- It's yet another new daily word game from the New York Times! This time we've got to find a collection of thematically-related words, plus their "spangram" that describes the theme. I don't know if I'll be solving this every day but I'm giving it a shot for now at least. We'll see how it goes. Let me know how you like it!

For me, it always pays to work the corners when I'm stuck..That uses a lot of the letters so you can see what's left. Often, the spangram jumps out early, but if it doesn't, you've got the beginning of a shape once you've resolved the corners. This one seemed easy to me.
Funny how much this game is about "seeing it". I spotted Goggles immediately on opening the puzzle today then quickly found Flask and the puzzle fell pretty quickly from there. But if you get caught on the wrong pattern of letters thinking they're part of a word and can take real effort to make your brain stop snagging on them.
Once you've covered the whole left side, e.g., you know the spanagram is going to the be top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top. You spun your wheels so hard on top-to-bottom, you didn't notice bottom-to-top for a while (your "lull"). YMMV.
Morning Chris. I just needed a start and off I went to finish it.
I thought chemistry immediately and found the spangram right away. Then the words followed in seconds until I got to the last one and for some reason pipette just took me forever. Weird how the brain works.
As soon as you saw "lab" and wondered if it's "*something* lab" I thought that the spangram should start at the bottom and then saw it right away. Then I checked how much of the video is still left 😅
I spent a long time trying to start with LAB-, too.
Is it spelled BEAKRE in the UK?
No, but it's spelled that way in the uncomfortable laptop track pad land.
