 😀
Your sled finish is darling. I think the red fabric you used is perfect. The stitching remains the star. I like the rope around the project. Definitely check out a Vonna tutorial. You make videos that are so fun to watch. Keep it up. Best, K
As a new stitcher i so appreciate your sons 12 stitches...lolo...Kathleen we been watching the news, and i have been thinking how you all are doing, we live in a border city Saskatchewan Alberta, our hospitals are also overwhelmed in both provinces. Also Elizabeth is amazing, i watch her channel as well. The two of you are so positive and uplifting..please give your sister a huge hug for all that she is doing during these times. You and your sister are rock stars! I understand the home schooling stress..did that for a year when my youngest was in 6th grade and it was horrible! She’s now been doing online schooling since COVID started but she’s a sophomore in high school and pretty much does her own thing, thank goodness! Lol. And ty, I now have “stitching the night away 🎶 🎵 “ stuck in my head. 😂 Love ya, my friend. 💜
I think a put the trim around the red. I think you can use craft glue or hot glue. I would totally put ribbon through those holes and tie a bow and hang it with it. It’s super cute! I love your cassette tape bag. Wow on the outlander connection!
The sleigh turned out awesome!! I love the added cording idea. I’m ellesnaps and I almost fell off the couch when you talked about Sam Heughan being in her CrossFit class!! 😳😍❤️ Love my CrossFit class... but our awesomeness would dial up to a 12 or 13 if he came to class! 😂 (on a serious note, I’ve lost over 119# by working out and changing my eating habits, it’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. Knowing what it’s done for me I’m all about encouraging others in any kind of fitness, I don’t care what it is, yoga, biking, running, walking, mobility, etc., I’m always going to encourage people to keep moving.) I have the Reindeer Roundup too! It’s in my short stack for this year! I've had great service from Ann at Knowledge and Needles. Happy to support it. I'd never heard of Fizz...etsy shop but will definitely check it out since it's close by. Stay safe..
Yeah you were shouting out some I’d my favourite shops 😃. I was in Knowledge and Needles last summer while camping at Presqu’ile Prov Park. It is so tiny and cute, in a shop attached to their house. Love shopping locally. Love your videos! I’m out in the “Shwa” (Oshawa) 🇨🇦
You should put your sons name on that teacher gift and the year. I like it with the red & white trim all around the edges, and i do glue my trim on.I use Aleens tacky glue in the gold bottle.Your finish is great.!! I'm also a Kathleen M,also,my M is for Minnie after my mom. I'm liking that harbor picture. I usually watch you on tv so can never comment, but today you got lucky,LOL,i'm on my computer. My lucky day is right! Happy to hear from a fellow Kathleen! I have decided to make sure I give Little Women at least 3 days in between videos so that I am always making progress on it. It is a beast of a chart but so fun to stitch and will be so beautiful when it is done.
Home for Christmas looks so good! It’s sounds like your youngest and my son are the same age. My son’s JK teacher took a half year off last year and he was heart broken, but then Covid so it didn’t really matter anyways. Luckily she is his teacher again this year for SK so he is pretty happy!
Great video! Projects are coming along great, yes you should put the trim around the edge on the Home for Christmas, if it were mine I would go around it making the two raw ends meet at the top. I do like the striped cord for sure. It is lovely as well. I think I have to do that one. I almost bought it when I first saw it but did not. That piece of white string came from Brenda in Brenda and Laura....check out their latest video...lol.
Ok What can I say? Number 25 and another awesome presentation! Your sister Emily and I watched this one together! Loved your shout out to your RT sister...you know that Christmas sled crosstitching is amazing as is Little women and all the others! Love you! Mom. (And Em)❤️❤️❤️
Love your sled finish!! I'm usually a less is more, but I really like the striped "twine" around the edges. for the top, have you thought about maybe greenery? For your Carriage House alphabet, are you going to change the W to Whale? And your sister is awesome!!
Hi. It was so nice of you to do that shout to your Sister and all our medical and health professional "heroes" on the front lines of this virus. I keep all of them in my prayers every day. Thanks too for introducing me to Million of Stitches Etsy Shop. I ordered one of the tote bags - they were all beautiful so it was a hard choice. Take and stay well.
Respiratory therapists rule! I'm a radiologic technologist so I too am in a ton of covid patients rooms a day but only for 5 minutes at a time usually.. props to your sister, I wouldn't want to be in her shoes.
do you have the peppermint striped ribbon ... the wide wired kind? that in a big bow with a glittery snowflake in the middle would be awesome on your sled
I think the trim around the red is beautiful! Zebu, I don’t know if you’ve ever watched Veggie Tales, but there is a silly song with Larry about Zebu, that’s how I know they exist...lol. Ok they use the Spanish spelling Cebu. ruclips.net/video/_uv8Ej4CEoQ/видео.html
