Whatever else you may think of the movie at large, this here is certainly a piece of music that stands out and remains in your memory. Centrepiece evidence for the undeserved underratedness of Carter Burwell, that's for sure.
This is one of the pieces of the score which was featured on the reverse side of the double-sided DVD/CD of Book of Shadows, if you were lucky enough to acquire it wayyyyyyy back when that disc first came out. I was.
This film is almost deliberately made to make the fake fans drop off and is such a gem for real fans. There is so much secret messaging and creepy images through this entire thing as a constant message from the witch. The secret of esrever - reverse. The partial soundtrack and full score on the reverse side of the film, I have one of course. The score is really creepy and awesome. The full soundtrack really awesome as well. Such a gem to much for many to know what they were beholding.
Hecaitomix was the films real antagonist, not Elly Kedward, the Blair witch was just another victim of the woods Btw thank you for uploading this song, I love it
I find the movie rather inteligent and true to the original horror of what blair was all about. I guess it is one of those movies which people jus did not get and therefore dismiss. Sure, it has loads of teenager movie cheese in it. But lots of it is on purpose. It delivers what you love as a true blair witch fan if you give it the chance,
@@harrysanders818 Well, apparently, the director had a lot of conflicts with the studio, so he didn't quite get to make the film he intended to. However, the studio actually stood behind the memorable soundtrack, for example, the Marilyn Manson track in the opening credits. The director wouldn't have any of that! Normally I'd stand by the director, but this type of studio cash-in intervention I'm grateful for solely because it's one of my favorite movie soundtracks (much like the original score).
@@InfluenceThem the fan edit is so worth watching, it cuts out some of the worst horrendous acting bits too, and just overall makes it into a slow burning, tense, and LINEAR psychological horror about group delusion sowed and motivated by media. Specifically how people believe in a total bs urban legend because a movie that took no money or resources to make "looked real" specifically because it looked bad. Since this is categorized as a meta horror film, I believe the conversation the two authors have about whether or not perception is reality is one of the most important in the script. There is no real Blair Witch, but because the first film is popular people not only believe but they are looking for it. Does the search for that thing bring you straight to it? It's like a Blair Witch been created by enough people believing in the same thing, and because the idea was birthed to the world through the medium of found footage, it is an entity that exists within and can manipulate footage and film. The "Witch" is manipulating the footage the characters filmed and is also manipulating the film we are watching. That's why the secret of esrever message has the Witch referring to herself in the first person "Seek me no further or the children will again walk free" hidden in subliminal messages throughout the film. That way when you get to the ending and see the footage again in the police station showing the protagonists incriminating themselves for things we never saw them do, it's not only very effective but it's disorienting. The movie just builds in tension when edited in linear order and all the tension is released in the final 10 minutes. It's a real shame the studio was just like "wtf is this shit we have no faith in it" because it's actually decent and time has only been kind to the crazy meta stuff and weird score.
This one is different from the one being played in the movie. The version from the movie was more creepy and a bit slower. 1:04 was totally absent from the movie
I have been searching for this song for YEARS! It's one of my favorites!

No worries! I realized that this track is a rare find, especially in this quality, so I bought the original disc and uploaded the uncompressed track.

The whole intro was well executed and memorable!
